Lionel Messi

Imagine if Messi went to Leeds, how crazy would that be for him to play under 'El loco' and reignite that rivalry with us?

On another note, if Messi goes to City should we bring Ronny back and make Manchester the football capital of the world?

Don't think it'll happen, if he comes to the EPL, City is most likely, but I can hear Jose's sales pitch - "come and work with the Special One, record of winning trophies, big ambitions for Spurs, etc." As I say, just an intriguing thought, and Jose likes his marquee players.
And I can hear Messi laughing at him.

He was amazing there (won CL anyway), but was he considered a top manager when he was hired? Certainly hasn't been since
Hmm good question, I didn't think they took a gamble when they hired him, because it felt like a match made in heaven.

But remember Messi if he comes to the PL is coming to the most marketed league .. not going to Italy
Yeah but nobody has really followed Ronaldo across. These 2 are beyond marketing so it doesn't really apply to them. His move was pretty well publicised!

YT video views for Juve pre Ronaldo, around 100-200k if I recall, then with Ronaldo it jumped to 4-5 million.

City with Messi will be a huge draw for many around the world and will raise the profile of them immensely.

I think he does have a point.

I remember Eleven sports acquired rights to the Seria A when Ronaldo moved and I got a subscription just to watch him. Cancelled my subscription after 3 games cause the Seria A was such a bore fest. I don't think that will be the case here.

Signing Pep was already absolutely massive for them, signing Lionel fecking Messi would be on a whole other stratosphere unfortunately
In order to get Pep they had to buy his brother a club in Spain which is likely worth 100s of millions. I wonder what they are going to buy Messi's family.

Interested to know but if you were to shell out a record/near record fee, would you not rather Neymar or even Mbappe? With the latter you essentially guarantee 10 years of elite player and he has so much raw potential, if Pep can improve him he'll tear up the PL for a decade.

Mbappe for sure if we were to shell out that sort of money. However, I think the only way Messi could end up at City is for a much reduced fee.

As for Neymar, I really wouldn't want him anywhere near the club. Just do not like him one bit.

If Messi ends up going to City, we're gonna need Stoke to get promoted ASAP in order to see if he can actually do it on a wet, cold Wednesday night in Stoke.

Look, god forbid, Messi signs for City it will ultimately be their downfall......
2 years max for Messi and more importantly for Pep (maybe only 1 of screws up CL again) - once Pep has gone (and obviously Messi) then the walls will come falling down......who gonna take that on after? Doomed for failure - it will be their post-Fergie era.....
Worst case scenario we have 2 years of pain.....

Obviously, in terms of people. But like I said - it's sports washing. Not the same as Barcelona!

My point was that it's sad that we can't compete with that! (I totally agree that he will end up at City btw if he leaves Barca)
Pep was supposed to be the same, he went City. Xavi had no problem going Quatar

They get Messi we get David Brooks, who isn't 33 by the way.
No brainer.

City fans on twitter saying that Aguero has removed the "10" from his instagram name.

That will get the Blue Moon muppet juices flowing
Its really happening isn't it. So will he play as a false 9? Off the right?
