Juan Mata

Still raging that Chelsea managed to sign Mata. He's a player of the highest quality, easily world class for me.

Chelsea are going to be scary if they add a top quality striker and CM to the squad.

They should sign a striker and instead of a CM, their defense requires a better CB.

Still think their midfield needs to function better as a defensive unit - whether that's through the creative trio taking on more defensive responsibility or upgrading one of their central midfielders.

The most likable player in Chelsea for me, what a player. He has completely outshone David Silva. The best Spanish player in the league

That's because this season David Silva has been, well, a bit shit.

There's not a huge difference between Silva at his best and Mata at his best, if anything I'd say Mata is more adept at taking the game by the scruff of the neck.

Mata is the more productive and the one who's more cut out for the English game whereas Silva is the more elegant of the two

That team would be frightening with an Essien at the top of his game instead of Obi 'What the hell am I doing heeeere I don't belong heeeere' Mikel.

However, with a proper center forward and a good defensive minded center half at the back, I think their starting XI would be pretty impressive. But with them it's also about squad depth, they seemed to struggle a bit with rotation at points this season.

It's Makelele that payed the Mikel position, Essien used to do what Ramires does now.

I know, I worded it wrong. Even though Essien at his best looked more like Ramires, from the current team I'd take Obi Mikel out and put Essien there (he's still a Chelsea player isn't he?). At his best, you could play him anywhere and he'd be excellent and I just wonder whether he could get his place back into the team again (I think he'd be better than Obi Mikel), it wouldn't be a huge stretch of the mind, asking a box to box midfielder who's a bit older to revert to a holding position. But to be honest, it was just conjecture, I haven't watched him enough at Madrid and when I have he's been played at RB or LB (and looked decent), so I have no idea whether he's still capable of performing regularly as a CM.

The thing is last season was Silva's purple patch. Not this season where he wasnt as good. This season is his normal. But to give him credit he did get back towards his best in the last stretch of the season. Mata is always going to be the more productive in the final third and Silva is always going to be a bit more influencial in the buildup play, getting on the ball a bit more and a bit deeper.

He's class. You see Sturridge and Bale doing their wanky "made for TV" celebrations. Without fail, Mata will run over to the away fans and go mad.

People talk about Luiz as captain material - for me he is a leader on the pitch. Still remember him in the Nou Camp whipping everyone up when Messi missed the penalty. That was a captain's goal on Saturday if ever I've seen one.

He's class. One player I wish we went for, and he's a really likeable bloke too. Always seems to cause us plenty of problems.

I'm baffled as to why he doesn't get the same kind of attention others do. He's involved in everything good Chelsea do and he's constantly affecting the big games.

I reckon he might be the best player in the league

Money + Mata = Rooney.

A month ago, I wouldn't. Now it seems that Rooney more or less will be off - I'd say yes.

Carrick CM

Zaha Kagawa Mata

RVP

I'm done.

A month ago I'd have been more than happy with a straight swap. Today they allegedly make a bid with money and its rejected.

I trust the people who know best, but I'm personally baffled if they've offered mata in exchange, why would you swap your best player for Rooney!?

They need Rooney more than they need Mata. He may have been a stand out last season but they have an abundance of quality players that can do a job in the #10 role.

Why would they even consider that? He was their player of the year last season and they're only going for Rooney opportunistically. What's wrong with some of you people?

Stop getting high off your own fumes.

This is bizarre. Arguably the craziest transfer window ever and people thought things will supposedly calm down due to FFP.

The offer, if true, looks very good. We should take it and move on, unless we are confident in getting a deal done for Bale or Ronaldo .

I know you'll laugh at me for this, but the rumours around Mata are too ridiculous for the press to make up, in my view.

If I was writing a made-up story for the papers, I'd never write one about Mata leaving Chelsea. It's just so unrealistic. This whole thing came up earlier this summer and now it's reared up again. I reckon there's some level of seriousness to it.

Take that 10 extra mi, and shove it all at Fabregas. I would be in muppet heaven!

And the Illuminati Lizard people NOT trying to kill Alex Jones or David Icke is obviously evidence of their existence.

Mata is brilliant and precisely what we need. He's two years younger too. It's bonkers from Chelsea's perspective, and great from ours. Why would Chelsea do that? Why would any club do that?
