Leon Goretzka | Bayern player in the summer

Why wouldn't he join Liverpool?
 
One way or the other, we´ll get that decision pretty soon. Two weeks till the Bundesliga starts again, and Goretzka said he´ll make his decision in early January. Schalke simply has to consider whether it makes sense to sell him for say €20-25M right now, or keep him for their own CL spots push, that will result in similar financial returns, if successful.

At the same time Goretzka has to decide whether a move now hurts or helps his World Cup chances. I think he´s a squad lock, but this is Germany.

For Bayern, Barcelona, Juventus or Liverpool he´s obviously attractive now, cause he´s still CL eligible.

Can't see him going midseason. He'll leave at the end on a free and Schalke have come to terms with that (after all, they've done it before with Matip and Kolasinac). At least this time they've got a good chance of qualifying for the Champions League.

apart from one article that came from a rubbish tabloid, there is no suggestion that they even are after him. Don't they need a defensive / number 6 more? I don't see why they even go for him, it would be a luxury signing rather than necessity. Keita is already going there.

I would think Goretzka will end up at Bayern Munich.
 
Was always going to end up at Bayern. German football players generally dont like going abroad if they can go to Bayern.
 
Dont think we were ever really in the deal, you can always monitor the situation, but United wasnt a likely destination. Would have been nice on a free though, terrific business.

Nah, the clubs most linked were Bayern and Liverpool. Glad he's not gone to Liverpool - especially with Can leaving them in the summer and probably Coutinho too.
 
Shame but with Bayern in it was always difficult. Would be a great signing for free, now we probably have to spend big for someone like Savic.
 
If this means Vidal will be available, then i wouldn't be against a 3 year contract for him even though he will be 31 by may.
 
So Barcelona will really sign Coutinho or Arthur.
We should go for Vidal. But i know its not gonna happen.

You really shouldn't. Vidal's been horrible when played as a defensive or central midfielder. He'd only make sense if utilized close to the box.
 
If its true, the bayern deal was probably done back last summer. All sorted between club and player with just an announcement due.

This would have been us had the premier league not been invaded by the Russians and Arabs. Bayern just hit the jackpot being the only super club in the league. We would have been the same had Abu Dhabi and Roman not jumped in.

What should the other clubs do? Bayern pays by far the most and chances of trophies are the best there too.
 
People say look at bayern how good they do their business. Two things help them a lot
1. They can literally poach the best talents from bundesliga

2. Germany for past decade have produced some of the best talents which England do not have.

I think with Matic as DM and Vidal + Pogba in the midfield three could work.
 
Why pay tens of millions when you can get quality CM's on a free...
 
I hope he will be up for it. Personally I'd have preferred to see him another year at Schalke, but if it was between joining Bayern and leaving the Bundesliga for him, I'm glad it turned out this way (as long as it's all true).
