Deserves a chance, he's a naturally deeper player and will get involved in the play, it's what we need right now.

Fair play to him, I’ve been critical of him but respect his application. Hope he didn’t take the booing the other week personally, it was clearly more of a general fustration with the state of things at the time.

Weirdly, I think the booing did him good. Looks a strong character to bounce back from that so quickly.

Actually played well when he came on, other than playing in Amad a bit too late I thought he did well.

Having the guts to take the fifth penalty and acoring it in such a game after the shite he received deserves lot of praise.

So pleased for this guy, it’s clear any player needs time to adapt to a new environment but too many are rabid in their impatience and write off good players before they have shown what they can do.

Great cameo, calm penalty to win it and hope he gets a confidence boost from this.

He's quite regularly been good when coming off the bench. Unfortunately, other than one or two of his early matches, he's struggled badly whenever he's started them.

In saying that, his last couple of sub appearances (and Hojlund's very poor starts) means he deserves a chance to start upfront again.

Buzzing for him...played very well when he came on and took his penalty well

Fair play to the matchgoing away fans who have cheered his name last two games and encouraged a young lad adapting to a new country and league. If it was up to the average fan online or pub goer then his confidence would be even more shot.

Seemed to have a bit more fire and zip about him today.

What United players need to realise is that, rather bizarrely for a club who has won as much as we've won, our fans will always forgive lack of skill / mistakes if effort and endeavour are always 100%. Arguably our fans love a warrior like Vidic, Keane and Martinez over players who were much better technically.

His languid, lethargic manner will also lead to criticism whenever he doesn't play well, even if that's his natural style. He must continue to play with passion.

Decent outing, that. Would love for him to turn it around.

Impressive off the bench and happy with the way Zirkzee played today. Now he has to start doing the same when he starts.

I think he's quite effective off the bench. He looks so awkward and clumsy in everything he does but it seems to put defenders off.

I’m pleased that he got the winning pen as that shows some mental toughness. He no way should be starting for us unless he improves massively but he’s a good option off the bench.

Really impressed with his hold up play tonight!

That time he danced around two of their players was Berba-esque!

I wouldnt be cheering him off to Juve this soon - i think for what Amorim wants from his striker, at this stage, Zirkzee might offer a better option than Hojlund!

Sprinted back like a mad man when Arsenal was countering after he came on, I had to check twice if it was really him.

Clearly has talent. Id start him for a couple of games in a row because I prefer him to Hojlund

Very good cameo today. Made far more of an impact than Hojlund. At least he got on the ball and brought others into the game. So glad he scored the pen and got to celebrate in front of the fans, it would have been cruel if he had missed that.

Ultimately though, I'm still not convinced he's good enough for United or the PL. He had a chance to play Amad through at one stage and waited so long that Amad was miles offside. And I don't know what it is with his shooting but he tries to side foot everything, any danger he could put his f**king foot through it once in a while?!

He might start against Southampton now.

Swings and roundabouts, jeered off a few weeks ago at home with an embarrassing first half subscription, then comes back from despair to put in a good performance and score the winning penalty to take the team through.

It's a good testament to his mentality, even with a difficult start his representatives have likely tipped the media that he's disinterested in leaving and wants to fight for his position. Especially his former experience being at a big club at Bayern failing to live up to expectations to then bouncing back in Italy.

I think his application has been lacking at times but I'd rather stick things out with Zirkzee as the number two compared to Hojlund having that position. He's got way more to his general play but he needs a run of games playing as the striker not the left or right 10.

Going to depend on what sort of striker Amorin wants in his system. Gyokeres is not a no. 9 but a playmaker and goal scorer. Not saying Zirkzee is any way close to him but maybe he fits more than Hojlund (or Hojlund needs time to and training to adapt).

I'm pleased for him, but I don't think he can give us what we need up top... Rasmus works a lot, that is at least something.
Just think Zirkzee is limited.

Can't underestimate what that moment could do for Josh's United career.

Had a rough ride in a United shirt so far, but I hope that can be a shot of confidence he needs for him to kick on a bit.
