Julian Draxler

He did it with Henry, why wouldn't he be able to do it with every other youngster with potential? Right? RIGHT?

Crazy if you ask me, I think it'd be a massive waste to stick him up front. Is he going to go for a 4-6-0? Play without a recognized striker or something.

I guess they play 4-5-0 when Bendtner is on the pitch.

Raptured a muscle fiber (at least I hope it's called that in English) at the beginning of December, not sure how long he'll be out in total. Afaik he's still in recovery and the club hasn't said when he will return.

Cool, how are Schalke looking as far as qualifying for CL? Hongstein tweeted he reckons they are inviting a bid because of their debt situation.

Why would Arsenal want Draxler? Don't they have enough attacking midfielders?

They'd be better off splashing the cash on a world class striker or strengthening their defense.

This is just pure speculation from me but I think Wenger feels he missed out on Gotze & Hazard and possibly sees Draxler as one of the biggest emerging talents and doesn't want to miss out again. Personally I think in our front three we need two players, one for the left side and one for the middle.

As for defence, if we can get Sagna to sign an extension then maybe a backup RB and backup CB if Vermaelen leaves.

I doubt it has anything to do with the debt situation. It's not that bad as far as I know, but like I said above, I doubt they care that much if he leaves, replacement already signed for peanuts and a lot of money to spend.

Wolfsburg seems to strengthen the team again in January, Dortmund should play better with less injuries, and Gladbach looks a quality side, so it's difficult for Schalke to finish 4th. Hard to predict really, if they find some consistency, Huntelaar will be back which should help them a lot, they could make it, but I don't think it's very likely.

For me he's a definite future number 9.

Don't think Arsenal will sign him after signing Ozil. Ramsey, Cazorla, Ox, Wilshere, Ozil, Walcott, Rosicky, Gnabry, Podolski and Miyaichi. Too many options in the attacking midfield department, I think it was a case of Draxler or Ozil last summer.

He's a better player than he's been allowed to be at Arsenal and it's not too often you'd hear that said.

Essentially the argument seems to go that if you play Podolski on the left, he won't help out the full back enough especially if you've got Walcott bombing on as well on the other side. It unbalances the team. He obviously can't play through the middle either - that was a failed experiment.

So he's a bit part player who comes on when we need a goal, a task at which he succeeds quite often. That's not enough for him though.

With walcott gone for the season, wont he see more playing time?

Up until last week Bendtner had scored more goals in '14 than Messi + Ronaldo combined. Deal with it.

A lot of talk that this is our idea for Draxler if he were to join. Wenger has done it with RvP and Henry, both of whom were about Draxler's size. I can see it happening if he did join us.

Why are we not involved in the Draxler conversation? Earlier this season there was a fair bit of talk that we were interested too, but it seems to be only Arsenal standing now. Perhaps we feel we have a good chance with Reus in the summer. That said I'm not sure if I'd prefer him to Draxler anyway.

Draxler wants to play the number 10 role doesn't he? I would love to sign him but I wouldn't go in for him until the summer window.

Reus or Draxler would be my two main transfer targets for the winger positions if I was Moyes.

If it was a choice between Draxler or Reus, it's Reus for me every time.

I wonder sometimes if these betting agencies are behind some of the rumours. They must make a killing in the transfer window.
I don't think there's much volume but the odds are lousy and it's cheap publicity for the bookies.

To me it seems like British journalists just write whatever seems to have a certain bite to it. So as long as it isn't reported by foreign media one rumour is probably as good as the other for the betting agencies.

It just seems weird that no other club around Europe seems to be linked with this kid.

He's reliable.

No, he really isn´t. Fjortoft just repeats what the BILD and Sky feed him and more often than not, he is completely off. This does not mean, that Draxler won´t move to Arsenal, but Fjortoft is as much as an expert as Honigstein, which actually insults the term "expert".

Yup. Didn't he claim that there's no chance Ole is gonna move to Cardif?

I'm also not sure why Schalke would sell him now when there's a good chance that his value would increase after the WC.

I've only followed him for a year, but he was one of the first omes to call Ozil to Arsenal and Goetze to Bayern Munich.

I think that was him. Re Draxler: he's put no date on when he'll leave. World Cup won't matter that much with regard to his value.

Highly unlikely that he will have an impact for Germany. I'm not even sure if he goes to Brazil if everyone's fit and his season so far was really nothing special.
