Considering he’s 18 and hasn’t been in the team much, thought it was a good performance, his short passing was especially good, crisp, first time passes forward were great.

Definitely the sort of player we’ve been missing I think with his technical ability and athleticism. Very promising signs for the future.

Made some mistakes on the goals along with several other older and more experienced teammates. On the other hand he won the ball the most of our CBs by a decent margin and had some good bits of play.

Young and learning.

I don't think he's ready for the first team. I don't want to be too harsh since he's so young and seems to have a lot of potential but I'm not seeing it on the field yet. His medium to long range passing is poor and he's too weak for my liking.

You can see the potential bursting out of this lad - the fact that he can nick the ball off an attacker in a duel and pass the ball around slickly with decent footwork and agility at his age is immense.

Looking forward to him being cultivated into a classy ball-playing CB a la Rio or Varane.

People forget that he is 18 and this is just his second or third competitive start. He will be OK as he has the base attributes needed in the modern game. The rest will come with more experience and natural growth.

I did legitimately forget he was 18. Insane, he looks and plays as well as well established CB’s in their prime

Don't know what you were watching. Was easily our best CB last night.

I feel like he 'looks' a bit clumsy on the ball, but when he does decide to promote the ball up the field he seems to do it well. My little worry from his previous games was that he very rarely did that and he seemed to be playing it way too safe, basically just passing it sideways and backwards constantly. In this game he played forwards a lot more and it was quite effective.

Give him a run of games and he could be the first defender on the team sheet in a not too distant future.
Hard to find holes in his game apart from inexperience and rustiness. Thats the type of defenders we need to evolve as a team.

Clearly very talented but still seems to jave things to learn defensively

Guess the issue with paying what we did for him is it could get you a high quality ready made centre back or two decent players when we have issues in so many areas of our team

He plays like Carrick, only from the back. The way he lets the ball just run and plays either a pass on the first touch or uses a perfectly timed touch to place the ball for a pass is so reminiscent of Carrick. It may look a little slow because he doesn't look busy, just like people went on about Carrick for some time, but in reality, he just moves the ball so elegantly - one touch passing, two touch passing - perfect. His first touch is also impeccable.

His positioning and awareness also appear to be well beyond that of his age and most older established players by that. Not sure about his strength or aerial ability yet, but he looks a solid unit.

We also finally have a fast centre back. Still unsure if he is Rio-esque, but he did outpace Son with relative ease when he for once didn't anticipate the game. The thing is, just like Rio, he rarely finds himself in a foot race - it's interesting to see how often De Ligt chases players, for instance, but Yoro, with greater speed rarely ever does.

Easily the most ridiculous take I’ve heard in here for a while.

You are too harsh, and if I may so say, also utterly in the wrong.

Spotted another one whose ball knowledge I will utterly ignore.

It’s a super lazy comparison I know but he really is quite Rio like. How he moves, how he runs, even his very slightly awkward style. We forget he’s only 19. He hasn’t developed physically fully so he’ll get fitter and stronger in the next couple of years. What a player we have here.

Agree. He's a long way away from being ready for this level.

I think he needs a loan move in January.

His passing is very good but the rest of his game leaves a lot to be desired.

If he builds on what we saw today then I have no worries about that position for a while.

He’s gonna need to bulk up but we have to be careful not to make him more injury prone or less agile as he’s getting stronger.

Given we're always on the verge of a CB injury crisis I don't think there's any chance of him going on loan.

It'll be the type of season where towards the end a lot of the games will be borderline meaningless. Reckon he'll get plenty of game time then.

He doesn't need a loan move. He needs to get some decent game time which our squad situation and formation does have in store for him, maybe not necessarily in the toughest games yet. And then the kind of patience that is appropriate for a 19 year old CB.
He certainly looks like he can be a top player, that he isn't yet is natural. How hard can it be to reign in short term expectations.

His passing is very good. No other defender on the team is as progressive with his passing.

He was a bit shaky with some of his positioning but that is understable as he's just getting in the team.

We have a baller on our hands though for sure.

I do wonder what some people watch. If you couldn’t see the positives from him yesterday I’m not sure what your looking at.

One instant he turned an attacker with ease and began an attack.

Looks very comfortable in the ball.

Wonder if he's comfortable playing LCB. Not really convinced by Martinez anymore and it seems like Yoro is half decent on the ball. I would like to see how a back three of him, Maguire/De Ligt and Mazraoui fare.

He needs to react quicker on their first goal, he's level with Solanke when Porro takes his shot. The difference is he's just stood there until Bayindir makes the save whereas Solanke immediately moves in anticipation of it coming back to him.

Promising start overall though.

True. It does feel like the league is a bit of a write off. The other issue is that not many teams play with a back three.

It's more that people have put way too much expectation on him.

He’s clearly a massive massive talent. INEOS will have been scouting him for the last few years. If he stays injury free and we keep developing him slowly I think he’ll be one of the best defenders in the league for us for hopefully a few years at least.

Really like how he plays his passes, nice and firm without blasting it. Gives the receiver options in terms of what they want to do with the ball.

Really impressed my last night. His talent is obvious and is a great foundation for him to build on. A pure footballer.

Same as when we bought Amad.

22 league games to go and we are only 6 points behind 4th place team. League is not written off.
