Sky reporting he was shocked at the timing and didn't see it coming.

If true it's very fitting.

The timing of this makes me hopeful that they made a breakthrough for a candidate to join mid-season. To be honest I’d have thought the next logical time to have done this would have been the next international break in two weeks time.

Club statement also doesn’t really say RVN has until the end of the season either, which the pessimist in me was expecting.

City probably has already done the groundwork to get Amorim ready to replace Pep.

I believe so too. We are probably in agreement with someone or very close. Nagelsmann?

Nagelsmann or Amorim should be the top 2 targets.

I doubt Inzaghi or Alonso are interested but would also be up there if they were.

Iraola or Hoeneß would be brave and pretty exciting appointments.

Frank and Xavi are in 'well at least they're not Southgate/Potter/Howe' territory. You'd back them but not as exciting as the other 6 I mentioned.
I’d prefer Potter to Thomas Frank personally

Neither should be United manager though

If there’s a chance behind the scenes for Nagelsmann then I guess that’s one they’ll try for

Thank goodness managers don't see clubs the same way fans see them. Most managers would jump at the chance to manage the club even in it's current state. We are still a huge huge draw to any manager who has confidence in their abilities. The manager that takes United back to the top will be seen as an all time great just off that alone. I know some fans on here think our club is not desirable but trust me it will be to 99% of managers out there, including the likes of Nagelsman.

How would he command respect out of our primmadonnas.. they called Rangnick Ted Lasso
Most of those players aren't here. Lindelof, Maguire, Dalot, Shaw, Bruno, Rashford left. 2 of those will go next summer - Shaw probably too.

I think the game has moved on. Players respect the type of football you want to play with them more than the prestige of the manager itself.

Amorim plays a 3-4-3. We do not have the squad currently to suit his tactics. I prefer Nagelsman or Xavi.

Thats the only way to judge a managerial term but it has absolutely nothing to do with whether he was the right decision at the time.

There are literally two managers on the planet who you could pick and say for sure they're the correct appoappointment.

None of the others warrant that kind of assurance. Especially not a 50 year old who had only performed for Ajax in Holland.

Add to that how ETH actually performed. He wasn't the right pick.

Correct. Managers with confidence in their ability to manage United would not think twice.

Nagelsmann is my choice but is he really know for his charisma?
He definitely comes off as charismatic. Of course, he has other things going for him. Experience of managing Bayern, quite young, tactically adept. If we are looking for a head coach, then he fits the bill.

I just want to watch us have some intensity. I’m so fecking sick of watching zombie football.

Doesn’t matter who’s been in charge since Sir Alex. We’ve wasted so much time in matches farting about and only got going once we’ve had our nose bloodied.

I want blood and thunder from the off.

*just seen the Ornstein tweet. Is he the one?

I just said earlier how big this club was. Most thought Amorim wouldn't leave Sporting for us right away. Come on, WE ARE UNITED. Get in!!!!!!
