Juan Mata

Any chance of Madrid or Barca bringing him back to Spain?

Deemed surplus, like many from RM's cantera but even Callejon eventually came back and Negredo seemingly wanted to. There's always a chance but I've never really read much about him wanting to go back there. Less chance to come back to an already crowded midfield at Barcelona.

From the look of it, he seems happy & appreciated in England - I see no reason why that would change. Especially if more Spanish players continue to trickle into the Premiership

Shame, cheers for the reply.

Rumours that Pep wants to take him to Bayern, but I agree that he seems happy in London. I think he'll be with us for a good few years yet.

Mata on the wing would be a waste. He should be the main man, playing more central like now.

Yeah, think it's mental that he's not mentioned as one of the stand out players more in the league this season, his stats are very impressive, especially as he's arguably not in his best position much of the time and has to deal with trying to supply Torres.

Yeah, he's fantastic. Better player than Carzola and Silva since they've all been in the league.

You cannot stop players like him, he's like Messi. Technique wise he's too good to stop.

You stop him by not giving him space. We didn't even try to stop him today.

Even then he is incredible about threading balls through the tightest of gaps. Class player and one of Chelsea's more likeable ones.

I hate Mata for making me like a Chelsea player... it's a bit of a Catch-22 situation.

He was quality today, particularly in the second half.

This guy is just a top class footballer. Just a true playmaker and wants to make things happen. Not afraid to get on the ball and dictate things. We need someone like him. I thought Kagawa would be that player but Kagawa doesn't get on the ball often enough to dictate things.

I'm terrified for him. If his beard grows any further up his face he's going to have to start shaving his eyeballs.

There were many on here that said he was better than Hazard

I think that was due to the fact they didnt get Hazard and was a bit of sour grapes.

That being said Kagawa has the potential to be a great player too, but has found the EPL hard to adjust to and not being played in the same manner as BD doesnt help either.

Hazard has starred at times but not as much as Mata, but then Mata has had an extra season, i'm so pleased we got him and not Arsenal!

I think its more laughable that some said Cazorla was better than Mata at one point this season! Not that Santi is exactly bad either.

Before coming to the PL I think it was fair to say Kagawa was better than Hazard. Since arriving Hazard has been better but Kagawa has been disrupted by injury. Given the £20M difference in thier prices I still think we got the far better deal.

I'm a big fan of Mata. Fantastic to watch, brilliant footballer.

I think people are starting to realise that Mata is the superior player to Silva as well. Comparable stats in Mata's first season, but he has as you say gone up a level from last season.

I expect the same leap from Hazard and Oscar next season.

I don't think we did. Hazard's potential looks to be fantastic, and should he develop as he should really do under a top club then he could make it into the top bracket of players in the future. I just don't see the same in Kagawa.

Too early to tell yet, think Hazard has a bit more potential than Kagawa. If he fulfills that potential then he might be an excellent signing and a better deal. Think Kagawa was a less risky signing but with a corresponding lower celing of potential. Still quality though.

Think Oscar may need a couple, hes got tons of ability, but those Brazillians do like to bed in the EPL. Still hes not exactly been poor for us and scored some stunning and crucial goals. If you imagine for a second Arsenal had gotten Mata instead like they nearly did, and had Cazorla and kept RVP they could have a pretty scary attack.

Its a funny situation because the whole Kagawa Vs. Hazard thing was down to us signing Kagawa, a specialised in the hole player, and Hazard insisting that he's going to play that same role this season. So it was only natural to compare them and in that position Kagawa has won the bundasliga double and 2 german league titles. Hazard had done nothing.

Then we signed RVP and Hazard went to Chelsea. Neither Kagawa nor Hazard ended up playing much in the hole, for Kagawa because of Rooney and RVP plus injury. For Hazard because... Well firstly because they signed Oscar who also plays there. But when he wasnt starting much at all, simply because Mata is better and Chelsea want to use him centrally

I was certain when we signed Hazard that we would end up selling him for more than we bought him for - nothing I have seen has dissuaded me from that belief.

 Already thinking about moving him on. What about keeping your better players and winning the league?

I don't think you will. If you don't manage to stop the Manchester dominance of the Premiership and if you don't perform in Europe I can see him not signing a new contract. I know it sounds bitter because we didn't get him, but with the manner that he chose to announce who he was signing for gives me the impression that there's not a lot of loyalty in him. I don't know if he signed for you because you're London based, had success in Europe or because of money but when you could take your pick as to where to play, Chelsea really wouldn't seem like the top choice given their Russian roulette of mangers and ageing squad.

Oscar is your best attacking midfielder, he hasn't shown even half of what he was capable of at Internacional. He's still getting used to the league, I'll say next season is when he'll really come alive. I was hoping he'd go to a Spanish club first of all before coming over here for obvious reasons, but the way he's settled in has impressed me.

Hazard looked more impressive when he come on, I thought. The Mata love-in's a bit strange really.
