Don't sell him, he has more to give
I feel like the day he got booed/cheered off may be the start of an amazing redemption arc. Would be an all time great story in our history.

I'm just not sure he's capable of it yet

Very good cameo today. Very good hold up play throughout. Bayindir was clearly playing long balls to him for him to hold up on his chest Fellaini style, which amused me.
His dribbling and passing looked good, but he still needs to limber up, a more flexible, perhaps mentally sharp striker wouldn't have been wrong footed so much by that ball that was just behind him.
Great mental strength to step up to take the last penalty. Hopefully he's turned the corner here in his Utd career

Yes but not a better athlete and that is important too. If they could be merged, it would be quite a good player i think
I was actually just thinking this
Statistically one of the best finishers in the league with someone with very good hold up and link up play

I still don't think zirkzee can crack in this league but one thing he does not lack is a tough mentality. I want him to stay here and become this amazing player and prove people like me wrong. Loved his reaction since being booed.

Did well when he came on.
Good penalty given the pressure
Some good defensive clearances as well

The way he just sheepishly waved at the crowd after scoring the winner, kinda funny.

One moment i also enjoyed was when the fans in the live thread was moaning about Zirkzee already (since he came on for about 5 minutes) and then he did a dubble nutmeg on Saliba (i think?) and started a good counter with Amad.

That took incredible mental strength to take that 5th penalty today after what happened against Newcastle. I was really pleased for him.

I think Amorim believes in him also.

Excellent today. His composure and slick passing was vital to us getting some breathing space after going down to 10 men. The ball seemed to stick to him.

These performance threads read like an acid trip. It's either, this dude isnt fit to be a pro, he looks like a contest winner, I wouldnt let my dog poop on him or, wow he was great, always knew he was class, lets give him a run of games.

I love it.

Great to see that tonight, showed huge fortitude to come out and play well, then take that penalty after everything. I like many others thought he was a sure fire dud, but who knows. Keep it going Zirkzee.

Loved his cameo today. Especially the waving at the crowd when he scored the winning pen. Was he waving bye to the Arsenal fans as they got knocked out? If so, brilliant!

I wonder if his celebration at the end was waving goodbye to the United fans. There are rumours he’s leaving right?

Happy for the kid. Has had to deal with some really unfair and unreasonable shite.

Showed allot of strength and quality on the ball when he came on, linked up nicely with Amad, beautiful skill to put the 2 arsenal defenders on their backside and great mental strength and mentality to take the 5th penalty.

I’m pleased that he got the winning pen as that shows some mental toughness. He no way should be starting for us unless he improves massively but he’s a good option off the bench.

When the current alternative is Hojlund I see no reason why Zirkzee should be denied a run in the starting 11

I'm happy for him.

He gets booed, but he doesn't quit. Lets face it, some players would quit and give up. He says he doesn't want to transfer out and he wants to fight for his spot. This is the kind of attitude that is needed by more players in the squad. Looking forward to the lazy players leaving, and players who want to fight for a spot staying. Iron sharpens Iron. Competition in the squad makes everyone better, and when players give it their all and are fighting to get playing time, it makes everyone better.

Slowly the culture is changing for the better. Hope to see all the bad attitude players gone by the summer.

Better performance today. Showed some bravery on the ball. Good decision making and effort in spurts.

P.s. His shooting technique is poor. Feels like he’s snatching at the shot sometimes. He favors what an only be described as a hard driven pass versus a curler (Gapko vs United) or a driven shot (Pick any from Valverdes collection).

Delighted for him. Very nice cameo and strong mentality to put away the winning pen. Hope this kick starts his United career.

A lot of people have pointed out that he does better coming on as a sub.

I've been one of the few who've seen potential in him as his technique is impressive, but I've also said his biggest problem is his speed of play. He flourished in Italy which is a pretty slow league whereas, here, he seems to be caught out with how little time you get on the ball.

Well, playing against tiring legs where he gets an extra second or two on the ball to make a decision is probably similar to how much time he had in Italy. If he can just adjust to the pace of the game from the off, he could be some player.

Anyway, here's a video on his performance:

I didn’t and don’t understand the grief he gets. He’s getting sharper and more adjusted to English football and he clearly has the technique and brain to play at tempo. He’s also quietly has been slow, sloppy (read: overwhelmed) at times, but there is a clear progression to his output, so the grief he gets doesn’t make sense to me.

He’s shown some serious mental fortitude to feck off the boo boys and carry on with his game. Honestly thought that would be the last we ever saw of him, but no; he has the balls, after all that has happened, to take the 5th and final penalty in an intense, brutal game with knackered and tense energy and a baying crowd and win us the game. Even if you think he looks lackadaisical and indifferent, he’s showing there’s a fire and nerve in there that you haven’t factored into this kid’s make up.

To my eye, he has a bright future ahead of him, and what we see now won’t be what is seen 18months from now. This ‘not suited to the league’ narrative is premature and naive, in my opinion.

You could see his confidence getting back in this match little by little. The Saliba nutmegs and then the near-goal from the deflection - stepping up for the 5th penalty was some testicular fortitude and we need that more than ever

made few good runs, also he's guarding the ball very well, fantastic shot in the OT but a wonder save by Raya. A good game all in all, happy for him to be the one scoring the winning pen.

Because every time he has started a match he has looked way to slow and plodding. Against tired legs he has been very good. Watch him start against Southhampton and deliver another stinker, with Højlund being subbed on and playing better and this whole flip flop will continue with Højlund starting next match and delivering a stinker and Zirkzee being subbed on and playing very well. We need a striker who is ready and in his prime with the energy for the Prem.
Zirkzee as a sub would be fine. Especially as he can they slowly grow. He is still young.

There cannot be an omission of adaptation to a much, much faster and aggressive league. He is clearly still getting to grips with the speed of thought and action he must have and that will take time. That is not unique to him at all as athletically able players who’ve not caught up in the head find themselves susceptible to the same things.

The problem with the upcoming games for both of them is that the opposition are considerably inferior relative to playing champions elect and CL qualifying teams so different things will be asked of either of them. Theoretically, there should be an uptick in opportunity to express and display their ability. We’ll see how that pans out, but I don’t think it’s as base as starter/sub determining good/bad.

That meg is sexy an’ all but check this out.

Look at his starting position when Raya releases the ball. And look who makes the first tackle.

Anyone who says De Ligt is slow needs to give their head a wobble
