Carragher still gonna make sure to tell us the best in the world are in the Prem, gonna give Tony Khan vibes

Good tweet. Happy for him. Now time to forgive the offence and wish him well.

What a pic!

Shameless tweet, actually, but whatever.
Well, he's our player now and regardless of the past I'm sure he's enthusiastic.
We can't be five years furious. He's going to be under enough pressure

Well, at least on Fifa RM is going to be broken as hell.

His biggest issue from the legacy perspective would be even if Real wins another UCL with him as the main man next year, people would say well Real was winning already without him and it's not a big deal to do that at Real. So, there would always be a question mark there.

It was a mistake for him to reject Real two years ago which kind of gives the impression that either he's not concerned with his legacy that much or he truly believed he would win a UCL at PSG.
Personally I think it’s the latter.

I can see him crying into the big ears because people don't think Mbappe won it solo.

Now I want PSG to knock out Real Madrid when the opportunity arises and win the CL for the lulz.

This signing bonus is what allowed Madrid to cut massively Mbappé's salary to have it be slightly above their best players to not create tension in the dressing room and still give him what he's worth.
You think those other players (and their agents) don’t know about this bonus?

It’s different though isn’t it? It’s a one time payment in lieu of a transfer fee.

I can quite easily be mad at him for that long, Bale got a lot more hate and abuse for really silly stuff while performing for us on the important moments. So far Mbappe hasn't done anything with us yet so I'm still on the hating camp, of course this can change but I'm still not warming up to him.

Considering the general attitude in the football world whenever RM wins UCL, as in, few cares, also the fact that the club won it just fine without him, how much will the perception of him as a club player really change, if he wins a couple while at the club?

Bit like the Kane situation, he’s cursed, mbappe is cursed in the CL.
If Real want to actually challenge themselves, they should sign Kane and win the CL. Only then will I agree that they are not fluking a CL every other year.

Good point.

"The 25-year-old, who is PSG's record goalscorer with 256 goals in 308 appearances, has signed a five-year contract at the Bernabeu worth €15m (£12.8m) a year after tax. He will receive a signing-on bonus of just over £85m from Real, who will pay the fee in instalments over the duration of his contract. "

So it is around £250k/week after tax. A total package of 85 + 12.8 x 5 = £149m for 5 years of service at his prime, that is cheap. (The math is not correct due to salary is after tax)

Never take CL win for granted. We have been incredibly blessed to win so many in short time. I think Mbappe will win Balon D'or if he is decisive in CL compagin for us. Like Benzema and like maybe Vini this year.

He would need to have seasons smilar to Cristiano Ronaldo where he is the main goalscorer in both league and UCL. It would also help if the team starts playing better and being more dominant although that isn't solely dependent on him.

Madrid have it so easy :(

Ah, feck it. When your starboys come from your academy, it hits different.

La Carrington >

For such a ruthless guy, he seems to treat Mbappe with the kiddie gloves.

Guess missing out on Neymar really did a number on him. Been buying every Brazilian kid fresh out the womb and prolly sees Mbappe as the next big shiny toy since Cristiano.

Mind you, based on how he talks about players in private (leaked tapes…). Prolly doesn’t have a lot of nice things to say about Mbappe either but wanted to make this signing a sure thing.

Now up to Mbappe to show he is worth the hassle. And if it doesn’t work out….well United is usually very nice to do business with :)

Unpopular opinion...He'll never be Madrid quality.

Don't really think there's such a thing as "Madrid quality" personally. They've employed all types of players that you wouldn't think are that standard but work well for the team/squad. It's not a Pep style team where you know every player has to be super technical/neat and listen to every direction (bar Haaland).

Indeed, Real Madrid through a long drought some years ago and were losing to the likes of Lyon.

The way it is phrased he gets his signing bonus in installments. I mean, I don’t really care too much. It’s not my money.
I simply find it naïve to state that the other players will forget about his signing bonus and only look at his wages when comparing it to their own contracts.

Something like 5 exits at the last 16. Went out at home to Roma one season too.
