Liverpool 2014/15 | WARNING: Contains strong amounts of Scouse nonsense

Just laughing at your performance. I think it's fair to say that the bubble has burst. It took a dive and penalty to beat a second rate Bulgarian side.

As far as Bulgaria go, Ludogorets will remain top for quite some time. They are built a European quality academy and their coaches went to study at Barcelona. Kids from all over the country are going to train there, starting as young as 7-8. The owner is a Bulgarian businessman who is quite the patriot. Have to say, i am not going to be surprised if they feature more and more often in Europe.

fecking hell. Glad we got the 3 points but that was an abysmal performance.

I actually think I'd rather have Brad Jones in nets next game, Mignolet is just absolutely fecking atrocious.

It isnt just the goalie. Your entire defence is a bit shite. I think its worse than last years to be honest.

I don't think bibotelli will score enough to compensate either. You've got some promising youngsters, but that defence is going to cost you this year.

Lovren and Sakho are shaky aye, but I'll excuse them for now because it's a new partnership. Mignolet has no excuse, he's been making mistake after mistake for about about 9 months now.

Sterling is awful on the wing. They should only play him at 10.

Also the pace factor isnt going to help them as much this season. The space created by Suarez isnt there anymore. Balotelli is slowing them down.

Gerrard made a few mistakes at the end. 3 games in 7 days is going to be very hard for a player aged 34.

That was fecking shite. I only hope we improve as much as we did last year.

Now to go and grind out a victory against West Ham at the weekend.

Great? Really? There was nothing great about that lad and certainly nothing to boast about!
Boast? A great win in terms of the timing of the winner, coming through a sticky game and collecting three points after five years out of the CL. It wasn't 5-0 but imagine the difference in tone had it finished 1-1.

If it's the two points that puts us through it'll remain a great win.

Gerrard looks just about gone

The FB's look handy - in between, not so much atm, but can improve (Lovren/Sakho)

fixed ;)

We have won some scrappy matches over the years but what makes me very happy is your style of football. Nothing compared to last year. You we actually scary then, now i can see team doing what they did against us last season, aka not being afraid.

You need to get Valdes signed on the dotted line ASAP Mignolet and blunders go well beyond the realms of a young keeper.

Oh do stop pickle, it was dogshit, the harbingers of doom around here aren't just spinning you a line, even the decent scouse posters can see it was poor.

You got to beat your Ludgorets, Sunderlands, Burnleys and Swanseas when you're playing p*ss poor. Or they come back to haunt your ass when its time to look back at the season and wonder where it went wrong.

Edit: Yes Mignolet is crap. I would like Valdes but not sure if it will happen.

Yup. Really hoping that Rodgers was lying when he said he'd no knowledge of any deal for Valdés because we badly need him.

Worst thing about the mistake is that Mignolet isn't one of those keepers who can write off a mistake and move on, his confidence will be drained.

Christ ! I am sure you are, actually thought it your most worrying area, even prior to the summer window, it's not like there's a solid defense in front to protect him either.

@Dumbstar what a difference a few injuries make, Liverpool have looked flat missing Sturridge, not saying the bubbles burst here or anything because I remember your starting very slowly last season, the first 10 games or so was quite a labored affair and then your season started to gather momentum, whats to say nothings changed this year.

Suarez came into the team and once he got match fit they really took off.

I thought Mignolet was very highly rated among Liverpool fans? And Valdes is probably only a tier 3 keeper at best nowadays.

Their shaky defence against Real Madrid will be a mouth-watering prospect. The day when they realise that they are just not as good as they think they are. It will be fecking beautiful.

Maybe by some, think the majority would like an upgrade on him now. He was okay for most of last season, but dreadful in the big games. Now he's liable to make a mistake any game.

Valdés is hard to rate because it depends on how he recovers from his injury but before it he was one of the world's best in my view, big fan of him personally.

I never rated him a top class keeper but I always thought he was a good keeper, but you're more qualified to answer so I'll take your word for it!

I'm personally not a fan of Valdes, I watched a lot of Barca when they were steamrolling everybody and I just thought he looked out of place in terms of ability to the rest of them, I think in the past he's been a good keeper, don't get me wrong but however good he was back in the day I think is in the past for him.

Why has Petr Czech not be mentioned ? Or have I missed something here, he's as solid a keeper as a team challenging top four needs and certainly an upgrade.

Big result, another flat performance.

Diamond. Diamond. Diamond. Diamond. Diamond. Diamond. Diamond. Diamond. Diamond. Diamond. Diamond. Diamond. Diamond. Diamond. Diamond. Diamond. Diamond. Diamond. Diamond. Diamond. Diamond. Diamond. Play the diamond. Surely Rodgers will do it next game? It really looks like Rodgers doesn't want to play Lambert and Balotelli at the same time. I can see Lambert being Balotelli's back up and Borini being Sturridge's. Have Markovic amd Sterling competing for the tip of the diamond, Lallana and Coutinho for one side, Henderson and Allen for the other and Gerrard and Lucas holding. Let Emre do a bit of everything.

I thought Mignolet was shocking for the goal. Valdes will walk into the team. Manquillo and Moreno were both excellent. The two Spaniards were at the heart of both goals. Manquillo probably should have scored another too. Lovren and Sakho were both poor. They looked okay for most of the game, but they both looked like they had a mistake in them.

Gerrard was very good, especially woth sich little rest. Henderson put in another decent performance. And then come the two worst players on the pitch - Lallana and Coutinho. I can excuse Lallana's performance as he's coming into a new team and has been injured for weeks. Coutinho was absolutely horrific though. Sterling was isolated on the wing. He needs to be playing centrally. Lucas was poor when he came on too I felt. He wasn't great for their goal and looked sloppy. He and Gerrard blatantly can't play in the same team.

I thought Balotelli was pretty decent. He worked hard and when Borini came into the game he looked much better (all our strikers look better in the diamond). I thought Borini should have scored too. Atmosphere was pretty good.

Overall a win is a win, so I'm not going to complain too much.

He (Mignolet) has fantastic reactions so he pulls off some fantastic saves at times, has kept us in front with them quite a lot.

That's not really enough for me though, it's pretty much expected at the top level - everything else lets him down. Poor distribution, erratic decision making, has no control over his defence. Just too limited, especially for a team playing with a high line like us who'd ideally have someone capable of sweeping up.

Chelsea wouldn't sell Cech to them. They wouldn't even do business over Bertrand.

Good memory, hold on to that. :)

Yet they sold us Mata, Chelsea will do business at the right price.

We met their asking price for Bertrand, they refused.
Really? Well, maybe as you finished second last year they saw you as more of a threat than us who were languishing in 7th.

With all the comments from Liverpool fans regarding United's summer transfer dealings I can safely say that they look a heck of a lot better than what Liverpool have produced so far. Lovren at 20m, Lallana at 25m, Markovic at 20m.... Woeful. The combined fee could have landed them a Di Maria with change to spare!

One is playing in a brand new defence and has had a couple of shaky moments, one has looked ok in one game, poor in another and is coming back from injury without a preseason and the other has looked good and is 19/20.

They've also played less than 10 combined games so calling them woeful is idiotic.
