Back to the player he used to be today. Took responsibility in possession and threaded a lot of balls through and obviously played that assist for the winner (and made a great cross for Mainoo before that). And pressed De Bruyne all game.

Excellent performance.

He shouldn't have that much responsability in that aspect, unless some day Amorin improvises him as a midfielder.

If Amorin at some point can create a mid that actually controls the game, it would come handy for Licha to arrive by surprise, Man Utd tends too many times to deliver the ball for him because he is press resistant and has always has a pass in him, but it's no t ideal and also sometimes he canbe caught too far form his own net and now Man Utd is playing with just three in the back.

The flick to Bernardo? was great, it shows how confident he is on his skills given the moment of the match (for them good and for the bad)

One of the most important positions is the player beside Ugarte. We need a mobile but very good passer of the footballer. A line breaker, deep lying playmaker, metronome, whatever you want to call it. A midfielder who routinely is in the highest percentiles for passes per game with a good amount of them going forward. God knows who that is, mind…!

That's why you have him in the side. Terrific passer of the ball and our whole defence was reasonably solid defensively.

Indeed (and if that player has some dribble in him, better).

It shows how much United is lacking in that department, that Ugarte and Licha are many times trying those risky balls or one/twos while they should have do them as a surprise, not constantly. Or if doing them constantly, with a player of the characteristics you've said as the usual receiver.

Today Ugarte and Licha between both must have put at least 6 to 8 "assists", adding changes of flanks and long balls to space that United sadly didn't take advantage till the very end. It's good stuff, but shouldn't be those two the ones trying it more.

His best game in a while. Great at playing the ball, confident and comfortable in defence.

Something about Haaland brings out his absolute best.

He’s clearly good at passing but he needs to back himself more. Spot the runners

I'm not 100% sure he will, he's the only left footed CB, asking harry to play with his left, absolutely no way.
Maguire has spent half his career playing as a left sided CB so that is not an issue, he's better as the middle one in a 3 though

What a player, man.

People always talk about his physical shortcomings when he gets dunked on, but I see +6ft defenders get dunked on weekly in the prem and it's never a talking point.

What he offers, however; very few do.

On the ball he’s elite. Probably the best defender in the world on the ball.

He never was that bad and Amorin perfectly knows how bad he needs someone with condifence, brains and skills down there to play his idea. Even if sometimes he would risk too much, or he can get owned on a header by a giant.

People it's extremely silly with the nitpicking , even today more than probably many would have found lots of mistakes if Man Utd ended loosing and Amad blew that pass.

He can be a better than some recent games? yes. Was him that awuful to be called (the always silly) "no good for EPL" or not even an skill player? certainly not, but it's a Forum, it's how Forums work.

Quite a few passes forward splitting their midfield and progressing the ball for us plus the lovely assist. Great game, more of this please

I've been critical of him because I think he's been a liability this year but he did a really good of making things difficult for Haaland and also played some great balls, especially for the winner. Hopefully it can be a precursor to a good run of form.

Probably his best performance of the season so far. He didn’t start very well and had many meh games, but not today

Oh my days. Just seen the highlights on MOTD (missed the game, been in a&e with my Little one all day) and that pass to Amad for the winner ; sexual
There was another erotic pass from Martinez - it should’ve resulted in a penalty if not for these fraudulent referees.

Hope the little one is doing well - same for me last week.

Much better today from Licha!

I've been very critical of him lately, but that was an amazing performance from him.

Just superb in all phases.

That was season one form today. Such a class player when on it. Hope he can build on this again now.

For me it was striking that whereas he lost flat out the duel with Milenkovic and dithered uncharacteristically on the back post during two of Forest’s goals, now he was one step ahead and just shoved off even Haaland with ease a couple of times.

The crosses to Mainoo and Amad were icing on the cake.

His passing from the back is instrumental. Reminds me of Carrick with those passes to feet, just cuts through defensive lines.

Didn’t have his usual potential red card brain fart too!

Who do you think that player is? What club is he playing for?
