After the Thiago transfer has calmed down quite a bit I decided to give this one another try. Yeah so this Strootman guy...he looks a bit average doesnt he? And I can safely say after watching him twice or 3 times in youtube videos that I'm an expert.

I've never seen him play. If you bothered to pay attention before making idiotic comments in a thread you weren't going to post in again you'd know this.
I think you're missing the point. You can't be an expert on a player that you haven't watched enough of, and you certainly can't use YouTube videos to formulate an opinion. That defeats the purpose of rating a player. Strootman is good, he's better than Cleverley defensively and offensively, but what I'm more interested in is the fact he'll provide us very good depth. Sometimes, you have to buy players to fill in, and we had a hard time without Carrick/Cleverley last season. I said it previously in this thread and I'll say it again: if we get Thiago and Strootman, it would be amazing. If we get Strootman, it would be good, but it wouldn't mean we've signed an average player. We need a defensive player, we can't solely focus our attention on Thiago, who I think we're going to sign, and negate the defensive aspects of our team...
He is not better than Cleverley. Especially in the final third, that is an insult.
I disagree and I do not see how that is an insult, considering most of us want Cleverley to do more in the final third. He isn't adventurous enough and takes a simple approach that has to be refined next season. Strootman is slightly better. He has very good technique when he strikers the ball and he can make great through balls. He had 6 goals and 10 assists in the Eredivisie, which is a good return.
