United only selling point here is first team football. He's not guaranteed that at Real, albeit he can stay where he is for a season and move to Real for free. It's hard to see a young player turning them down, given the side they are building.

Lille are pushing him to come here, he wont go to Real as they cant afford him thats why they only offered 17m

He could always just reject our offer, they can't FORCE him to leave. They will get compensation due to his age and they'll take into account previous offers etc.

His contract ends next year. Classic Real move. Why spend big when they will get him for free next year. I bet that Yoro will not mind waiting one year.

fecking Real.

People on here are so fecking negative

Real Madrid isn't the be all and end all of football.

We wouldn’t bid without an indication from the players’ agent that he was willing to join. And if we have the clearly haven’t learnt our lesson from the De Jong saga.

Real seem to have an agreement with the player

Romano saying our bid has been accepted

That will piss Madrid off as they were tying to get him on the cheap (hes out of contract next summer).

Anyway just let him have a Madrid clause in his contract, that we will let him go if a bid is made for £80mil or something.

I think this is overblown. There's nothing wrong with a preference, we're no where near the level of Madrid and they have a core of the national team there. If they don't want to spend more than 20m on him, I'm sure he won't feel super warm to them. I'm sure he'll be super happy to be part of a big club in either option.
If he waits 6 months, he gets at least half of that as a signing bonus

People saying a clause to leave for Madrid in 3-4 years, but that would be a strange and bad move for us.

Yoro is the biggest potential centre back out there, but his current level is still very reflective of his age. He has a fair bit of development still to do. To really get the most out of the time and development you give to a young player, we’d need at least 5-6 seasons out of him before looking to let him go.

No, the player seems to have a preference for Madrid. I don't recall seeing anywhere that anything has been agreed.

Lets not be naive here. Its evident that they have made a deal with the player. That's something Real has been doing at least since Zidane times. Whether United can persuade him to look at our way instead remains to be seen.

Verbal perhaps. That's nothing.

Keane agreed to sign for Blackburn, Gazza to United etc...

Madrid willing to lowball cause they know he only wants them.

The kid’s 18. He can win the starting job here or at least be the third CB if we also get De Ligt. He’ll get tons of games and great experience and be a Madrid player by his early 20s.

No problem signing him with the understanding that we’ll let him move to Madrid in 2-3 years if the price is right as long as he will put his head down, be a professional and work hard for the club while he’s here.

When the time comes, he’ll be a more seasoned player ready to hit the ground running at Madrid, we’ll have a more valuable asset than the one we acquired and we’ll get a good fee or top player in return. All parties win.

Yeah they're doing the same shite with Alphonso Davies.

Damn, I am not accustomed to paying attention to our transfer business till well, well further into the summer. This feels weird.

Real had made it an art and a way how to conduct their business. United had a better bid for Beckham from Barca. Beckham refused Barca and he threatened to stay at United unless we sell to Real on their terms. Then there were the likes of RVN who started to act weird up until Real showed up and they bought him for a cut price. They did the same with Camavinga.

That doesn't mean that we shouldn't try. United can offer him a great salary + first team football. However we're facing an uphill battle.

The sell to would be that you're 18 years old, come to United and you get a platform to prove you're the player that you are believed to be while getting paid good money. Achieve global stardom/recognition and then by the time you're 23, if you want to move to Madrid then you'll move there with a strong resume to cement your place as the man at the back in Madrid from the off.

Throw in an unofficial clause or gentlemens agreement towards selling him there for a fair price in a few years if you have to

Madrid offered a low ball and said they want to wait till he costs less while we offered 50mil and want him now. Doesn't that show him who values him more? There's a good chance he will notice that, plus see the business and project we're developing and want to be involved. We are still Manchester Utd at the end of the day, we currently have world class and promising young players on the verge of signing for us. It's not clear cut that he will just want Madrid as these journos suggest.

The thing is if he joins us and develops then he most likely joins Madrid at some point in his career anyway and we make a massive profit on him.

That would probably be pretty illegal on Lille's part.

It wouldn't be, but it also wouldn't be for a full season. He will probably sit out until January and Real would get him for the same money midway through the year instead. But he will almost certainly sit out until January.

Look sign for us, then in 3 years you can move to RM and we receive an exceptional fee. Everyone is happy.
