Liverpool 2014/15 | WARNING: Contains strong amounts of Scouse nonsense

I wonder how they will cope with talented players running at them?

Next week at the Bridge will be very interesting... I know Moreno has the question marks over his defensive game, so I can assume that the Right Winger/Forward Markovic, playing at RWB will also have these question marks.
You mean like Hazard ? :p

Markovic has been superb as a RWB the past few games. He is very fast and very very good at getting back to cover. Hazard really had little opportunity to do much last night (the only time he did was when up against Can not Marko) and it was very noticeable that when Hazard tried to use speed to get past him he couldn't and had to backtrack and pass it off.

Looking forward to their EL fixtures starting up.

Just once we don't feck up our fixtures, I couldn't care less what they do. Our first five opening fixtures were supposed to be easy too, and look how that turned out.

Henderson had to be pulled apart from Costa in the tunnel too.
"Apparently Henderson offered out Costa down the tunnel and said "don't be a coward, stand up like a man". Costa went for him but was pulled back by the Chelsea players. Both Costa & Hendo got dragged into their changing rooms and Hendo said "I'll see you next week"

That's brilliant. A potential Roy Keane tackle on Tuesday then? From either player? I can see Can really smashing into him at some point too. He looks like a devious silent assassin.

The lad you've bought at RB hasn't made much of an impression and Can has had a 'meh' impact so far. Lallana has been hit and miss like Di Maria, though he didn't cost as much. The LB has been lively apart from a few brainfarts, while Markovic is starting to get to grips with things. Definitely a mixed bag overall.

Moving this discussion out of the United thread.

Manquillo has been fine. He's not been spectacular, but he's been solid and done his job and set up a couple of goals too. Lallana has been very good when he's played. One of our best players this season and while he has had two or three average games, for the most part he's been good. Moreno has been good, asides from a few mistakes like you say. Markovic had played 535 minutes before he started to play well (the Basel game). Since then he's been exceptional. Emre Can has been our best signing.

Markovic I've liked a lot and Moreno's becoming increasingly good. Lallana's been decent but still think you overspent. Manquillo I think is perfectly fine as a bench option. Can's been good but he reminds me a bit too much of Sissoko at times. The others everyone knows about.

As for last year, Sakho's really starting to come good. Has a knack for making things work, which must be what Deschamps sees in him (given he was a similar kind of puzzle filler himself).

For what is worth, I think only Moreno was a good signing.

Manquillo is okay, but isn't he just on loan? I also doubt that he'll ever become a top defender.

Can and Lallana are extremely average players while Lovren, Balotelli and Lambert have been poor signings.

Liverpool have been playing better football than us recently. Only five behind too. Still completely dodgy at the back and liable to lose control of games. But going forward they're completely different from the sham side they were a few months ago.

Defensively we've been pretty good lately.

They've been kind of consistent in that while their results aren't remarkable, they are managing to get some wins on the board. Still don't think they look good enough for top 4, but we need to be careful obviously.

Jeezus. I think you should take up watching netball !

I've heard Costa is bringing in his brother to help handle Hendo in the return leg.

Just as I start enjoying Liverpool matches again...Rodgers chucks Allen, Johnson and Enrique back into the team. Eurgh.

Happy enough with the selection. Prioritising the Chelsea game and rightly so.

Aye but there's no reason for Rossiter not to play ahead of Allen. Enrique shouldn't even be at the club any more, he's a joke.

Meh. I'm happy enough with Enrique staying. If we managed to get a decent offer for him I'd sell and reinvest, but I don't think it's bad to have him here. It's handy to have decent experienced players who won't moan if they only get 10 starts a season.

Allen is a better player than Rossiter. My only issue with him playing is that in a two man midfield I don't think he's a great option. In a three man midfield I have no problem with Allen playing.

Enrique isn't even experienced at the top level. No proper Champions League games under his belt, no premier league games in a season when we actually did well...He's a senior player but he's not the type of senior player you want around.

Agree that Allen is better than Rossiter but in cup games like this you get a great chance to give a youngster or two a game. There'll always be someone better than Rossiter if he doesn't get any minutes to develop.

Well, not sure how we didn't win that. Chance after chance created, yet missed. Not great to have a replay, but I'll take that over being out of the cup especially when the competition looks so winnable. Bolton are absolute shite so I expect us to go through. Henderson was a class apart from the rest of our team. Sakho, Can and Johnson were good too. Markovic looked bright when he came on as well. Move onto the Chelsea game.

Also, Kevin Friend is a massive bellend.

LOL Drawing to a non-Premier League side. Can you imagine how embarrassed their fans must be?

Lambert would have made Bolton's jobs easier and we wouldn't have created as many chances with him on the pitch disrupting our play. He's also not been any more clinical than Sterling this year when he's played.

Need Sturridge back.

Henderson was class? I thought he was wasteful and needs to stop trying to force things everytime. Coutinho's dribbling and link up with Sterling was a highlight again, Lucas was your best player and Johnson was a good outlet.
