That meg is sexy an’ all but check this out.
Look at his starting position when Raya releases the ball. And look who makes the first tackle.
Great run back. Tackle is foolish though and could have easily cost us given the ref

It was clean as a nut. Nothing but ball. Not even this referee could find a reason to penalise a tackle that clean.
Also getting fouled about 3 separate times.
Not going to lie, was extremely nervous for that penalty - can't imagine the pressure he was under - pleased he's had this redemption arc after the jeering

Martinez' injured runup really made Raya look like a moronSeeing Raya constantly divining out of the way probably helped boost his confidence!
A lot of people have pointed out that he does better coming on as a sub.
I've been one of the few who've seen potential in him as his technique is impressive, but I've also said his biggest problem is his speed of play. He flourished in Italy which is a pretty slow league whereas, here, he seems to be caught out with how little time you get on the ball.
Well, playing against tiring legs where he gets an extra second or two on the ball to make a decision is probably similar to how much time he had in Italy. If he can just adjust to the pace of the game from the off, he could be some player.
Anyway, here's a video on his performance:
Because every time he has started a match he has looked way to slow and plodding. Against tired legs he has been very good. Watch him start against Southhampton and deliver another stinker, with Højlund being subbed on and playing better and this whole flip flop will continue with Højlund starting next match and delivering a stinker and Zirkzee being subbed on and playing very well.
He’s been here for less than 6 months, is in a new league, didn’t get a proper preseason and is playing under his 3rd manager since being transferred.I think we need to be realistic. I worry that some fans seem to be easily carried away, too emotive. Joshua Zirkzee is not good enough for Man Utd. I'm pleased for him with recent matters at OT, booed off was just out of order, so I am happy for him. But he needs to think about what type of player he wants to be at Man Utd, because his style and quality aren't good enough. He isn't strong, fast, demanding, he doesn't break his neck to score goals.. he drifts around like someone in a dreamland. He isn't clinical. He seems willing to let a game pass him by, rather than impose himself on a match. Compare him to Garnacho, or Amad.
To write that kind of post after a 'we need to be realistic' part is remarkable, kudos.I think we need to be realistic. I worry that some fans seem to be easily carried away, too emotive. This is my point. I sometimes why it takes so long for people to state the obvious. How long would you give Zirkzee, a season to get up to the pace of the Premiership? And where does he play, a No 9? Is he going to lead the line, score goals? To write that kind of post after a 'we need to be realistic' part is remarkable, kudos.
I took at him reacquainting himself with the fans or waving the Arsenal fans goodbyeI wonder if his celebration at the end was waving goodbye to the United fans. There are rumours he’s leaving right?
He's a youngish player who's come in from a vastly different type of league and has struggled a bit, the ones who've gone overboard are the ones who keep saying he's crap, not United level withough giving him a proper chance to find his feet, he's shown glimpses of what he can do and if he can maintain that and show more then he'll be fineI’m glad he scored the winning penalty but he’s done one good thing a striker should do and one other good thing and some people have gone totally overboard.

I guess you wouldn't give him even a season? This is my point. I sometimes why it takes so long for people to state the obvious. How long would you give Zirkzee, a season to get up to the pace of the Premiership? And where does he play, a No 9? Is he going to lead the line, score goals?
That's not his game, and I actually think it is a little unfair on him to expect more.
