Did a ton of good today. His one touch passing was especially brilliant.
Happy he got 2 goals. Him and Højlund being so different is a good thing as it makes us more versatile
 
Interesting but true comment from Amorim saying Hojlund wouldn't be able to battle with the Everton defenders and that's why Zirkzee was playing in this set up, dragging them away into the middle of the field.

Really good game from Zirkzee and delighted he got two goals.

He seems decent holding off the defenders and very very good at bringing others into play. This actually gives another dimension to our game. I can see him getting a lot of game time. Only worry is how poor/slow he is off the ball. But this is even more visible in front 3 of him, Rashford and Bruno.
 
His pass to Amad in the buildup to the third goal was outstanding.

Only seen the highlights but looks like he had an absolute stormer.

It would be nice to see Zirkzee against the Arsenal defenders and whilst it would be a nice surprise to see both him and Hojlund starting, I doubt that will happen.

I think he can bully defenders with his size if he really wants to hone his game.
 
He's been terrible so far and I had written him off.

It would be bloody great to finally be proven wrong and to see a coach come in and actually improve a player for a change.
 
Excellent today, did well with the finishes for both goals and his link up play was top quality.
 
Really hope he turns a corner and that Amorim manages to get the best out of him.

He's definitely better than what he showed up until today.
 
He was good today but still not fully convinced. Looks clumsy on the ball. Anyway early days, hopefully he’ll come good.
 
Time will tell, but much better from him today. Took his goals very well and his link up play was also on point. Hopefully will be a beneficiary of the new system.
 
Happy for him, there's a lot of talent in there but he's looked absolutely shattered in terms of confidence since the Liverpool game. Do have my doubts about his style of play in this league long term, it seems like games have to be in very specific states to suit him. But certainly a useful player to have in the squad and should not have been written off so early into his United career. Need to just keep creating chances for him like we did today and have runners play off of him. That pass to Amad in the first half will be forgotten but it was lovely. Still wish he as a lot stronger in the air, he has good instincts with flick ons but plays much shorter than he is.

Even if it doesn't work out I'm glad INEOS saw the opportunity to buy a good young player on an upswing below market value with a RC and took it. If it doesn't work out I think we could recoup a decent amount of that money.
 
He's a really nice player to watch on the ball when it's clicking for him. Hope to see more of this from him, some of his flicks and passes today were exceptional.
 
Good to see Amorim getting performances out of the squad as a whole, hope it continues. Some lovely link up from Zirkzee today, that's what he brings at his best.
 
Now I see what they seen. Believe it or not that link up play today was a step forward for us. Bruno, Rashford Amad and Dalot really did make the most of his link up play.

Wonder if Amorim has had him on a fitness programme because he seemed much more mobile today.
 
Good to see him shining today. Played today like how I saw him playing for Netherlands in his debut or in his highlights from his time at Bologna. Starting up top and then dropping deep to help link up play.

There's a very good player with some obvious deficiencies. Technically very refined, can finish with both feet and his link up play is very good. His one touch passing can look very sublime if it comes off and some of the chances he created like the one for Amad in the first half or his pass for the 3rd goal showcased his excellent vision.

That 3rd goal also highlights his weakness. Plays a wonderful pass and then just jogs into the box. Needs to have a bit more intensity to get into the box as you can be end of that chance. Also for a tall guy, I have rarely seen his aerial ability shine.

All in all a very good game from him and I hope he builds on it. Him and Hojlund have different strengths and weaknesses and if Amorim can use them to their strengths there's no reason why they can't score decent amount of goals.
 
Had his teammates to thank for his 2 goals today, but he deserved a few chances on a plate.

Hopefully it’s signs of more things to come from him and the team.

Happy for him, and Rashford, both needed a confidence boost.
 
It’s mental how quickly the poor lad was written off on here. Obviously he might still fail at United but I will never not find it shocking the way people watch a new player put in a few poor performances and decide that he could not possibly play any better than he did in those few games. Ridiculous really.
 
I think we can all agree that was his best game for us by a country mile.
Still not sure he'll ever be a regular starter, but we will see - everyone has their chance which is how it should be.

Really petty, but I hope the club stops his machine gun celebration. There's no need for that imo.
 
With performances like today, he may have a role here. Well taken goals, some neat passes and generally good impression today
 
I think if he really settles and plays to his full ability he could have a similar effect as Firmino at
Liverpool. Not expected to score more than 12-15 a season but to be the key passer in the final 3rd.

Agreed, maybe I’m getting old but this in the same week rasmus mimed throat slitting was a bit much

Interested to see what Amorim thinks Hojlund can do. It’s a number 9s job to deal with defenders so it he doesn’t trust him to do that where does he play?

Everton are one of the most physical teams in the league in fairness, and Hojilund is still developing physically and his game at 21 years. It's not that he doesn't trust him, more so that he needs to work on dealing with it better.

Hojlund shouldn't be anywhere near the team against Arsenal. Hes a very average footballer at this moment in time at 21. Rashford up top all day long where Amorim seems to be getting the best out of him.

We are rotating the team alot as the manager said we would. Don’t read to much into what hes saying. Hes justifying the selection to the press.
 
He seems quite introverted and shy, but has obvious physical and technical qualities.
The rotation may help him and he will need time and support to feel confident in his environment.

His celebrations showed some of this, but he didnt shy away from it which is a good sign.
 
I hope not only his celebration is gun blazing. He can be a gun blazing kind of player too. Has the physicality just need more explosiveness. Attacking the space and all that.
