Kylian Mbappé | Real Madrid watch

Putting him CF seems weird. His main strength is surely his insane speed (I realize he's not particularly bad at other attacking stuff either), which is partly wasted in the center. Though I suppose a counter with Vinicius and Mbappe running at you is quite scary.

Its only on paper, positionally, Mbappe and Vinicius play pretty much in the same spaces on the pitch.

Its the only way to fit both in the same team, and Mbappe at CF instead of LF is better, as Vinicius at least tracks back now and then, otherwise the left side is more unbalanced.

Ironic how Real have probably the best non white team ever assembled after all the abuse Vinicius gets. Those racist fks must be well pissed off.

Such an insufferable person that manages to create a circus around himself as he is unfortunately the best attacking player in the world.

Typical Madrid love though. Strengthen from a position of already considerable strength. Will be interesting to see how they accommodate him next season and who this consequently impacts.

Feel like they’ll adopt a similar system and Rodrygo ends up largely benched - especially in the tougher fixtures. Even with Kroos gone, they have far too much midfield talent to ignore. Valverde, Bellingham are definite starters and then Tchoameni and Camavinga will wrack up so much game time.

But there is a lot of room for improvement there imo.

Just imagine you are Ancelotti facing City. Instead of counting on a (partly nullified by Walker) Vinicius and Rodrygo with Joselu as backup, you do it with Vinicius and Mbappe with Rodrygo as backup.

It changes everything. From City's strategic and tactical approach to your ability to do damage with your best weapon which is counter-attacks. It is very much increasing the chances of victory in a match against a team that has reached such a high level of maturity, as it's City.

Neither of Rashford or Martial were as established as a top player as those two. We can only hope Vini gets fed up having to accommodate Mbappe, and by the time it happens we have established ourselves as a genuine option for a top talent to come to us to win trophies.
Yeah they're much better players, and Vinicius is more of a team player than either

Win Champions League then announce signing the best attacking player in the world.

Oh to be a Madrid fan

150m euros signing on bonus paid over 5 years? Must be good being a footballer. I think we will see more of this type of deals where players feel like they can pocket the transfer fee that would have instead went to the club.

It'll likely work out well for Real but there's always the scenario that his arrival disrupts the current team chemistry.
Don’t think so. They are winners, they’ll welcome one of the best player in the world.

Have been hearing this for years now. All it takes is one injury and that could potentially derail a player’s year/career.

He should have left two years ago when Real did that massive bid. There will be a lot more pressure now due to his rejection back then.

PSG should have let him go too if they were operating like a normal football club. What do they have to show for it two ligue 1 and one Coup de France which they would have won without him. They doubled down because they didn't want to lose face. Madness if you think about it. What was it 200M euro? All down the drain..

It really depends on each player though. Greed is nothing unheard of(from both players and agents) when such huge sum of money is involved.

It all feels so pointless, two years ago was the time, instead he wasted two more years in France, Vinicius devoloping into the most clutch LF around in the meantime with RM winning 2 UCLs, and now he moves here?

He should have stuck to a path, get as much money as possible, or chase the trophies, now he is doing some sort of weird-in-between.

This reminds me of when United signed Schneiderlin. No fanfare, no journalists with the inside scoop, just out of nowhere - boom signed.

They doubled down because of the then incoming World Cup in Qatar. It had much more to do with geopolitics than sport.

His biggest issue from the legacy perspective would be even if Real wins another UCL with him as the main man next year, people would say well Real was winning already without him and it's not a big deal to do that at Real. So, there would always be a question mark there.

It was a mistake for him to reject Real two years ago which kind of gives the impression that either he's not concerned with his legacy that much or he truly believed he would win a UCL at PSG.

Not immediately, Mbappe will start at CF, but will grow bored of it, and eventually push Vinicius out of the team.

They won't last more than two seasons together in the team, i reckon.

Same feeling here.

How many CL's will he finish with then? 5?

Would the French guys side with Vini or Mbappe in the locker room beef?

Your guess is as good as mine, but I'm not sure it would cause a dressing room beef. Vini will probably have to accept playing out of position, or leave.

But not too many of those could boast of a hat trick in the World Cup final.

Two goals were penalties.

All goals stats in that world cup are inflated, cause there were penatlies every game.

Do you think there will ever be a time again when RM do not get the players they want?

Well all his other goals at the WC were from open play.

Real Madrid is the best platform for Mbappe to grow into a Ballon d'Or winner.

It will be interesting to see what happens, they might go with 2 upfront in Vini & Mbappe, which would allow Jude to do his bit and play behind them, Rodrygo will be the odd one out and might be benched or perhaps the plan changes and they play 3 upfront with Vini and Rodrygo flanking Mbappe, and a 3-man Midfield in Jude, Cama and perhaps Valverde and Tchouameni.

I used to watch Madrid alot for the last 25 yrs, but I have slowed down since 2023 and don't watch alot of football games except for United when I can, this new Madrid is really scary, young and hungry and can dominate for years to come

What a waste in France though. Really stagnated the last two years and imo Vini is the better player right now.

This. What was he thinking? He should have gone to a proper club after Monaco.
