I don’t think he was as bad as a lot are making out. He didn’t have any stupid moments like a lot of our senior players did,

Did ok in a tough game to start. Wood clearly was targeting him and it will have been an education for him in a way.

He would want to find some aggression from somewhere and quick.

It's very, very rare for a teenager to be a top class premier league central defender straight off the bat. It's a position that most players only hit their peak in mid to late 20s. As fans we need to be patient. I see most fans having him as the starting RCB but it's probably better for his development to ease him in and out of the team, and let him build up his experience and confidence.

Yeah it’s a little problematic because there is gonna be pressure on him. If he was coming into our 2009 team with Rio, Veeda and Evans, as Smalling did then it’s great. Issue being is we have a bunch of generally now bang average centre halves who are completely unsuited to Amorim’s tactics because they all have the athletic grace and guile of C-3PO. So by virtue of having some pace and athleticism I think Amorim will favour Yoro and then that will come with its own pressure and expectation.

I thought he was quite disappointing. Didn't scream quality to be honest........ But he's a teenager on his full debut in a new league, coming back from injury etc so I am not worried in the slightest. He needs a year or two of patience.

I didn't think he looked out of place, although admittedly it was a low bar. This is a season to be patient i'm afraid.

Obviously he needs time to develop and get used to playing in this league, that’s a no brainer.

I just think it’s funny how many people in here had him as an automatic first choice defender before they’d seen him play a single minute of competitive football for us. Maybe if people hadn’t put so much faith in a teenage defender saving our season they wouldn’t have been left so disappointed.

Man City 1:2 Man Utd New
Needs to get used to the physicality of the league. Looks a little bit lightweight.

Tottenham 4:3 Man Utd New
Thought he was good tonight. Promising for the future.

Decent, but doesn't really look ready for the PL for me. Passing was quite poor.

Edit: you guys might be right, thought his longer passes was a bit off though, still think he needs to get stronger in the physical battles, Maz should be the starter at rcb for now.

Kids the real deal, I just hope we sort out our defence before they drag him down to their level. Martinez already looks a shadow of the player we seen in his first season. This lad needs to be managed very carefully.

You can see the potential, has the attributes to play that role on right of back 3. Few nervy moments but very early days.

Was it? I thought he looked pretty comfortable on the ball. For such a young central defender, you can see the hype; I’m glad we bought De Ligt as well though.

Really? I thought it was great having a CB that is passing faster into the CMs. He wasn’t holding onto the ball for too long like some of our other CBs do.

Hard to judge a young defender when we conceded 4, even though he wasn’t personally at fault for either of them

First 10-15 minutes looked a bit shaky but after that he was class. Very promising display

Strange comment. His passing was crisp and decisive.

He could be stronger and more aware but that’s comes with growth and Prem experience. His passing wasn’t an issue to me. I’m pretty sure his passing accuracy was in the low 90’s for accuracy. Good considering he was finding players in good pockets not just safe sideways passes.

Disagree. His passing on the ground is crisp and effortless off both feet. His defending is good too. Those long legs really come in handy, moves very smoothly, like he glides around the pitch. He's absolutely PL ready just needs to manage the long passes and switches of play.

Thought he did ok, definitely room for improvement. Thought he was slow to react to the overlap on the Kulu goal and even the tackle on Son (which was very good) came about because he was slow to react and didn’t read it well.

Feels a bit critical as clearly talented and will be a very good player for us, looked far more the experienced defender than Licha that’s for sure!

Impressive performance. You’d ideally want a young lad like this to come through alongside an established world class centre back. Who can take him under his wing (as Vidic did with Evans) The fact he’s looked so good despite playing alongside different defenders every game is really impressive. The kid’s a baller.

I like the look of him. He's composed, has really good physical attributes, and also seems to know when to just clear or go into a slide tackle.

The lad is 18, and looks like someone I wouldn't mind being a starter when we build the squad over the summer.
