Kylian Mbappé | Player Performance Thread

I really want to see him at United. A forward line of Martial, Rashford Mbapped is drool worthy. I would give up on Greizmann if we can get hold of Mbappe. He is the closest player i've seen to a young Thierry Henry. Would love to see him fulfill that promise at United. Martial, Rashford and Mbappe would not need a fixed position in the forward line, they can all interchange as Rooney, Ronaldo and Tevez did.

Would prefer:

-----Mbappe
Martial----O. Dembele

Many clubs will be in for him but he shouldn't leave Monaco just yet, in my humble opinion.

The only way he plays for us is if, he doesn't move this summer. I can't see us going for him anytime soon.

I've never seen him play, but how would people say he compares to Mousa Dembele at Celtic?

I know it's a poor league but much like Van Dijk and Wanyama before him, he looks streets ahead.

It's simple. He's a world-class talent. I don't think he should move this summer though, but I would love to have him in a year or so. And then add Ousmane, and ask Coman if he would like to continue his European tour and experience England.
What planet do you live on? You're gonna line up with Dembele, Coman, Mbappe, Martial, Rashford, Pogba, Mkhi, Griezmann all in the same team?

Would love that as well, but we do need to keep room for Rashford as well. Whoever gets Mbappe is going to get a briliant player now and a possible sperstar in the future.

Ed might have to resort to adding £10m to every rejected bid again it seems.

France are going to win the next world Cup, aren't they? They have the best upcoming talents in the world right now. It's wierd that Psg have so few French players in their team.

The most talented group of players doesn't always make for the best team.

True. But having the best talents will definitely go a long way.
You can't win without having some talent but Greece, Denmark, Portugal wins in EC and relative failure of such as France, Netherlands with stellar names but no chemistry tells a tale.

Agreed. Anything can happen in Cup competitions. But if you look at the past World Cup winners, it has always been one of the big teams as far as I can recall. The Euros seem to be more unpredictable. Anyway, I wasn't totally serious with my comment. Just wanted to highlight that France will have an exciting squad for the 2020 world cup brimming with talent.

Think we can agree on this.

2018 WC ....

If he was born 2 weeks later he'd have been born in 1999. Unbelievable.

What's wrong with
DDG
Bailly Rojo
Pogba
Dembele Griezmann Mkhitaryan Martial
Coman Mbappe Rashford

So you don't want Rashford to become better than Dembele?
I'm no sure how you came to that conclusion based purely on a single post. Dembele's a right winger, so the comparison isnt even apt. Mbappe's a better comparator; as good as Rashford is, I dont think he's a phenom in the way that the 3 i've mentioned are. Obviously i'm hopeful that a local lad can lead our line, but not if it's purely based on emotion. Mbappe and Dembele are considered to be as talented as Martial (if not more), and I dont think anyone would prefer Rashford over Martial.

Looks a bit one footed and that only works if you're left footed. Don't want.

If anyone was in doubt over whether this lad is the real deal or not...

Reminds me of Ronaldo. Has that absolute directness and confidence that he had at PSV and Barca. Pacey, very strong and just seems to keep pushing the ball forward towards goal. Two great feet, good in the air. He'll probably go for more than Pogba went for because Martial set a precedent for Monaco and every club in Europe will want him.

Would be criminal for us to not throw our hat into the ring.

Looks like one of the hottest talents in world football, I'd be very surprised if we weren't looking at him at least.

For me it's always far more exciting seeing us buy a hot prospect than established players.

I remember when we announced an agreement in principle for Nani and Anderson out of the blue, on the same day, I lost it.

He looks good! Can't tell how fast he is because he looks the type that are deceptively quick with long strides! Seems efficient though and good end product for his age!

I'm the same....then again, I play too much FIFA and footy manager

Looks decent but for the likely fee involved, I'd give him a miss. We need a proven star like Griezmann if we're splashing serious cash on one player. We already have a couple of young promising forwards who are nowhere near their peak and adding another won't help us with our short term objectives to get back to the top.

Going to be honest I don't find him mind blowing to watch. Seems a good finisher and is powerful and fast for his age but it's hard to judge with these long limbed players how good they can end up. His stats are undeniably impressive for his age so I will still keep an eye out for him.

The Lamar kid on the other hand looks much more technically top tier but could end up being too lightweight for a top side.

I wouldn't assume this kid is a must buy just yet. Ousmane Dembele on the other hand looked hands down brilliant in his videos and has proven it and then some at Dortmund.

He's so energetic it sometimes looks like the video is playing at double speed. As someone else said, very reminiscent of the original Ronaldo: sheer pace, power and cool finishing. Looks like a massive find.

Reminds me of rashford from that video.

Hope he stays and matures at Monaco for a little while yet, but he sure does look Exciting. France have another golden generation coming.
