I really like what I've seen of him so far. Just wondering how our German experts would rate him as a prospect compared to someone like Schurrle?

Kroos certainly deserves to be on a similar level than Özil, Reus and Müller and still far ahead of Draxler. He's more of a CM than an AM though, but his performances last season and this season so far are brilliant. I'd argue he's one of Bayern's 3 best players so far this season and he was brilliant yesterday as well. His potential is slightly lower than Götze, but he could very well reach the overall level of Reus, Özil or Müller.
Based on current performance it would look something like this:
Özil=Reus=Müller>Draxler=Kroos>Schürrle
Götze is right now a big unknown, because he could not establish himself at Bayern yet, because of injuries. If he reaches his former level at Dortmund there, he is right up there with the first group. Bear in mind, that these players are far from being the same player types, so I rated them on their general impact on the game.
Everyone lacks quality fullbacks, there are really few around these days. It's not that well spread though, we lack in fullbacks and strikers.
Yeah a ton of attacking midfielders, rivalled only by the Spanish. But they're also struggling for a WC striker
Feck, Kroos is a player I really like. I actually hoped Pep's regime & the signing of Thiago would make Kroos consider his optionsKroos certainly deserves to be on a similar level than Özil, Reus and Müller and still far ahead of Draxler. Yeah agreed about Muller. He adds a ton more to the team then plucking a Gomez up front. Also it makes it so much more difficult for cb of the opposition to pickup.Everyone lacks quality fullbacks, there are really few around these days.
If Müller continues to play that position for Bayern like he did against City and Leverkusen, I don't think we lack a worldclass striker, we only need a manager who's not too stubborn to use well working ideas of successful club managers.
He did a great job up until 2010. After the world cup he went crazy and now he believes he needs to be creative and find a spectacular playing style on his own even if it contradicts everything that makes Bayern and Dortmund great, two of the best clubs in the world right now. It's really frustrating and our tactics and the player selection at the Euro 12 were shockingly bad and it doesn't look like that changed. More often than not, he uses player in positions where they clearly don't fit. I still believe he doesn't understand what made the Özil-Müller partnership that great in 2010, because if he did, he wouldn't make stupid decisions like against Italy in the Euro semis. Playing Özil yesterday as a false 9 is a perfect example as well, that's just stupid, especially with Müller in the team. The squad is strong enough to walk through the qualification anyway, but it'll be a different story at the worldcup.Yeah agreed about Muller. He adds a ton more to the team then plucking a Gomez up front. Also it makes it so much more difficult for cb of the opposition to pickup.
You don't sound too fond of Loëw? I thought he's done a good job, with the team now maturing, hopefully he picks up that trophy?
edit: on the fullback bit - just give Alaba citizenship *joking* You guys aren't too bad off yet with Lahm & Schmelzer etc
I really like Max Kruse. If Klose is at his best again, which I highly doubt, but if he somehow manages to be fit enough for one last worldcup, Klose instead of Kruse in there.
Former midfielder turned into striker, smart player, hard working, loves to drop deep or move out wide and connect with the midfield. Arguably the key player for Freiburg's success last season when he turned what looked liked a toothless strikerless formation on paper into a very exciting team. He still needs a bit of work, you could call him a late bloomer, he was already 24 when he became a regular starter for a Bundesliga team, but he made a great development and looks like a quality option for Germany upfront. In the longterm, Volland looks even more promising though, for now he still plays with the U21 team, but I wouldn't rule it out that Volland makes the world cup squad. What type of player is Max Kruse?
I've seen Honigstein rave about him 3 or 4 times on his twitter account.
He gave an interview last week in which he said "I love to play through the middle, but somehow everyone else thinks it's better if I play out wide" .Whenever i've seen Draxler he always seems to be on the left. Do you's reckon he's more likely to play through the middle as he develops?
I think I need to honestly go watch more Gotze videos. I've seen him a few times (probably around 20 roughly) & his talent is obvious but I think I under rate him a bit, based on how majority of the Caf rate him.
Götze really needs to get fit and start playing again, somehow he's now massively underrated all of a sudden
Fantastic prospect
Id love to sign him
What saddens me though is that he probably only mentioned us to get a new contract or to get another team interested
He rejected Arsenal this summer. He'll get a move...
You have an outrageous amount of talented footballers in Germany right now.
Feck, Kroos is a player I really like. I actually hoped Pep's regime & the signing of Thiago would make Kroos consider his options
He'd be a great replacement for Scholes IMO. A really intelligent player with a great shot/pass. I hate you Balu
So for those that do watch Draxler regularly, is he going to be a winger, inside forward or a #10?
Götze really needs to get fit and start playing again, somehow he's now massively underrated all of a sudden
Not sure who, on the Caf, is under rating him? I think he's actually one of the most rated youngsters in recent years. You're on the caf, Balu, remember. Rooney gets injured for two weeks and he's suddenly a less personable Emile Heskey.
Yeah he's a top talent. Like I said, I probably just need to watch him more. You are not alone Ish. He looked a frighteningly mature talent when he broke through as an eighteen year old, but he hasn't progressed as much as I had thought he would have by now. He is obviously still a brilliant player though.
I know that's hey I hate BaluDoubt Kroos would leave Bayern anytime soon, he's nailed on to be a starter for both club and country for the foreseeable future.
Someone wrote Draxler has as much potential as Götze, if not more. That's like saying Bale has as much potential as Messi, if not more. Not sure who, on the Caf, is under rating him? I think he's actually one of the most rated youngsters in recent years.
I'll live .I know that's hey I hate Balu
Aargh, sorry, I missed the top bit. Didn't know someone said that. Thought you might have been referring to my post about needing to "watch Gotze a bit more".Someone wrote Draxler has as much potential as Götze, if not more. That's like saying Bale has as much potential as Messi, if not more.
