Klaas-Jan Huntelaar

Should be pointed out it was just a Talksport listener phoning/texting in to say he saw Huntelaar at the airport.

We really needn't be posting such rubbish(not personal, just in general), goal.com's crap and talksport's even worse. Deadly duo right there.

Huh really? Its definitely rubbish then. I would delete the post but it would make the next posts look strange.

I've had four different people ask if I've heard about Huntelaar being in Manchester, whoever made that phone call to talksport did well with their WUM

Sport.co.uk can exclusively reveal that AC Milan star Klaas-Jan Huntelaar will be staying iat the San Siro this summer and not moving to the Premier League amid reports linking the player with a number of English clubs.

The Dutch forward has been linked with Manchester United, Manchester City, Liverpool, Tottenham Hotspur, Arsenal, and Everton on a number of occasions during the summer, the most recent, an Italian report claiming the forward was spotted at a Manchester airport at the end of last week. However, the talented Dutch international has committed his future to the Serie A club putting to rest any rumours linking Europe’s top clubs with a move for the 26-year-old.

In an exclusive interview with Huntelaar’s agent Arnoldus Oosterveer Sport.co.uk can confirm that the Dutchman has no plans to exit the San Siro this summer and is eager to fight for his place under new manager Massimiliano Allegri.

“There is no interest from any Premier League clubs. I have read the reports, but these are just rumours. He (Klaas Jan Huntelaar) is happy in Milan and the club are happy with him. Milan want to keep him and he wants to stay.

“He will remain at the club this summer.”

Schalke snap up striker Huntelaar for €13m

German side Schalke 04 have signed Dutch striker Klaas-Jan Huntelaar from AC Milan for a fee of around €13 million.

Huntelaar struggled to nail down a starting place in his first season at the San Siro last term and has been linked with a move away from the club for some time. He joins former Real Madrid team-mate Raul at Schalke, last season's Bundesliga runners-up.

"Negotiations were tougher than expected. I am happy to have Klaas-Jan. He will help us," Schalke boss Felix Magath told Bild newspaper.

The 27-year-old, played for four years at Ajax Amsterdam before moving to Real in 2009 where he also failed to establish himself.

"Klaas-Jan wants to continue his career at Schalke. Schalke and Milan have agreed on a transfer fee of about 13 million euros," he said on his personal website. "It is true I never wanted to leave Milan but that changed when Zlatan Ibrahimovic came from Barcelona," he said.

Never rated him...even when the muppets were all a tizzy about how deadly the hunter was. He's found his level. I'm sure he'll get his goals with Schalke.

On a sidenote, I'm sure this was the first time Holland participated in a international championship with far less players from the very top clubs all around Europe.

He's a good player.

He's got what 13 goals in 12 games for club and country this year?
He scored again for Holland today vs Sweden. He's got 7 goals in his last 3.5 games for Holland over the last month or so

Poor man's Ruud maybe but he does score a lot even if he's a bit one dimensional. Was doing very well for Madrid for one period of a dozen games before he got dropped.

I wonder what impact he would make in Premiership, because he got potential to score over 20 goals on season, but I'm still not sure about his style and fitting in Sir Alex's tactic.

Berbatov hates that type of striker, someone who possesses little to no technical ability, no flair, no vision and very little to his game other than merely poaching in the 18 yard box.

Besides my earlier remark regarding technique, i also think that he does have very good vision or feeling for where to be, to be a quality finisher like he is, you must have that eye/feeling for positioning in the box... he's always at the right spot... So no, he isn't a Snijder/VDV in vision terms as he doesnt play in midfield and doesnt spray passes all over the pitch. And no, he doesn't possess the tecnical abilities of Berbatov or the flair of Ronaldo, but hey, look at his scoring record (ajax, madrid, now shalke and dutch squad), he maybe be not much of a presence on the pitch, but he scores goals every where he goes....

Why are you lot still going on about this lad? He isn't good enough. Flopped in Spain. Flopped in Italy and whilst in some games i've seen he looks a class finisher, in others he looks as though he couldn't hit a barn door.

He's made the right move going to Germany. He'll fill his boots in a second rate league and still get Champions League football every season.

He was there for five months, he scored a few goals (8 in 20, say the statistics) and had it been any other club except Real Madrid (or Barcelona) he wouldn't have been released the following summer. He did well. Success? I'm not sure you can call any player a success for performances over five months.

Good player but just made a couple of bad decisions in his choice of clubs which stalled his career. Schalke will now see the best of him.

You're not shipped out after such a short period if you're doing well. It's hard to succeed at Madrid but succeed he did not.
