Liverpool 2014/15 | WARNING: Contains strong amounts of Scouse nonsense

It's as if we don't have a right to be optimistic and they want us to admit we'll be shit forever, despite the transfer window we've just had and the manager we have at the helm.

It's hilarious seeing them get their panties in a twist.
The worst part of it is how they were telling us all off because they were saying we might do a Spurs with all the signings they were making but as soon as the roles are reversed and we splash some major cash on some genuine world class players they'll list detailed reasons to the reasons these signings won't work, similar to what they were laughing at us for saying earlier in the transfer window, oh how times change.

United make a couple of big signings & Krafty appears......Hooray. Just like Juan Mata eh Krafty. You're really going to show us now eh ????

Mata's great isn't he? Maybe if you'd had someone in midfield averaging a goal or assist every game in the tail end of last season you'd not have bottled that once in a generation chance at a league title.

Still have no idea why people are laughing at Mata, is it 7 goals and 5 assists in 14 games for us since he signed? I'd actually say that's a great record, and definitely one that if he keeps up would place him at the peak of the mountain of #10s in the league.

United sign two of the absolute best players in the world, within one week of each other, and opposition fans act like we have no right to be excited. Quite frankly, if any of City/Chelsea/Arsenal/Liverpool/Spurs had just signed Di Maria and Falcao I'd be absolutely cacking it. So opposition fans acting like they aren't bothered just come across as desperate.

Does it mean that we're going to suddenly take the league by storm, win every match 5-0 and win the title? No obviously not. There's a hell of a lot of work to be done, and virtually a whole new team has to click into place. And as of right now, all the above mentioned teams are in a better situation then us because they already have established teams. But why shouldn't we be excited? Any other fans would be if their team had just made those signings.

I think what's grinding the gears of the Liverpool fans in this particular thread is how a few of the posters are massively underrating their team.

There's a lot of work to be done but I don't think as much as many think, one very good centre mid, one very good defender and we're looking at a title-competing squad for the next few seasons, providing our players all click of course. Van Gaal is building a truly incredible team, it doesn't look that way just yet but I think by the end of next Summer we could have one of our best teams in years, I know it sounds optimistic but the foundations being laid down now are going to massively help us in the coming seasons, we've had a huge overhaul this summer, which leaves us a much smaller task in the next two windows where we'll tone our spending down as we'll only need a couple of players.

Think you'll find it was United fans who were saying the same about us when we got a lot of our transfer business done early.

We saw the gulf in class between the 2 sides on Sunday.

That could well be the case, and it is true, far to many people have written them off already. When in truth, they're in a better position then us atm. But pretening that they're not bothered by us signing Falcao and Di Maria is just silly.

I meant to say they instead of we, in the initial sentence, my bad.

Why this assertion that we're bothered/upset about United's signings ? We only have to play you twice a season. It's how we play that's important to us. We keep to the standard of the past 18 months or so, & we'll be there, or thereabouts, regardless of what Manchester United do.

Can't be that great. He had you hiding away in a cave for 3 months after he signed.

Rich from you. Didn't your tagline used to be 'appears when Liverpool wins'?

Unfortunately I have neither the time nor the inclination to post as much these days, and that's been the case since long before last season (though you probably weren't here to notice).

Oh to have the time to not only post on the forum of my own team but on that of a rival's too, just like you. Living the dream redman, living the dream.

Because you're on a Manchester United forum, talking about Manchester United.

Because everything you do is measured against us. That's why you post here for instance - we're the itch you can't scratch. A strong United is definitely something that bothers you. Your poker face doesn't work here.

You'll be jizzing in your pants if LVG & his mega bucks side do the same.

Yeah, you don't sound bothered at all.

Nope. You have me confused with someone else.

You go back & you'll find I've been posting on here even after you've won the countless number of trophies you have over the past 8 or 9 years. I've even congratulated your lot on most of them.

Big difference to you who goes into hiding at the prospect of us winning the league for the first time in 25 years, & only re-appears when it's safe to do so.

You little bottler.

You're thinking of njred.

It's actually a Liverpool related thread on a Manchester United forum. Seeing as I'm a guest with full access to such threads, it's hardly surprising I post on it is it ?

You're still on a Manchester United forum, talking about Manchester United. Regardless of what thread it might be.

I do apologize. So it's normal etiquette on here then for us Scousers not to respond to anything related to Manchester United, even if it is on a Liverpool thread ?

You can talk about United all you like, but then don't pretend like you're not bothered at all by our signings. Its just silly.

I'll openly admit that I'm bothered by Chelsea signing Fabregas and Costa, likewise Arsenal and Sanchez. Why pretend otherwise?

I post on here because it's more challenging & entertaining than posting on LFC forums discussing tactics, new signings etc. It's the reason why you spend so much time on LFC related threads. & if you were totally honest, you'd admit to actually have a deep fear, that with Fergie gone, you're more than just a little concerned that a 'strong United' might be a thing of the past.

That's all very interesting.

How do you explain my long absences in the 2012/13 season when we were winning games for fun, RvP scoring left right and centre, and Liverpool were doing what they do best - finishing 7th? Check my post history if you like.

I wish I had your time and inclination to obsessively post here. But let's not kid ourselves that you frequently go missing yourself and more than opportune moments.

Glad you've missed me though. Truly touched you noticed.

Yeah, we're shaking in our boots. The evil wizard that put a spell on Liverpool is gone and despite signing some of the best players in the game, they are nothing now. They'll all turn into shit. :(

How will we cope?

I'm relatively calm about United's future actually. We're financially in a better position than we've ever been. I don't crave instant and constant success, I know we've been spoilt by the greatest manager of all time. If we've finally turned a corner and are going to start acting like a big club, in the same way we've looked on at Bayern, Real and Barcelona doing so, then we don't have much to worry about - whether you like it or not, those are the sort of clubs who are never far away from big prizes, despite various dynasties ending and reforming. Other teams will come and go, win titles while we don't, but a strong United is probably not far off. And probably sooner than your wishful thinking and doom-mongering would suggest.

Under uploads is a Ballague interview. He says Valdes loves Liverpool and Rodgers would love to have Victor Valdes in the team. Basically confirms that he's going to sign afterwards too.

If he can prove his fitness that would be a really good move I think. Suits our style more than Mignolet, and was impervious at times last season before the injury. 32 is no age really for a keeper, and he brings massive big game and trophy experience to the team. Plus with such a ridiculously young squad like we have, we probably could do with a couple of older heads.

No, they're not interested at all they're not even bothered look at them ignoring United and simply chatting freely amongst themselves about the prospects ahead. The summer signing of Southampton and how to remember the names of the rest.

they would have celebrated like winning the title if Falcao had failed his medical last night.

Now he is injury prone...or he wont fit in the team....

oh wait all these players will not gel....

..and here I was worried about no EPL for two weeks.

reading the scousers is almost as entertaining..

This is the main fecking problem, there was a nice system going, LLL, nice one, L for the player, L for Liverpool, was good. Then the Ms came along, M for Markovic, M for Manquillo, M for Moreno, M for Mario, M for Manchester United.

This is where the rage, the self doubt, the fear, went into over drive. Now there is only worry, deluded opinions on the nature of how new signings will fit in, the ability of certain players. Is Old Trafford even bigger than Anfield?

It wouldn't matter anyway, van Gaal is out of his depth and we would have been better sticking with Moyes, Falcao is a crock so we can write him off already, he and Di Maria were panic buys anyway and won't at all in anyway strengthen us :(
