La Liga - 2014/15

Watching Barca players refuse to take any risks in their passing is so frustrating and I dont even support them

Probably the wrong time to say this considering Ronaldo scored yet another hat trick yesterday....
Though at his best, Messi>Ronaldo, while Ronaldo has been better the last couple of years.

I do think Suarez doesn't suit Barca though. He's best as the main man, not playing a supporting role, and pushing Messi deeper takes away some of Messi's goals which you really don't want to do.
messi scored two hattricks a couple of weeks ago
with his first, he beat the la liga all time scoring record at 27
with his second, he beat the CL all time scoring record at 27

one of those hattricks was done entirely with his right foot, when he is a leftie

and he didnt dive

This is going to be one of those games where a well drilled were organised team highlight how one dimensional Barcelona are.

Suarez doesn't look at his best in this slow possession based system.
Was always better playing counter attacking football, his technique isn't on the level of the other Barca players and generally his touch is a bit clumsy, or inconsistent at least.

 give over marcos.

I think Suarez could be great for Barca. I think he's a victim of a mediocre manager and their insistence on persisting with the same tired system, which has really been sussed by a lot of teams now

Messi equalizes. Fantastic finish

The Messi vs Ronaldo debates are absolutely everywhere.

That's not relevant in terms of weather a player is good or not, though!

And Ronaldo beat the record for most hattricks in the Spanish league, also the record for most goals in a CL season. First player to reach 200 goals in just 178 matches. Is it that hard to praise both without this endless Ronaldo vs Messi bickering?

Great goal by Messi. Had to be him.

To another matter, for those of you who follow Barcelona: Is Bravo that good? I mean, I expected ter Stegen to become first choice at once given his reputation?
He has done very well so far imo and is a big part of why they have kept so many clean sheets. He was Barcelona's best player last week and saved them many times vs Valencia. Without his great efforts to keep them in the game by repeatedly making save after save they would certainly not have picked up three points last week and in the end were very lucky to do so.

I swear Messi is probably the best finisher in the world from that area just outside the box. Cristiano and Kun are the best inside the box.

It really is shocking how much Barça are relying on Messi right now. As good as he is, you won't win anything doing that.

Cheers.

Absolutely incredible at precise finishing from awkward positions like that.

What an absolutely brilliant finish by Messi. Espanyol have been pretty poor in front of goal and a heavy touch moments before Messi's goal prevented them from going two up which was not too long after they had another chance which was not taken.

Lately yep, though not so long ago that would have been Messi comfortably, can't remember the last time he chipped a keeper, used to be his trademark.

That was as pin point and well placed a shot as you'll ever see.

Barcelona were shambolic though, that's as much of a one man show as I've seen. The rest are just happy to tippy tappy it round in circles in midfield.

Espanyol are going to ruin missing those counter attack chances. Defending like that for 90 min is huge task against a forward line of so much skill and ability.

Well atleast its putting to bed Cal's argument that Messi is only this good because he's playing with the likes of Xavi/Iniesta.

Bravo is good and he's experienced. I didn't see that much of Stegen prior to Barca, and he hasn't had many chances since the move, but the odd game he's had for them so far has done nothing to suggest he's as good as Bravo. He's only 22 though so he's got plenty of time.

Meanwhile in other non-news, Barca are a one man team (well, they aren't but the other 10 wouldn't be second in La Liga with a chance of going top for Christmas.)

That should be a big wake up call for Luis Enrique. Barcelona seem to have tried to shake off that 'Messdependencia' tag ever since Martino arrived, and quite frankly it's failed. He's their best player by a country mile, make use of it whilst you can, he won't be there forever.

BTW, I thought that goal went wide at first, the net didn't even shake!

The way LE plays this team Ibra would be a hit playing behind Messi because his little flicks and tricks to Neymar and Messi would be devastating, Suarez is just not thriving with the lack of space or freedom he enjoyed at Anfield.

I think any good coach would get a lot more out of an attacking trident of Neymar, Suarez and Messi. Think Enrique is just a mediocre coach who's been wheeled in to follow on with the exact same tired system.

Lucho Out :(

he has to go. Nothing wrong with the players, it's the coach. No motivation, no passion, no tactics. One of the most creative midfields in history has become one of the most clueless and predictable.

and we would have been 6th or 7th if it wasn't for Messi.

Edit: Board out too , NOW.
