Liverpool 2014/15 | WARNING: Contains strong amounts of Scouse nonsense

He is very very rapid ! Some say the fastest player at the club  Was MoM against Real Madrid last season.

Bags of potential, I hope we keep him after his loan to Bordeaux and slot him into the 4 x CBs next season.

It was against Barcelona i think. Saw that game, he was flawless. Ilori currently holds the 100m record in our academy. Not bad considering the players we produced there.

Who are the three? From my view I'd say: Coutinho, Sturridge, Sterling, Lovren, Henderson, and Gerrard would be good enough to play (or at least fight for spots) in our squad at the moment.

Only Lovren would get into our starting eleven at the moment. Sterling would aswell in a different system.

I see Lovren scored today. Pleased for him, how are resident Liverpool caftards satisfied with his performance?

I've been wanting us to sign him since his Lyon days, very pleased that we've finally got him, even though at double the price we could have got him for a year ago I think it'll turn out money well spent.

Herrera hasn't kicked a ball yet. Seems a lot of hype and pressure for one so new.

I think he's going to be a star here.. all the attributes to succeed in the PL in my opinion. Been very impressed so far with him in preseason.

There's always hype and pressure on big money signings.. As you know aswell this summer with Markovic, Lallana and so on.

It was the same on here for Kagawa - over-hyped to the gills before he'd even kicked a ball in the Prem. But then came the reality: he's ended up as a bit-part player for United, one that they might well sell .... if they could find a buyer given the wages he's probably on.

Yeah, unlike the spurs' 500 signings last season who no one overrated at all, and did just as well as everyone expected to.

See Soldado, Chadli, Paulinho, Lamela..

A lot of hype and pressure to get into a united-Liverpool combined 11?

It's not the greatest archive net to get into such a midfield to be honest. Ours is average and yours is decent to good.

See Soldado, Chadli, Paulinho, Lamela..

They've been here one season, and the players I bolded I believe will go on to have a good season now they've settled a bit. How about giving a little time to players? Chadli was NEVER hyped up by anybody so not sure why he's listed.

Paulinho is decent, nothing more.

Doubt Soldado will do anything for you lot.. Theirs a good chance he won't even be at the lane this coming season. Lamela will go down as a flop in this league and end up back in Italy.. Would put money on it.

He will be here and is a quality striker who had a poor season. Lamela is an absolutely quality talent and that's obvious to anyone with a handful of braincells. I'd put money on him establishing himself in this side and going on to be a very good player indeed.

Anyway this isn't the Spurs thread, just bored of people acting as if one poor season means every single signing we made was crap. Going to be good to watch people backtrack next season.

No, no of course you lot make good signings sure how else would the top clubs sign player.. THFC is quite the scouting network. I don't think any Utd/Pool/City/Arsenal fan would be backtracking next season regarding Spurs. Yas won't be anywhere near that top 4

The only top club that will be getting our top players will be outside the Premier League, or for a ridiculous fee. Which is fine by me. It won't be United either, since a club with more pulling power and more willing to spend (ie Real) will swat you aside.

Well if we won't, nor will you. We'll see though.

Ah it what it is..

Who would you lot take off us? No one maybe RvP, de Gea at a push :D Banter

Definitely would take as starters: De Gea, Shaw, Mata (yes ahead of Couts) and RvP as all four would drastically improve our first 11. Rodgers would have to play 2 up front again with a diamond formation behind.

Others to take would be Fat Tooney to cover for Sturridge and that's about it.

Ye like a whore taken a vow of chastity.. Spurs will always be a selling club but anyway ye we ll see.. I wouldn't let that one season cloud your judgement..

What are your thoughts on LvG anyway.. Would you have liked him at WHL oh wait...

Difficult ! I wouldn't be playing 3-5-2 that's for sure so for 4-2-3-1 :
De Gea / Rafael (maybe, just - another sicknote though) / Shaw (only because we haven't seen Moreno yet so I'd need to have reservations on that one), None of your CBs, deffo not Carrick ! Hmm let's skip over the rest quickly to save you any embarrassment, Herrera (for the bench as sub for Henderson) Mata and (probably - though I don't think he has a good season coming up, I'm expecting injuries and lower goals per match %) RvP over whoever our new striker is going to be ;)

EDIT. Wow, I guess you were right, as certainties only De Gea and maybe RvP (though with only one striker, and playing with the speed we do, Sturridge is a better bet). I think probably many 'Pool supporters would even go for Coutinho over Mata and Henderson over an unproven Herrera.

We're a selling club to Madrid, bit like you with Ronaldo. Under Levy we are far from an easy club to get players from. Arsenal are more of a selling club in recent times and have sold to direct rivals to boot, whereas we usually sell abroad.

Meh, Pocchetino is a promising manager who our fans aren't going to hype up as a magician like yours are with Van Gaal, thank god. Very happy with our choice and excited for the coming season.

Henderson is vital to our team. You could stick Toure, Ramsey, Herrera, whoever in for him and we'd suffer. He's crucial. I wouldn't swap him for anyone.

Top midfielder - back to underrated again because he didn't light the World Cup up. Hard working as it gets, very athletic and a good passing range as well.

Jordan Henderson couldn't lace Yaya Toure boots, jesus christ.

That's not really what he said though. I don't rate Yaya Touré anywhere near as highly as most do, but I wouldn't say Henderson is better.

What I would say is that Touré couldn't really do Henderson's job, just like he couldn't do Touré's.

I reckon he could, if Yaya was playing under a tactician who he trusted etc I think he'd be disciplined another to play a holding role and given his presence and passing he'd be brilliant at that. Give him then a more attacking role and he, well we all know what he does much to my and many others annoyance.

Henderson doesn't play a holding role. He's disciplined, yes, but he covers more ground than anyone else in our team and Yaya is too lazy/lacks the stamina to do that.

He'd obviously start for us but he wouldn't even be asked to fill in for Henderson because he isn't suitable for it.

Henderson is rated by Liverpool fans like many of our fans rate Smalling and Jones.

They think they're far better than they actually are.

Don't think the recent posts in here are about overrating Henderson to be fair. It's not about Henderson being some world class midfielder, just that to replace him in our system you need to have specific qualities that happen to be Yaya's main weaknesses.

For every 10 Hendersons you only get 1 Toure.

Plus, it's much easier to replace Henderson than to replace Toure.

Go on, who would we get that has a similar energy level and is still a good all round footballer? Ramsey is the closest player to him (he's a better footballer) but Henderson's pressing and energy is on another level.

Well, my point was that Toure is a better footballer and teams would rather have Toure than Henderson. But for some reason, the Liverpool fans here seem to give off the impression that Henderson is irreplaceable as compared to Toure, and I do strongly hold the view that teams can adapt and will play better football with better players.

Would you rather have Toure in your team and sign a player to complement him, or have Henderson in your team and sign a player to complement him? I know who I would choose.
