Martial? De Gea? Vidic? Just to name a few off the top of my head. Lesser known names at the time of purchase that have paid off massively.

De Gea was probably well known to be fair, but he wasn't my first choice at the time. I remember us being linked to several goalies and wanting De Gea the least out of all of them.

Schalke have a couple of players who are worthy of being scoutet and I imagine Sporting do too.

Rooney is getting slower. Lingard isn't good enough.

Our full backs are hardly setting people alight either.

The midfield is full of slow pokes. Not even going to mention names.

Either Lingard or Mata starts on the right as we are right now. We need pace in attack, especially both wings.

It's just the provisional squad which atm rather means an endorsement of his potential than his current ability. And tbh Schürrle, Draxler and Podolski made it, too and I wouldn't be surprised if two or even all three of them make it into the final squad.

Sane, Brandt, Kimmich and Bellarabi seem the likeliest cuts to me

That wasn't the question of who's crap or not. In our attack only Mata and Fellaini are slow. Rooney isn't as quick as he use to be but he would be fast enough if surrounded by better quality. I would take Mahrez right now and he isn't lightening quick.. Our attack isn't slow there just not very good that's all.

If you talk to people close to the club, they say Meyer got a bit arrogant by the hype around him. He's still a very talented player IMO.

Goretzka has suffered some injuries over the course of the season. Very talented but he was required to carry too much responsibility IMHO.
 
This to me looks like one of those that the the press is building up to go, "Another one snubs Manchester United", when he signs for City.

I'm 75% confident he'll still play for Schalke next season. In this case I expect to read in this thread sentences like 'no big club made him an offer' or 'no elite club was willing to take the risk'. :lol: (Not from you but from other Caf users.)
 
It would be great to have a player called Leroy though. Of that there is no doubt.
 
Sane would certainly give us a better option on the right wing than we have at present. Not sure we'd want to pay the money Schalke demand though.

He likes to have a small squad. He might like sane, but also depends if he thinks, he needs it. I think his priority will be central midfield and defense rather than attacking players. He has Navas, kevin,sterling, silva, ilhenacho already essentially for 3 places

I really like Hojbjerg. Didn't get a proper look in at Bayern, but he seemed to have it all for a young central midfielder.
