Kylian Mbappe | PSG

So argubly the best goalkeeper in the world is average. Good man.
He's wasn't average but absolutely shite against Portugal, maybe worst keeper performance of the tournament.

Cant count
I mean such an obvious thing to say, I hoped there was some other meaning. Kinda dissapointed

For Spain most definitely yes, learn to read please.

With a terrible wall placement for the 3rd too

Well then you dont even believe your own comments because if you did youd see it as easy money wouldnt you but you even know he wont be winning the Balon Dor anytime soon. And if he stays at PSG he wont be winning it. Its 27 years since a player playing for a French club won it, and that was the only time... https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ballon_d'Or
Don't be like that.

I am going to tell you some youth players I watched and won the award.

Cristiano with 17 on a friendly vs Betis from Denilson and Joaquin, scored a screamer. 1 year later vs O' Shea another friendly almost killed him. Same Summer on a Toulon tournament destroyed Argentina on a final they won 3:0. The rest is history.

Lionel Messi, repeat and repeat the same mode again, just look at his first game vs Mourinho Chelsea.

Neymar just compare the things he did in Brazil with the other players around him.

This to say I don't need to be a scout to say the first game I watched from Mbappé was on a under 19 Euro semifinal vs Portugal where France won 3:1 and he scored 2 goals. 7 or 8 months later he was playing at the Ettihad vs City and did exactly the same things.

This just to say what he did yesterday didn't suprised me one bit. I even think with the same age he is better than Cristiano, Henry, probably Neymar, the only one better than him was Nazário with the same age.

Not comparing with Messi, because its a total different type of player. Only injuries will stop him, playing for PSG will not make any difference.

I am surprised people compare him to Henry(has to be because he's French)

Stylistically, he is eerily similar to Ronaldo Nazario before his knee injuries.

And he's still young.

I'd trade Martial and Rashford for him.
There are some similarities with Henry but yeah El Phenom is the player he reminds me of the most. It’s the directness and Just his movement, his willingness to go in behind.

As for trading just not sure. I think Martial has more technical ability than Mbappe but the major difference is that Mbappe makes the right choices, makes things happen and is more effective. Can’t ignore those things, wouldn’t mind seeing those two as a pair with Dembele behind them.

I bet you £10 he wont win the Balon Dor. If you win Ill pay you on paypal, if I dont pay you can get admin to give me any tagline you want.
Its not far if youre so sure. Put your money where your mouth is. £5 even.

What is wrong with you? He needs to agree to a bet to prove himself right if he doesn't agree with you? Cut it out.

His performance yesterday was just a pure joy to watch. Imagine it if he joined us, imagine it. Chances of it happening rather slim to none though.

Im not a deep ***********. Theres no hidden meaning.

Personally, Ive seen heaps of players worthy of winning the award that didnt. I think its because the voting is biased. Thats just my opinion though, I dont expect you to have the same one. But thats the reason I believe that while Mbappe plays for PSG if they dont win the CL he will not be considered for the award, in my opinion. And, even if France win the World Cup he wont win it.
What is wrong with you? He needs to agree to a bet to prove himself right if he doesn't agree with you? Cut it out.
Its not about whether he agrees with me or not. He could have just agreed to disgree but as you can see he keeps coming back. Im happy to leave it as is. This hasnt got much to do with you anyway, unless friendly bets are against the forum rules?

He has already told you he's not interested in a bet but you're still pushing it. You could follow your own advice and agree to disagree with him.

"Pushing it" is a bit of an exaggeration isnt it.

Can't United just do a private investigation on PSG making UEFA ban them and we get this guy. Although he would go to Madrid then. PSG have two next Balon d'Or winners. Rest of the clubs can weep.

Great post, keep it up.

Then we will never agree on this issue ;) Cheers

Obviously we won't, but crying about it makes you salty as feck. English clubs have more money nowadays and all the best European managers, so all ingredients needed to break the Spanish hegemony are there.

"Pushing it" is a bit of an exaggeration isnt it.

I hope the message is clear because getting into a discussion about what qualifies as "pushing it" is not my idea of a Sunday afternoon. I doubt you'd disagree.

The hype is getting a bit too much now. Great player but there's a reason he's compared to R9 and not Messi or CR. Messi scored a hat trick v Madrid at 19. Ronaldo was tearing shit up in the PL at 19, even though he lacked some end product. Rooney Euro 2004 aswell > Mbappe WC 2018. People really wetting their knickers over Mbappe for 1 great game. What about Harry Kane who's scored 5 goals at the WC in 2 games and is still doubted?

Did he really run 39km/hour yesterday? If so, is it the fastest a football player has ever run?

Heck, Bolt ran 44km/hour, Mbappe at 39 km/hour is actually quite close.

He will get Ballon D'Or 2020.

He's wasn't average but absolutely shite against Portugal, maybe worst keeper performance of the tournament.

Far from it. He made one mistake. One goal was penalty and other was superb free kick which no keeper would have saved. Saying it's worst keeper performace is stretching it when there are keeper who have scored own goals too IIRC.

For running extremely fast?

I joke I joke. Will be interesting to see people’s excuses when he doesn’t win in 2020. What’s that the next Euro’s? Looking forward to a couple of players developments.

I think that Ronaldo and Messi will inevitably decline during the next 2 seasons, and I have never been totally convinced on Neymar. If Mbappe continues his rapid development, he will eclipse Neymar soon enough.

He's similar to Ronaldo in how he just runs at defenses and beats them with his incredible pace. It seems like he already runs at full speed, already outpaced everyone around him, but when it is necessary he still has some extra km/hs in him. Ronaldo was famous for these 'sprints in sprints' in his early days. And he's a very good finisher, too, which is also special for such a young player. Another trade he shares with Ronaldo.

But he is nowhere near Ronaldo's technical skills on the ball. Mbappe is a very good and tricky technician in his own right but Ronaldo wasn't far away from Ronaldinho level in that area, arguably even on par with him. He could do incredible things with a ball at his feet and I haven't seen Mbappe doing anything comparable to that, tbh.

He can’t even eclipse him at PSG. Yes they will decline eventually but nothing is given to say Mbappe is next in line. Hell will he have a better season than Harry Kane.

It is still the most exciting thing in the game, a player running with pace at the heart of the defense, forcing defenders to scramble, causes mass panic. Very reminiscent of a young Ronaldo 9 and as a Utd fan a little bit like a young Giggs with those thrusting direct runs. Great to watch, but too soon to anoint him as the next best in the world. Has to show developments in his game against deep set defenses. devastating on the counter as he is.

One comparison I see with Henry is how explosive his first step/move is. Henry would stop the ball and defender and then in the same movement would shift the ball and be close to top speed before the other guy could react.

As long as the best players still go to Real and Barca, nothing will change. The money dominance of English clubs is overstated very much in terms of what is happening around the best players. Look at the list of the most expensive transfers

The current list should read as follows

1. Neymar
2. Mbappe
3. Coutinho
4. Dembele
5. Neymar (from Santos to Barca, the legal case has revealed the sum to be around 111m Euros)
6. Pogba
7. Bale
8. CR7
9. Higuain
10. Lukaku

Only 2 players on that list were bought by PL teams and none of those is in the Top5. The best players still go to other leagues. Not that I care:)

Well atleast you said it. Ronaldo was a magician on the ball. Not to forget a very good dribbler. He also did it against world class defenders.

A hat trick composed of a howler from DDG and a pen against at team that struggled terribly versus Morocco and Iran. Very impressive indeed... Spain were average in the group stages.
It's easy to twist things to suit agenda but there is no way a group stage match is bigger than a R16 where a defeat or even a draw can get you home.
I know we don't always agree on issues but I'm inclined to agree with you on this one.

I think he will soon enough. Neymar is at the moment a better player, but Mbappe is just 19. He has much more room for development. He can be Luis Ronaldo without injuries. Ok, I am getting carried away a bit, I guess.

Exactly.
I said this in the Dembele thread when he and Mbappe were proclaimed as the next Messi and Ronaldo.
For some reason fans look at who is breaking through as the next best in the world as if its a regen. The next best are Neymar, Kane, KDB, Salah etc.
Mbappe has a long way to go to catch those names never mind all time greats.

I think it makes sense to pay 166m or even 180m or 200m for a 19-year old supertalent who will be top top player for the next 10-15 years. That is not even 20m a season in transfer fee.

Exactly.

Mbappe is already better than Salah :p

Fast becoming my favourite player to watch. Unbelievable talent.

One of best celebrations around as well

Mbappe will surpass all of those.

His reactions and acceleration are incredible. The way he gets in front of opponents is phenomenal. Defenders have no clue how to handle him

"The next one " descriptions are just a sure way to be dissapointed and criticize him harshly in the future. He is his own player and even if he has develop very fastly, nobody can predict the futur. He could hit a bit of a brick wall, let's just enjoy him at the moment.

That run for the pen got me out of my chair. Not much gets me out of my chair these days. Thrilling stuff.

Mbappe will surpass all of those.
Dembele was supposed to as well and that's looking a lot less likely just 12 months later.
Let's just wait and see. Personally I think he's a Bale type that needs space to fully showcase his skills which could work against him.

No, people are 'wetting their knickers' because of his performances going back nearly two years ago. In 2016/17 he scored against Dortmund, City, Juventus at the highest level in club football and last season became the youngest player to reach 10 CL goals at just 18 years old. Who is doubting Kane?

The chosen one

I hope he never comes here. Mourinho will destroy him like he destroyed Pogba and Martial who were ballon d'or candidates until they meet him... ;)

But if one day we get ride of Mourinho, I hope we sign Mbappe

True Ronaldo was certainly a better dribbler or having party tricks, although he and Mbappe Just seem to have this incredible balance if Ronaldo didn’t want to be moved then you weren’t moving him. He was stupidly powerful/strong. I always remember this goal.
