Liverpool 2014/15 | WARNING: Contains strong amounts of Scouse nonsense

easy fixtures in the PL...yeah right oh...good luck with that one

We have the 3 promoted teams in our 1st 6 games, Swansea, Sunderland and West Ham too, don't underestimate us after last season. I think we could well be top at Christmas if we carry our momentum from the opening fixtures.

dont give a toss who has who...my point is that there are no easy games or gimmes in the PL.
Counting chickens comes to mind

We are in decline?

Let us compare the starting 11, we all know our squad is stronger.

Let's do the players signed until this point, both clubs have money to spend therefore let's see what team looks more promising to these potential players.

Liverpool ----------------------------------------------------------------Manchester United

Mignolet ------------------------------------------------------------------De Gea

Flanagan ----------------------------------------------------------------- Evra
Sakho----------------------------------------------------------------------Evans
Agger----------------------------------------------------------------------Vidic
Johnson--------------------------------------------------------------------Rafael

Henderson-----------------------------------------------------------------Fellaini
Gerrard--------------------------------------------------------------------Carrick

Sterling--------------------------------------------------------------------Rooney
Suarez-------------------------------------------------------------- -----Mata
Coutinho------------------------------------------------------------------ Januzaj

Sturridge------------------------------------------------------------------RVP

And what choice have they for manager?

Brendan Rodgers -

(1) Football league championship play offs 2010 - 11------------- ---------------------------------------

Moyes

How did that end? We had superior players last time as well.

Not sure about Owen but Torres must be thanking his agent daily for making the transfer happen. On top of great wages and living in London, he won everything there's to play for at Chelsea, except the league title, which he may yet get. Most players would trade adulation from fans for much bigger salary and a chance to win trophies.

Why would Torres regret leaving Liverpool? He was already on the decline there, at least at Chelsea he's winning trophies and getting to live in London.

A lot of times promoted teams get off to a good start. They seem to be fresh, hyped up by being in the Premier and the wear and tear of the league hasn't caught up with their thin squads yet. I would like to play them as late as possible after they have been battered about a bit, with injuries and suspensions taking their toil.

Which footballer has it better than Torres? Like you said, gets to live in one of the worlds greatest cities, constantly wins trophies, gets a massive salary, and gets cheered and supported by the Chelsea fans no matter how shit he is.

He's in heaven.

Don't care what anyone says. Even without Suarez I still reckon Rodgers will keep us up.

In Brendan we trust.

2nd place last season and now you're trying to avoid relegation? I know the guy was good and that, but this might be a bit of an overreaction mate!;)

What's this? I thought Chelsea had to hand out plastic flags to try create some atmosphere at Stamford Bridge, the most noise I've ever heard from them was abusing their own manager when Benitez went there.

The point was we won't attract the top players because our team is on a decline. I asked, what decline?

Louis van Gaal is the manager, not David Moyes therefore I'm not sure what the difficulty is in attracting top talent.

If you want to respond to my post then at least take it in context.

The difficulty is we're not in the Champions League, I think we'd have Sanchez here if we were in Europe.

It's not impossible just more difficult, big fees and big contracts are necessary.

Yes but relative to Liverpool.

The original post you replied to was about Liverpool fans stating we will have difficulty because we are on the decline, I asked what decline. CL football possibly, as you mentioned that's the reason Sanchez did not join but it certainly had nothing to do with a supposed decline.

I think even with our current squad we will leapfrog a Suarez-less Liverpool this year

As opposed to those hand-stitched silk flags that other clubs use, right? Every clubs fans have plastic flags.

I'm not a Chelsea fan but whenever someone brings that up I just shake my head.

Well the clubs don't use them, their fans often do make flags and banners themselves to bring to games to show their support.

The only lame thing that happened there was the fact that the club themselves handed the flags out.

Handing out flags and creating atmosphere is better than being a silent library like the Emirates or half empty like the Etihad in my eyes at least.

The problem with Liverpool is that they can't win the league ahead of Chelsea and Man City so effectively the only place where they go is down. I would love to read the reactions once the next season ends and people actually realize that without Suarez and extra fixtures to play they don't have a chance in hell to even equal last season's league form.

I don't think they will even make it to the Top 4 and most probably it is going to be us who take their place. Also, if Tottenham can somehow get their act together then even they can finish ahead of them next season.

If Liverpool really do replace Suarez with Lallana, Lambert and Bony then it will be beautiful.

Is it really worth us bothering to turn up next season ?

I've seen a few but they looked like they were made in the stadium.

As a match goer who personally had 4 made last year ...2 at 8ft by 5, 1 at 8ft by 4 and 1 at 6ft by 3 at great cost, I can tell you that proper flags are made.
In London nowadays there is alot of red tape with councils and with Chelsea and Arsenal you have to now have proof of a fire certificate if asked by a steward. In certain areas of the stadiums there are limits on size of flags plus if they cause viewing restrictions they may be asked to be not flown.
With regards to the plastic ones seen at grounds such as Stamford Bridge, Wembley for big games....a lot of clubs do it including Utd, Arsenal, City etc.
My own take on it is that if you dont like them then give it to a kid or someone who does...I always pass mine on.

So now Suarez has left...that opens the way for Torres to return to the club and return to the form of yesteryear ;)

Do the London councils impose severe noise restrictions at the grounds too ?

That would explain a lot, especially regarding Chelsea & Arsenal.

Do you go to these grounds?
Like to know if you are basing this on personal experience.
Because you need to look at home first where the atmosphere is poor and you can hear a pin drop in the kop end nowadays during games. Old koppites would be turning in their graves to see what its become....
Of course its a pattern throughout most of the bigger clubs and away support is much better than home

I'm a fan of the style of football that Rodgers had you playing last season, but more than a little puzzled with his transfer purchases. Looks very similar to what Spurs did last season with their Bale money. Buying a bunch of decent players to try and replace Suarez is a recipe for failure IMO. I'm not convinced that Lallana is an improvement at #10 over Coutinho or Sterling. Liverpool fans thinking that Rodgers was more integral than Suarez for last season's results are in for a rude awakening.

Agreed....am awaiting serious quality defenders and centre midfield to be signed.
Otherwise they will get found out and dont have Suarez for the goal out of nothing situations

Our atmosphere in last season was as good as it comes for league games. In previous seasons you have a definite point, but last season our atmosphere was probably only behind Palace.
