Liverpool 2014/15 | WARNING: Contains strong amounts of Scouse nonsense

What the actual fcuk was that?:lol: I've been hearing all these "good" things about Utd and how they're sorting themselves out and tonight I finally get to watch them properly...:lol:

Liverpool will be bricking it this weekend. They really will. Utd for the league title!! Bramble for England!! :D:wenger::wenger:

I really can't see United not 'showing up' this time though. As bad as we've been at times this season, Liverpool are (imho..and I backed the kunts to get top four) utter shite at the moment and I expect a comfortable win for United.

Yes we were bad tonight but you're sitting in 9th man.

I brick it against Liverpool everytime. Why are people talking about form? All goes out of the window. The problem is, i am not sure which United is going to turn up. If the United of today show up then i worry that the luck might run out and Liverpool's might turn.

Just hope that the team turns up and Rooney gets his form back and Falcao gets a chance and scores.

Question for Liverpool fans: don't you get pissed off every time one of us posts a question for Liverpool fans?

Remember Ojo from FM2014. He was pretty decent on that from what I remember.

It's quite amazing that 7 games ago, Liverpool were ahead of us by 1 point.

Since then, we faced Chelsea H, City A, Palace H, Arsenal A, Hull H, Stoke H, Southampton A
Liverpool have played Hull H, Newcastle A, Chelsea H, Palace A, Stoke H, Leicester A, Sunderland H

And now they're 7 points behind us with the possibility of them being 10 behind.

As poor as Liverpool are, I still am very unsure about Sunday. We are going to need Di Maria back and not play that formation we had tonight.

Watch Mario finally score against us

Massive young talent. He's a 17 year old winger.

He's good, and seems to have pushed on this season as a striker (been a winger for a while). But he's nowhere near Sterling/Ibe's ability or category at the same ages.

Saying that would love it if he got some playing time and scored but I highly doubt he'll be used unless we're cruising 4-0 (and we know how unlikely that is).

They still seem to believe that they have an easier set of fixtures remaining then us. Far as I know, we've played:

Chelsea
City
Southampton
WHU
Arsenal
Everton

They've played:

Chelsea
City
Southampton
WHU
Everton
Spurs

Can't see how at this stage they still believe we've had the easier fixtures :wenger:

You're late to the party mate. We may have said that 3-6 games ago (when it was true) but not now.

Yeah that's an interesting way to look at it, and there should be some perspective.

Also I'm not quite sure why Liverpool fans are so giddy about yesterday's performance. It was a terrible performance, but that's really as bad as it's going to get for Utd. I mean we might play this badly on Sunday, but I really doubt we'll be that complacent, and the context of the game, with McNair having a terrible game and Smalling getting injured 20 minutes in, always meant it was going to be disjointed at the back. And Fellaini reverting back to his 2013/14 form, even though he'd been much better for a few weeks now.

To be perfectly honest, I prefer us having this mare of a performance against Saints (and getting the win!), and hoping that Van Gaal will be at them on the training ground this week and try to get back on track. We hadn't looked this nervy or this uncomfortable in possession for a while, my gut tells me it was more of a one off than anything else.

Also, despite playing so badly, our attacking play at times looked okay despite the forwards having very little support, and this was against the best defence in the PL. Nothing special, of course, we were much too timid, but we didn't look half as bad up front as we did at the back, and VP regaining such form shouldn't fill Liverpool with confidence, given how average their own defence is (I know you've conceded less goals these past few games but the opposition wasn't exactly... well you know)

Liverpool were 4 points ahead of us when the transfer window closed. That's an 11 point swing in our favour in the space of 12 games and could be a 14 point swing on Sunday.

Sunday will be brilliant with both supporters absolutely bricking it. Never have bragging rights been more important.

I think this sums it up quite well based on how both teams have performed recently:

Having said that, there's one big... no huge difference between Utd and Liverpool this season. We win when playing badly. Carragher said he's worried. You should be too.

We have a world class goalkeeper. Liverpool have a goalie who makes loads of mistakes.
We have strikers in RVP and Rooney who can win games. Liverpool's only decent striker has been injured since August.

This is why we can win more often while playing badly.

It also shows the reasons why Ferguson preferred to have a solid GK and centre back pairing and a striker or two that score goals out of nowhere before sorting the central midfield out.

I think this is Wenger's problem, also City without Aguero do not look anywhere near as dangerous despite having an excellent central midfield.

Oh I agree. I just found Neville's assessment quite funny considering how bad we were last night.

We really should be beating them Sunday. Apart from the reasons you mention, we're a lot more dominant at home, will probably play a back 4 and look dangerous from set-pieces. They look a nightmare at defending them. Fellaini should be getting himself a goal the way they struggle to deal with corners, free-kicks etc.

If you lose on Sunday its season over for you lot in terms of catching us.

One injury to Sturridge and your season feel apart.
If you play on Sunday like you did last night, and we play as we have been, then no-one will win .. the FA will declare the game null and void keep the 3 points for themselves.

We are a lot better at home. If one of Rafael or Shaw is fit plus Di Maria I would be very confident of a win.

Manchester United may have left Southampton with three points, but Gary Neville felt their performance was laughably bad.

Two goals from Robin van Persie saw United climb to third in the Premier League after a 2-1 win at St Mary’s, a result which manager Louis van Gaal later described as “lucky”.

And Sky Sports pundit Neville was shocked by how poorly the expensively-assembled team passed the ball.

Louis van Gaal believes his Manchester United side were lucky

“I think probably he won't have managed as bad a passing performance as that in his career,” he said on Monday Night Football.

“Louis van Gaal will watch the video back and think they were so bad in their passing at times. It almost got to the point where you started laughing it was so bad. I was that frustrated I was laughing,

“I couldn’t believe the amount of times they gave it away and in the first half the amount of times they passed it back.

“You’re looking at players there and there’s £100million worth in central midfield and £50m or £60m up front. They’re massive players.

“Forget the back. Antonio Valencia and Ashley Young are make-shift wing-backs at best and you’ve got young kids and players playing out of position. I can see why it would be bad at the back and disrupted.

“In front of that it was so bad in terms of the passing and the accuracy of the passing. Louis van Gaal will be shocked at how bad it was. I was shocked.”

When was the last United v Liverpool match when we were BOTH playing utter shite ?

You were at home vs Sunderland. We were away to best defensive team in the league. But carry on telling yourself that both teams are doing bad.

For whatever reason I think we'll win tonight, but damn we're sure making it hard for ourselves with the line-up selected.

Mignolet, Johnson, Skrtel, Lovren, José Enrique, Lucas, Allen, Henderson, Gerrard, Sterling, Lambert

No idea what Rodgers is thinking.

That back four!

United's "shiteness" is being exaggerated. We were really really poor last night but we haven't been that bad in every game. I'd rate our performances since the Leicester game as "competent".

Liverpool have been far shitter than us as reflected by the points table.
