Juan Mata

Chelsea's front 4 are great on the ball - it's what happens behind that's the problem. Norwich made a number of chances and blew them.

Has been in excellent form in the past month or so.
6 assists and 6 goals in the last five starts for Chelsea.

Shame he got a rest for Spain, now he can continue to play game after game and be one of the best players in the league.

Unbelievable that he can't get into the Spain team! Started off the season slow but was absolutely top class today. Going to be a nightmare to defend against next weekend.

Well I always said there was more to come from him, its not really a surprise that he's scoring lots of goals now Chelsea actually have players who can set him up. He was getting 20 a season at Valencia in all competitions

A lot of people were too think to underrate last season when in the second half he found it naturally tougher. He's a quality player and now surrounded by players on the same wavelength (Hazard and Oscar), he shines even more.

The emergence of ramires as a top midfielder who does all the dirty work has added to their resurgence as well. Exactly the type of midfielder we lack.

I do think Kagawa will turn out just as good given time though. But we definately need to change our style of play to accomodate that just like chelski have done.

I forgot Ramires and even Mikel who has been one of their most consistent performers since last season has done well

Ramires and Kagawa... Yeah nothing alike whatsoever.

He's beasting, such a clever footballer. Bet theres a few teams who wish they'd went for him, bit of a gutter he's ended up with the chavs

Seems to have a knack of being effective in the final third against us. Wasnt it last time out he created 2 and hit the bar with a freekick?

Flourishing

He's bloody good.

Just like Silva - NEVER loses the ball while still being creative and dangerous all game.

Cracking player. Impossible to dislike him as well, seems like a nice bloke. That he doesn't get a look in with the Spanish NT just shows the bags of quality they have, he'd be starting in almost any (if not all) other team.

Then consider that Valencia had an attack consisting of Villa, Silva and Mata... and still couldn't finish higher than 3rd in La Liga.

I know, although I believe they've all progressed and blossomed once they left Valencia. Well maybe Villa was already at his peak when he was there, but Silva and Mata I think have gotten even better since they left the club. They both left when they were relatively young, I believe, and Valencia didn't get their best years out of them. Villa stayed with them till he was around 28 I think.

I would debate it. I think Silva's top level is fractionally higher. This season though, no question who's been better.

He's a damn good player. Doesn't get rated enough I feel. He's damn good on set pieces and delivers every season, yet we usually rate Nani and Valencia over him.

It's probably debatable... but if I had to pick one to have at United, it would be Mata.

In fact, if I could pick any player in the league to be at United, it may well be Mata...

A few more million would have got United Mata over Young. I know football doesn't work like that though, he's quality. Can't imagine he's on much more than Young's reported to be.

I think Kagawa will turn out to be as influential as Mata and Silva in the future, but you can tell that Ferguson admires them both with our reported interest in them when in Spain, and the fact that he's brought in probably the closest player to their styles that was available to us in Kagawa.

Silva is technically better and more elegant imo but in terms of overall effectiveness and end product they are at about the same level.

Mata is more effective when it comes to scoring goals and providing assists. He is a workman like player though. Silva has more flair in his game.
