Liverpool 2014/15 | WARNING: Contains strong amounts of Scouse nonsense

Future captain, one of the best midfielders in the country, one of our most important players, one of our best players.
Not hard to be one of the best midfielders in the country atm, there's a serious lack of quality in that position. I'd say then you guys need to address the lack of quality in the team then if he's one of your best players. To put it into perspective, its more than what Vidal, Pogba, Verratti and Koke earn...and he's nowhere near their level. English teams really need to stop giving middle of the road talent ridiculous money.

Sterling is the kind of player who would't give two shits about signing for Everton or Man United, Chelsea etc. if they offered him 10p more than at Liverpool. Little ponce.

You know him, do you?

I'd agree with this.

There are actually a couple of points raised in your post which are disputable :
1. Henderson is important to us, it's irrelevant as to whether he is one of the Top 10 midfielders in the country or not. The job he does for us is invaluable and enables others. So for me he's worth 120k.
2. You can't really compare what players are earning in Italy etc. with the PL now. The PL is awash with cash and players and agents know it. Italy don't have anywhere near that money to splash on salaries and probably only Real, Barca & PSG can match the PL in that regard. Not everyone wants to play in the PL though - regardless of salary Real / Barca have a stronger attraction for most.

His running style. It looks like he's got two man-purses under his arms and he's running through a shopping centre.

I totally agree with that and I understand he's important to you guys. Buy in fairness, people were responding to Barney who was exactly stating that, that he is 'one of the best midfielders in the league'.

1. He's important but not 8 million euros a year important. An easily dispensable player with some proper scouting.

2 The prem is awash with cash but that doesn't mean prem clubs have to overpay in terms of wages. I put a PSG player there and PSG has way more money than Pool. Spurs don't overpay like this and they are a prem side. No one else in world football would pay him such wages so it makes no sense that his demands can be so high. Say Pool refuse to give him the paper, what's he gonna do? Leave to another club? The clubs that afford those wages aren't even looking in his direction. He needs to be paid his market value for what he offers, not just get paid an exorbitant amount cause he plays in the prem.

Its this sort of attitude that has put the prem in a tight situation and led to the big clubs being the joke of the continent.

Too many over rated midfielders. The EPL has seriously deteriorated in the last five years and a primary cause has been the drop in good midfielders. The large a gap between the young lads and the veterans, indicates the poor level of development by the academies and decreasing buying power of EPL clubs.

Vidal hasn't been very good this season. That knee injury took a lot from him. I'd say Sterling is playing better than him at the moment.

Take it you meant henderson, no, vidal is pretty much back to his level. Had a monster performance vs dortmund.

It's pretty effing sad really. A true legend reduced to whoring for the likes of Subway. It's like when an old soldier has to sell a Victoria Cross. Or, you know, something like that but not equating football with the horrors of war and death.

Liverpool gave their players a break and it showed tonight, all of them were running on 75%. Laxidaisical passing and slow to react to a situation. Rodgers did the right thing by keeping his wingbacks right back in the first half, while we shook the cobwebs off. Swansea had two shots on target of any meaning. Two. Both from outside the box. They played well and would have beaten most lesser sides (Utd, etc) but they weren't getting past us that easily.

Second half we saw some of that vavavoom and we won. Simples. The Utd game will not be this slow tempo'ed from us, we will go for the kill. Just need to watch out for the second balls from hoofs up to Fellaini. Other than that 100 miles an hour football against that Utd team will be too much for them to handle.

:D

We looked like we'd just woken up in that first half. Unacceptable.

Yep, everyone (except maybe Coutinho, but even he was quiet) was terrible. Can't really be arsed discussing it for obvious reasons, didn't deserve anything though.

Where's the Liverpool fans gone? Normally here bumping the thread after every game and talking a heap of shit.

Nah, that's the face for fourth thread you're thinking if.
Were about to hear how villa at home is sectetly the hardest match of the year if you really analyse it

Didn't look like we were up for it at all. Utd were good but we were losing every 50/50 in that first half an hour.

We did the same to Spurs.

Fair play to LVG - he had a game plan and you executed it well today.

What did you think of Sterling at WB? For me that was a huge plus for us.
