Liverpool 2014/15 | WARNING: Contains strong amounts of Scouse nonsense

Would be nice if he got a testimonial. He deserves a proper send off as much as anyone. Great lad.

Aye, the man is a legend IMO. Reina should also get one, but I imagine neither will.

One thing has to happen now: Jordan Henderson needs to be given vice captain in preparation for when he eventually becomes skipper.

Why on earth is he moving to Brøndby? He might be as injury prone as a United defender, but he's only 29.
If you'd bothered to read the page before this then you'd know the reason why and have saved yourself the time typing out the question and me my time replying to it !

Ben Dinnery is saying Moreno has been passed fit, Johnson has been ruled out and Skrtel is set to miss 2-4 weeks. Sakho and Manquillo... please perform and leave Brendan with no choice but to continue picking you!

Yeah but you are worse than Glastonspur when it comes to spamming tedious bollocks about your club, and far less endearing than the great man. Your posts are like white noise, you are elevator music. Not everyone has the time or patience to read every piece of waffle, from a droning windbag.

Here here, I've developed a talent of ignoring his posts with my eyes, I think it's my utter bollox filter kicking in, I don't even need the sites ignore function.

So will Balotelli start today? If he does, will he replace Coutinho (who has been poor)? Should be an interesting match. I'm expecting some goals because neither defence impresses me (although Spurs may have improved that aspect now).

I am anticipating a midfield diamond with Gerrard, Henderson, Allen and Sterling in midfield with a front duo of Balotelli and Sturridge. If they play a 4-3-3 then Sturridge and Sterling will ideally flank Balotelli as inside forwards. Don't think Sturridge will really enjoy that given Balotelli's lack of roaming movement and his preferred style of being the spearhead and focal point of the attack. So I think a midfield diamond would be the most optimal solution to fielding Balotelli and Sturridge together whilst also allowing Sterling to excel in a roaming No 10 role.

Coutinho was one of our best players against Southampton but was poor I thought against City. I think it's likely Lallana will start and with a couple of enforced changes at the back I suspect the manager won't want to change too much else.
I think Balotelli will be on the bench, and to be fair that will be a strong bench assuming Lambert, Markovic and Can are also on there.

I think 'legend' is pushing it a bit. He's quite a bit behind Jamie Carragher on that one.

He has had so many injuries it's hard to compare, I always felt he would leave in this window.

Really? I thought Coutinho was physically dominated by Wanyama and showed very little.

Rumours of the team being Mignolet, Manquillo, Lovren, Sakho, Moreno, Gerrard, Henderson, Allen, Sterling, Sturridge, Markovic.

Apt user name.

Balotelli has plenty of experience of playing wide though.

Apparently this is the team :

mignolet
moreno
sakho
lovren
manquillo
gerrard
allen
henderson
markovic
sturridge
sterling

Oops. Barney got there first :)

It's rare BR starts a new player from the off, they usually come on via the bench first time out. I think Manquillo and Moreno were exceptions he was forced into with no other options.

Joga was spot on ! Sack out ITKs

Obviously being cautious with Lallana, still strong team and bench even with a few injuries.

Having Coutinho, Markovic and Lambert on the bench to change things up is neat.

Poor play from Allen there. Gives it away then gets a yellow to make up for it when he didn't really need to.

One player who has played here before is tackled by someone who hasn't so Quinn says some cliched bollocks about welcome to the Premier League.

Also, can the football please stop interrupting Niall Quinn's 'Balotelli watch'? Shoehorned him into every sentence so far.

It's been a good game to watch so far, Spurs have really come on since last season. Balotelli having a good start too.

Love em or hate em Liverpool look a very good team. Sterling is someone Young needs to look at. Rodgers has done a good job there.

I actually love watching Sterling play, such a class player.

As a team, Liverpool are actually excellent to watch. They play the best football in the league for me.

Really like our 2 new full backs, Manquillo will only get better and Moreno looks a bargain.

Flanagan to come back from injury too.

Suarez would have scored from that solorun from Sterling though. #decline.

Exactly. Just 4 matches.
Just 4 matches, but at least we should see a glimpse of something, it has been dogshite and I think we have been the worst team in the PL so far, it is just one big flaw. And ofcourse we'll improve, but the level of Chelsea, City, Liverpool is far higher, and I mean really far higher. LVG said it will cost time, I believe him but who says we have the time to then bridge the gap we'll have by then?

Good start for us. Quite pleased with six points from these three games.

Do people still hold the 'but no-one from Liverpool would get into the United team' nonsense?

Henderson, Sterling and Sturridge would improve United so much.
