That control and pass out wide to Amad for the 3rd was Berbatov style
He's brilliant at that. A counter attacker's dream. I hope he grows in confidence because we need both him and Hojlund hungry and chomping at the bit to impress. That control and pass out wide to Amad for the 3rd was Berbatov style
That's it. He's ruined now.Delighted for JZ. He was immense today, hope he kicks on from here on out.
It was such a good spot. There were other way more obvious, not anywhere near as incisive passes on. Perfect weight too. That control and pass out wide to Amad for the 3rd was Berbatov style
He reminded me of the title of Juan Mata's book...
Some have been so quick to write him off that they can't backtrack now for the sake of pride and e-credibility, which means even when he has good games, the credit that is due won't be there, but the moment he has a lesser performance, they'll post in droves.
Kind of depressing way for a stall be set out for a new player to the: league; country and a club the sheer size of Manchester United to be greeted and treated, especially so when some of our greatest ever signings had awful trials by fire before proving themselves. He's also young, which has its own settling in problems for many. At the very least, there should be an amnesty on the dire takes and he be judged anew under a coach who knows what he's doing and seemingly, how to get the player settled and comfortable - Zirkzee is far too inexperienced to be on the receiving end of negative campaigns against him; just draw a line under that and try assess him with fresh eyes, rather than been obstinate about a hastily formed initial view that was, quite frankly, over eager and unreasonable, given this isn't some veteran or player forged in the fires of the PL.
It's quite obvious what he provides and if this is him just finding his feet, with time, confidence and an organic growth of synergies and familiarity, he could go on to have a rather unique profile, one that is very difficult for opposing managers to prepare for with the way he effortlessly drifts through the lines and also seamlessly plays through half spaces.
With a MotM performance under his belt and the exaltation that comes with that, maybe he goes out there next time with a feeling that he's found somewhere he can be loved and that he and what he offers is worth a great deal to the team, moreover, that the fanbase appreciate what he is and how he contributes to the cause.
Yeah absolutely. Amorim's confidence outline an understanding and appreciation for the player Zirkzee is, and in turn, how best to use him instead of trying to make him a lung-busting #9 who is constantly running the line and doing outright striker(y) things. He's clearly not that kind of player, and now he's not forced to try and be that, we'll get to see organic growth with a more relaxed player, safer in the knowledge that what he's trying to do is not being frowned upon by the coach.Best thing to happen for Zirkzee and most of our players is Eth getting sacked and also having manager like Amorim.
Post match Amorim said something everyone knew, which player himself mentioned, that he is not a 9, more of a 10 than 9. Amorim mentioned that and how we have to make sure we get best out of players with tactical tweaks. Zirkzee plays well when he is a conductor with players making runs. Yesterday that happened and apart from his goals he displayed what he brings to the team. His pass to Amad chance was very good, same with his pass to Amad for third goal.
He is finding his feet in PL, it will take time and I dont know who will play more among the players fighting for CF position, but one good thing is we have players who offers something different for attacking roles. Its always good to have players like this.
Interesting but true comment from Amorim saying Hojlund wouldn't be able to battle with the Everton defenders and that's why Zirkzee was playing in this set up, dragging them away into the middle of the field.
Really good game from Zirkzee and delighted he got two goals.
Everton are one of the most physical teams in the league in fairness, and Hojilund is still developing physically and his game at 21 years. It's not that he doesn't trust him, more so that he needs to work on dealing with it better.
Yeah, these comps always miss something. I think it's because people rush making them so they can get more views.Nice, shame it's missing the pass of the game to Amad, for the third goal.
That's it. He's ruined now.
I'll hold my hands up and say I'd written him off completely. Looked completely lost until last night. Hoping he kicks on from here, his all round play was great and hopefully this gives him the confidence boost he needed.
If he scores two goals in a game the mood on here will change drastically.

Hands up who kept faith
Me, technically gifted and makes the rest of the team play better.
I am absolutely here to collect my flowers. Give them up people!
I read it was to do with Call of Duty and some emote type thing, ala Griezmann and that cringey Fornite dance he used to do. Cavani had such a top tier celebration and pulled it off.His goal celebration is fine, what am I missing? It's not anything like Fowler sniffing coke is it?
I tnink he arrived overweight too and also not expecting the demand physically that he found in the prem.Told you all he was mint.
I don't think Ten Hag ever really fancied him. Every presser where he mentioned Zirkzee he was on about him needing to attack the box more, when he's not really that type of player. Amorim puts him in as a sort of attacking pivot with runners around him and Zirkzee comes alive. Looking forward to seeing more of him - plenty of games to go round for our attackers this month.
Stewards need to pick up on this a bit more, it happens too often and nobody should have to sit with a weird type of tension because of some bellend. I remember my first ever time at OT around 02/03... Ended up sat behind my teacher, like literally the seat behind her, by total coincidence, and there was a guy shouting 'Sol Campbells a monkey' all the way through the game and nothing was said or done each of the 20+ times he shouted it, clearly looking for a reaction. My fave part of the game yesterday... I was watching in the Stretford End near this fella who was giving Zirkzee absolute dog's abuse from the opening whistle. Screaming expletives at him constantly... going on about how he's the worst player he's seen in 30 years. We get that you don't like him mate, but it was awkwardly over the top. It was like he wanted everyone in the ground to know how much he hated Zirkzee.
When his first goal went in, about twenty fans who were watching near him all jumped on him and started wildly celebrating. Proper limbs! Same thing happened when Zirkzee bagged his second too. By this point, the fan is sat down with his head in his hands. Great stuff.
It's the new Kendrick Lamar, one of my favourites on the album! That audio
The positional map was interesting. Zirkzee's average position was behind both Bruno and Rashford. Rashford was the furthest player forward.Told you all he was mint.
