I could see Harry going for some kind of Pav - Huntelaar swap, but I don't see him being willing to include Bale in the deal.
Why? Because we already have 3 good strikers apart from Pav, but Bale is our only left-footed LB apart from Ekotto, and also because Bale has too much potential (won't be 21 until next summer) to let go right now.
Bale has had several good games for Spurs and has several times been on the winning side for Spurs, even if it's only recently that he's finally been on the winning side for Spurs in a league match.Needs to show that potential. Hardly had a good game for Spurs yet, to be fair Ekotto has been rock solid and I rate him as a really good LB.
Has Bale been on the winning side for Spurs yet ? I'm sure he hasn't last season or was that 2 seasons ago ?
That wont erase 2 excellent goals in injury time...
I am drunk to be fair.
Klaas-Jan Huntelaar has admitted he might have to leave AC Milan to secure regular football, although he would be open to a loan move so he can still have a future with the Italian club.
The Dutch striker has struggled to make much of an impact since joining the Rossoneri from Real Madrid last summer.
He held positive talks with Milan vice-president Adriano Galliani before Christmas but first-team opportunities have still been limited.
Huntelaar is now considering his options as he has been told he will not go to the World Cup with Holland unless he is performing at club level.
The 26-year-old feels that a loan deal could be one solution to his problem but he would still like to play in a top division.
"I'm thinking of leaving," Huntelaar, who has been linked with a switch to the Premier League, told Telegraaf.
"When I spoke with officials, they comforted me and said they have faith in me. I played a little more, but I want more.
"It's important for me because, as our national team coach explained to me, to go with the national team it's important to play a lot for your club.
"I would like to stay in an important league to show I can be a player for Milan. I'd like to be loaned and then come back."

He wouldnt bring anything that Owen doesnt have.
As I've been saying for a while now regarding Huntelaar possibly coming to us.....yes please.
The problem is that you have to play him as the focal point of your attack. He's purely a finisher and therefore doesn't always fit into all formations and tactics. Milan can't use him - Borriello does all the hard work that Huntelaar doesn't do, despite being a worse finisher, which means that he can play alongside Ronaldinho (who doesn't track back) and Pato (who's too small and lightweight to make any meaningful contribution in tracking back). He's far too one-dimensional to fit into many formations, which is why when teams shift to put him as the focal point in attack (i.e. they throw Huntelaar on and pump balls forward) then he does score. However, he doesn't complete the team at all.Why was he a failure at Madrid exactly? He had 8 goals in 13 starts, that's a great strike rate. Like any striker, he needs consistency and confidence that comes from playing regularly and being backed by manager and fans. I think he'd be great for us.

Really? He is bigger, quicker, fitter and more mobile than Owen 2010.He wouldnt bring anything that Owen doesnt have.

So no, he's never had the chance to shine but that's because he's never fit into Real Madrid nor Milan's tactics.
AgreedGood post. At the top level most strikeforces have just the one central player. And that person needs to have exceptional physical attributes - see Drogba (strength) or Torres (pace) or outstanding technical attributes - see Ibrahimovic or Villa.
I reckon Milan view Huntelaar as a long-term replacement for Pipo Inzaghi. There probably won't be room for him in the team on a regular basis, but he's a good enough goalsmith to have coming off the bench as and when required.

Physique and probably a bit quicker and mobile... I would take him on a loan! Wouldn't want him here perminant mind you.
