Dreadful play by Busquets, dispossessed, then Pique taken to the cleaners again. Lovely finish from Garcia though
 
1-0 Espanyol - Busquets at fault. Still bemused how so many rate him. Made to look great by the rest of his team mates when Barcelona were at their peak. now they're struggling he's getting exposed... big time.
 
Why is it when Busquets is crowded out he'd rather hang on to the ball and look for a free kick than just pass the ball back? He's been caught out so many times.
 
Messi trying to find Xavi's penetrating run for the 3rd time now... he's just playing straight up MF today or what :lol: heavily involved in build-up of every Barça attack so far
 
Suarez looks a little lost there, and Messi looks like he's being completely wasted out wide.
 
Probably about time Barcelona dropped the holding mid completely. Busquets is of no use, and Messi seems to be playing deeper anyway, why not play him off Suarez with Neymar and Alves or Pedro out wide?
 
Messi being Ronaldinho like, just dropping deep to play other runners in. The reluctance to take on players was the beginning of the end for Dinho.
 
Messi's the best finisher at the club. And Enrique seems to have geared it all towards using him as the creator. I don't really see the logic.
 
Neymar trying to take on too many people again, needed to release it quicker.
 
The Espanyol player should have done better there. Very tame shot in the end.
 
Why Suarez doesn't get involved in free kicks? He and Messi with right-left foot combo can cause lots of confusion to GK and wall.
 
Great free-kick by Messi and he was quite unlucky. Very poor finish by Sergio Garcia a few moments earlier it had to be said. He could have put Espanyol in a great position to win the match.
 
Barcelona would be absoloutely nothing without Messi. They've essentially been a one man team all season. Terrible defence, invisible midfield, one player driving their entire attack. God help them if he suffers another muscle injury.

Harsh on Neymar who's been more clinical than Messi a lot of the time.
 
fecking hell. Messi is going to have to finish off his own chances at this rate, no one else looks up to it.
 
Absolutely perfect pass by Messi to find Alba. Barcelona are surely going to score eventually and it is very hard to imagine Messi not being involved in it. Almost everything Barcelona have created has come though him.
 
To another matter, for those of you who follow Barcelona: Is Bravo that good? I mean, I expected ter Stegen to become first choice at once given his reputation?

Probably the wrong time to say this considering Ronaldo scored yet another hat trick yesterday....
Though at his best, Messi>Ronaldo, while Ronaldo has been better the last couple of years.

I do think Suarez doesn't suit Barca though. He's best as the main man, not playing a supporting role, and pushing Messi deeper takes away some of Messi's goals which you really don't want to do.

Barcelona really need to adopt some sort of counter attacking system. Everytime they get hit on one themselves they regain possession then pass it around their defence letting the opposition re-organise. If that's come from higher up then it's awful on the coaches behalf.
 
Barca piling the pressure on, Messi looking wide awake and dangerous, but they so nearly went two goals down.
