Jurgen Klopp and Dortmund

(assuming they don't win it)
They won't. Their last two games already showed similar problems as in the league. If not for Arsenal's feck-up in the 3-3 against Anderlecht they would have finished 2nd after starting with 4 wins. For a while it looked like their form in the CL was completely different, but I doubt that's still the case and I fully expect Juve to go through, easily.

The best Dortmund can hope for now is avoiding relegation and qualifying for the Europa League through the cup.

Out of interest, do you hope they get relegated? Or that Klopp gets the sack?
No, not at all. I don't hate the club or Klopp in any way and the league is way more interesting with them in it.

I cant understand how a team with really good players be in a relegation position? It's not like they're in teh strongest league in the world and its not like they struggled so bad last season. It just baffles me.

Shows how much they miss Reus and Lewandowski.

Don't know how often it's been mentioned already, but it reminds me a bit of that great Leverkusen side. 2001-2002 they were brilliant, players like Schneider, Basturk, Ramelow, ponytail Placente. And more well known names like Neuville, Ballack, Lucio, Butt, young Berbaclass, Jens Novotny.

They came close to winning a treble, eventually they won nothing that season. but they were in the league title race until the end, made it to the cup final and CL final. A year after, they almost relagated if I remember correctly.

Yeah I remember that too, but didnt they lose half those above names?

Yeah well I don't know what's happened to Dortmund exactly. But two of their best players went to Bayern. Nuri Sahin was player of the season for them, I see he's only featured 3 bundesliga games. Reus was injured in the summer, then again. Gundogan had only 9 matches after being out for ages. Hummels not completely fit.

That's six or seven truly world class players gone or not in form. Henrikh 0 goals in 14 matches. Kagawa not in form, Bender now out injured. tThat's an awful lot you're missing as a team then. Maybe combined with some bad luck, which leads to less confidence. Maybe a little less motiviation, and you have recipe for disaster. Good luck to Klopp fixing that.

Oh man I forgot to mention Ze Roberto, he was a genius.

I was pissed at you, for that. :D

But the difference is that, Leverkusen lost all their best players, except Neuville, Ramelow or Butt, and didn't replaced them probably by lack of money.

Dortmund just fecked up, they had the money to strengthen the bench and failed to do so. They should have sold Lewandowski and replace him with the money and instead of that gave him a raise, and let him run down his contract.

They should have signed a real competition for Bender and Schmelzer( or Piszczek depending on where you want to play Durm) too.

Reus is back.

They really miss Lewandowski though.

He was almost playing in two positions at once; as creative midfielder and as forward. Replacing the "striker"-Lewandowski with immobile is okay, but they didnt make up for losing their most creative player (bar Gündogan). Kampl or Kagawa are the two players who could fill this void, but I dont rate Kampl at all and Kagawa looks like a shadow of his former self.

Kampl is a WC player never doubt about him. I need to defend him...

Was never that keen on Klopp even when everyone seemed to want him as our boss.

There's just something about him, I think he could lose a dressing room as easily as he could win one.

Who do they face in the CL? Is it Juventus?

Yeah, they can actually have a chat in the dressing room about how to deal with relegation as a top club and how to get promoted again afterwards ...

Come on Dortmund, sort it out, it's not THAT difficult to win a couple of games, is it?

It's sad to see and we all loved Dortmund the past few years but their loss should be our gain.

Reus, Piszczek and Hummels would improve our team. Gundogan is a gamble I'd take considering he'd be cheap and is very young.

This guy has no idea about defending. It's not baffling when you consider that he was 22 when he was moved from striker position to left wing. Then to attacking midfield and finally to right back as 25 years old guy.

So they lost again, they're in the relegation zone, and most of the cafe still wants half of their players? :wenger::lol:

People will try and blame us but he seemed quite fit here, just not strong or quick enough.

Wasn't he accused of not being able to go 90 minutes when he was still with us? I think Kagawa might actually have a bit of an attitude problem. Maybe he was too soon convinced that he had made it and didn't put in the same effort in the gym like he used to early in his career?

He has always been a 60mn player.

They have some top players.

Reus is top quality, but always injured. Their best players were Gotze and Ledondowski, plus Kagawa (pre-United) and Gundagon (pre-injury).

Everyone talks about Hummels, but he's ridiculously overrated because he's good on the ball. And he's well out of form. He'd struggle in the PL.

Didnt the legendary Beckenbeur side win the league one year and fight relegation the next? I think it was a season after Germany won the World Cup.
Very rare for Modern football tho

They did not really fight relegation but where more midtable or even low midtable and ended 10th at the end of the season but won the European Cup of Champions the second time in a row. But that had different reasons. At that time it was more difficult to get money so they did a lot of friendly matches and stuff of the pitch what probably cost them a lot of energy...
