Julian Draxler

He can play every position in the offensive midfield, although he mostly operated on the left flank for Leverkusen in this season while their Korean Son occupied the right side.

Pretty sure it's the other way round. Sam always on the right and Son on the left. When one of them was missing, Castro and Hegeler were used in both positions. Also I like Sam as an inverse winger on the right way more than on the left.

It is the other way around
I mixed it up and already edited it.

Fair enough, their names really are confusing ;)

The really don't need him imo, he plays best as a 10 or from the left they already have Ozil, Cazorla, Wilshere and Ramsey to squeeze in. They need a striker and a cb.

On the Arsenal forums they are talking about him being converted into a CF ala Henry - if we sign him that is.

Sphaero, Balu and our other resident German followers - what say you? Is there a chance he could be converted into a CF?

Personally whenever I've seen him he's looked far more dangerous coming in from the wide areas. He's a clever player with a cracking shot and good eye for a pass so he'd probably be alright there, but it'd be like sticking Nani there and relying on his technical ability.

You're talking arsemania aren't you? Draxler is an AM not a CF.

Yeah, I've noticed that there and on Goonersworld... I think Draxler is Bale-esque personally. It's an interesting idea though, he is tall and strong and has great technique.

He'd probably be capable of turning into a false 9 type striker but I don't think it'd be using him anywhere near to his full capabilities. Behind the striker or on the left are easily his best positions I think. Although if you did get him, a front line of Draxler-Ozil-Cazorla behind a striker would be scary.. the price it'd take to get him though, you'd be better off bringing in a world class striker, or a future one like Timo Werner.

Am i correct in saying Draxler has a buyout of 40 - 45 million euros?

If so why are we waiting? A world class talent in the making if ever i saw one.

Need a player like this. He can operate anywhere in the front line and is a good goal scoring threat.

He's fantastic, we had our fingers burnt dicking around over Hazard. Need to get these talents whilst we can as once they are at big club we don't have the pull
or money it seems anymore.

He's currently with a doctor in a clinic used by Bayern Munich. Might not mean anything, but it wouldn't surprise me if they were to sign him.

It doesn't mean anything. That doctor is one of Bayern's club doctors but he's also a private doctor who treats a lot of sports players like Bolt, Gerrard etc. Draxler is there for private treatment. But of course, he'll definitely be on Bayern's radar. Talented young German player and all that.

It would definitely fit in with Bayern's M.O. if they signed this guy.

I can't see how they have room for him, though.

They'll probably be looking for Ribery's replacement in the next 1-2 seasons.

Müller-Wohlfahrt is also the doctor of the German nationalteam and arguably the best sports doctor in the world when it comes to muscle injuries. Draxler is injured since the game against Basel and uncertain to return in time for the start of the second half of the season, so most likely, he's just trying to get fit and it means absolutely nothing in relation to any transfer rumours.

I saw that, surely they are running out of squad spaces and money?
It might be time for Shaqiri to leave after two years as a squad player and still no chance for him to become a regular starter, then we need another wide player. Draxler would tick a lot of boxes, but he's crazy expensive and we already have a whole starting line-up of brilliant attacking players young enough to stay at the club for years. Can't see us making him our new record signing at the moment.

How much is crazy money?

We have 0 chance of getting him in january, especially that its a world cup year.....Theres very few world class players that I can think of that we may have a chance of getting in january so i i think we should be expecting a youngster or two...there may well be more mass suicide at the end of this transfer window

I can see you guys signing him either in the summer or next year. Hope United snatches up Shaqiri though, he'd be an improvement on what we have.
