I've not been so excited about the future of United since Ferguson started to overhaul the club back when your nightmares began.
We have always been a huge club but these days have grown ten fold and more, clubs around us have grown and bought their way into the fray and all the while Liverpool has remained static, still a big name, sure but you've been unable to afford/attract any big signings despite the holy grail of top four. Your stadium remains as tin pot now as it did then and your financial position is second division in comparison to United and the oil rich, even Arsenal has moved away from you commercially.
My brave face isn't on because we've been consistently falling behind for years and suddenly hit the heights one season, my confident face is on because of the years of sustained success and the financial security in place that's required to maintain in modern football.
Your going to need to sustain this run against commercial giants with revenues that gulf your own, and your only allowed to spend what your company earns due to FFP, so it's all well and good popping along with your own brave face for a season or so but you won't stand in the way of corporate giants. If Rodgers really is the Demi God you believe him to be then one of them will just make him an offer he won't refuse (bit like the time he left his wife for a younger prettier model) loyalty eh
