Pogue Mahone
Closet Gooner.
He is quite sturdy but lacks pace, that's obvious.
You think Gakpo adapted better than Antony because he’s quicker?

I dont think hes any slower than Garnacho. I also dont think Gakpo is doing better just because hes quicker. He is quite sturdy but lacks pace, that's obvious.
We all know that Gakpo is not quick over 5 yards, and neither is Antony, but he is tall and strong, and allround a better baller than Antony who would be a better winger if he had more pace. You think Gakpo adapted better than Antony because he’s quicker?
Shame that little flick he did for Garnacho didn't come. Never knew he had that in him.
He doesn't find himself near the opponent's penalty box often but he regularly produces brilliant and imaginative pieces of play in deeper areas, I'm not sure why that this flick came as a surprise for you.Shame that little flick he did for Garnacho didn't come. Never knew he had that in him.

For all the criticism he receives here, it's always noticeable with him that he has a tendency to produce at least one moment of excellent technique in some form of skill. The prior match that volley deserved to be a goal and right now it can be made a full highlight of nutmegs, "pisadas", passes, dribbles and many pieces of skill from his tenure so far in Man Utd. That vid would show also how many times those plays didn't end as it should in some sort of direct assist, a pre assist, a pass with advantage, etc. The day this team starts to actually perform more clever, better, more consistently, those plays would end producing better results.

I know he's technically very good, he's very good at little flicks and turns on the ball deeper, maybe it was just because it was in the final third, just never really saw him doing something like in that area.
Applies to every team on the planet. And all those highlights don't mean much when his defending is problematic as this is his main objective. I thought, he was alright today. But its nothing to write home about. Lets make sure, we keep the glowing reviews in check because it only increases the fall of those reality checks. For all the criticism he receives here, it's always noticeable with him that he has a tendency to produce at least one moment of excellent technique in some form of skill. Fair enough. When somebody mentions "technical excellence" and personal highlights of technical feats then it reads as glowing to some folks. And about the defending, it isn't just my view, just read this exact thread here for the majority of this season. I think, it was good to see him being quite comfortable today against a rather aggressive and physical opponent. But on the other hand it was last years 3rd in the Czech league so...There is no glowing review, just an aswer regarding the subject in question and that him as a player has a tendency to do such stuff.
And I do not share your view at all regarding his defending, so let's beg to differ.

He's not going to last in this system. It's obvious to anyone paying attention.I don't like him as a wide CB at all, it exposes all of his weaknesses. He should be the middle CB or he should make way for someone else.
Mazraoui and Yoro will be playing more going forward, Licha will be a rotation player like MaguireWorry for him in a back three. Takes away from his strengths and seems to amplify the weaknesses so far.
I'm not 100% sure he will, he's the only left footed CB, asking harry to play with his left, absolutely no way.Mazraoui and Yoro will be playing more going forward, Licha will be a rotation player like Maguire
Think this was his best example of quality with the ball. Up against good players, even if they arent in the best form. Especially in the 2nd half he was constantly finding forward passes down the left side, played some great cross field passes over to Amad and Mazraoui and played the perfect pass for Amad to run onto for the winner.
