Liverpool 2014/15 | WARNING: Contains strong amounts of Scouse nonsense

Popped up a page or so back, must of been out gathering fuel for his burrow.

Pay no heed @Sam they're all closet United fans in truth.
Nah, I post on here win or lose. Been here forever. I just don't post a lot,and for the record , I'm bothered that we didn't get Falcao or Sanchez.

I'm relatively calm about United's future actually. We're financially in a better position than we've ever been. I don't crave instant and constant success, I know we've been spoilt by the greatest manager of all time. If we've finally turned a corner and are going to start acting like a big club, in the same way we've looked on at Bayern, Real and Barcelona doing so, then we don't have much to worry about - whether you like it or not, those are the sort of clubs who are never far away from big prizes, despite various dynasties ending and reforming. Other teams will come and go, win titles while we don't, but a strong United is probably not far off. And probably sooner than your wishful thinking and doom-mongering would suggest.

What you seem to forget, is that those 3 teams don't have the intense competition United face week in, week out, playing the PL. They are all significantly richer than the rest of the other clubs playing in their respective leagues, whereas United have to compete with Chelsea & City on that score. Arsenal are no paupers now either. & we're making great inroads into the commercial world of football. We now have owners who are addressing the failings of past regimes. They've recognised we have massive worldwide appeal, & are taking full advantage. Add to that the extra revenue that will be generated with the Anfield extension, along with a very good side, & I think you'll find your future ain't quite as cut & dried as the likes of Bayern, Real, & Barcelona. As for this doom-mongering stuff  That's brilliant coming from you lot. We're finished now that Suarez has left. Ain't that right ?

For all your banging on about how much money you've got, you'd happily swap the likes of Falcao & Di Maria for Carrick & Welbeck if it meant Fergie still being in charge. So I have to chuckle at people claiming we're running scared of United spending crazy money on last minute signings. Like I say. It's how we perform that will shape our future, not Manchester United's transfer policy. As it stands, I'd say we're far happier, & more confident, than any United fan at this moment in time.

No, they're not interested at all they're not even bothered look at them ignoring United and simply chatting freely amongst themselves about the prospects ahead. The summer signing of Southampton and how to remember the names of the rest.

That was actually quite true until United supporters started with their silly player for player comparisons. Seeing as it's a Liverpool thread, I decided to post my comments on it, which obviously meant I compared the prospects of both clubs based on their teams - not players - & managers. Some of the more sensible ones amongst you do recognize, & accept, that we currently have a better team. I point this out, & suddenly I'm bricking it because United are splashing the cash on Di Maria & Falcao. You're probably one of the worse on here when it comes to polarized opinions relating to United & Liverpool. You're like Kraftwerker's mini-me.

That's all very interesting.

How do you explain my long absences in the 2012/13 season when we were winning games for fun, RvP scoring left right and centre, and Liverpool were doing what they do best - finishing 7th? Check my post history if you like.

I wish I had your time and inclination to obsessively post here. But let's not kid ourselves that you frequently go missing yourself and more than opportune moments.

Glad you've missed me though. Truly touched you noticed.

Yeah. It was just coincidence that after giving it large in January after you signed Mata, your departure from the board came about when Liverpool started to string a good run together. It was also just coincidence that you suddenly re-appeared when all was safe & well.

Jog on bottler.

This is the main fecking problem, there was a nice system going, LLL, nice one, L for the player, L for Liverpool, was good. Then the Ms came along, M for Markovic, M for Manquillo, M for Moreno, M for Mario, M for Manchester United.

This is where the rage, the self doubt, the fear, went into over drive. Now there is only worry, deluded opinions on the nature of how new signings will fit in, the ability of certain players. Is Old Trafford even bigger than Anfield?

 I have no idea what this post is on about, but I like it.

Grr, don't worry we'll catch you up and overtake you in the next few weeks. You'd better keep checking over your shoulder. Grr! ;) :p

That could well be the case, and it is true, far to many people have written them off already. When in truth, they're in a better position then us atm. But pretening that they're not bothered by us signing Falcao and Di Maria is just silly.

Di Maria will improve you lots I am sure. Don't see Falcao giving you much that Van Persie wasn't doing already. The gains there are marginal compared to what a player of similar stature in pretty much any other position on the pitch could give you.

Either way, I am glad you didn't spend that money on a Vidal or a Hummels or some such.

We will have another 150mil plus to spend next winter/summer so we have plenty of time to sign them.

Good luck taking one of them from a team in the middle of a title race.

Which title race would that be?

Juve will have the league wrapped up by then :) Milan and Inter are both shadows of their former selves and Roma just lost their key defender and their main midfielder is out for half the season.

And do you actually envisage there being any sort of competitive challenge in the Bundesliga this season? (personally I hope there will be, but I just can't see how Bayern won't win the league).

The Liverpool lot are shitting themselves and we're only 3 games into the season.

Come on guys, man up!

Keep going on about United's wages, fabricated articles about Ryan Giggs and our mega bucks tteam..

I'm splitting my sides here!

I'm not sure they're exactly shitting it but I think they do recognise us as a force, not the one of old but one that could break into the top 4 potentially.

Otherwise its normal service.

Why do United supporters keep telling themselves that we're shitting ourselves?

Why do United supporters keep telling themselves that we're shitting ourselves?

Because a fair few of you(notably on RAWK), have gone from saying we can't attract players like Di Maria and Falcao without CL football, to saying we're the new Man City and desperate. Do you not see how that could be perceived as you lot completely in denial of the inevitable?

That we won't continue to finish 7th for the forceable future, as many of you lot also predicted.

Oh come off it. Even without your big money signings there wasn't that many Liverpool fans who thought 7th place was going to be the norm for United. You'll be battling it out with ourselves & Arsenal for the CL spots. Most of us expected that anyway.

That couldn't be further from the truth. There were plenty saying we'll spend a few years as a mid-table side. Plenty.

My point is and I'm not talking about yourself or anybody on here in particular, have gotten a bit of shock as a result of our spending and have resorted to petty insults like the ones I mentioned above. It reeks of fear and denial of the thought of us becoming the main force in English football again. Which our spending signals we're attempting to do, as any club of our size would after the season we've had.

I didn't. Not this season at any rate. I saw the Sunderland and Swansea dropped points coming a mile off, specially after that laughable preseason tournament.

Slight concern they've signed two world class players, but given the choice of two lesser evils I would take that over them signing Hummels and Vidal. Then I would have been really concerned for our spot.

A lot of United fans were concerned too, seeing as we were riddled with injuries and had only brought in Herrera and Shaw at that point, and only managed to field one of them. Herrera even came off injured later on in the Swansea game.

Exactly. That's why those predictions were easy.

A few curve balls now with your new signings but the 352 should keep me honest for a few more weeks.

Sorry but you have to be a little deluded to think that any team will (as things stand) become 'The Main Force' in English football. There is too much money in the game now (meaning every one of the top clubs has serious money to spend) and Chelsea and City can pretty much match your spending any time they like, Arsenal & Liverpool also have enough to make the gap in the quality of the players mean so little that form, the manager and the system will have far more effect on which team rises to the top than just money/star players, epitomised by Liverpool last season. This doesn't mean it will happen every season or every other season but I wouldn't be at all surprised if over the next 10-15 years every one of those five clubs won the PL.

Despite an excellent team performance against Spurs, Gerrard was poor again. Has Rodgers got the balls to drop him ? Personally i think not.

Very true, but United won the title three times on the bounce when Chelsea were at their peak. Even more competition now of course, but it's not impossible that one could pull away for a while at least. Arsenal and yourselves will lose players to bigger clubs.

Shhh. This is the Liverpool vs Man Utd thread now.

Arrhh, predictions based on fan-bias. If you used RedCafe as a guide to Liverpool's fortunes over the past 12 months then you'd be sorely misguided. First it was an autumnal boom, then it was going to go wrong by Christmas, it was then assumed United "would be ahead by February".

Turning to this season, United were going to hit the ground running while Liverpool would be terrible without you-know-who.

And the doom keeps coming. This time it'll be Europe that'll cripple us.

Denial much?

We were going to hit the ground running before being struck by around 10 injuries and in regards to yourselves, you've hardly been anything great aside from the Spurs game, who are well documented bottlers. I reckon that won't be there first 0-3 defeat at home this season.
