Not Jose, but the reputation the media have built for Jose. At every club he has been at, he gets a mixture of prospects, players that have had breakout seasons and experience.

That's an average age of 25 for his signings. Zlatan and Sanchez are the only players with potential of 1-2 years in them, but the vast majority would have taken those signings and Zlatan is still arguably our best transfer post-SAF since he was free and would have carried on being one of our best player had it not been for a freak injury.

Yes, a lot of exciting young talent around, have a feeling that Neves will increase his value by a lot if he stays at wolves for next season, would be an interesting option for Utd as well I reckon.
 
Won't be popular but if we really are going for another midfielder (Fellaini replacement). I'd really like Luka Milivojević of Palace. Quietly had a brilliant season scoring 10 league goals and is used to partnering Matić in the Serbian midfield. He's impressed me so much for Serbia.
 
We could have a great team for less than 200m.

Maybe it would be a better option than spending on Alderweireld (70m), Sandro (60m), Savic (100m), Bale (100m).
 
We might be done after Alderweireld. I have a feeling we’ll get him for no particular reason.
 
Surely once the WC is over we'll sign 4 great players in 3 weeks...

I really don’t think we’ll sign anyone else for fullback, which is really depressing. Hopefully the players in the other positions will be able to make up for our ongoing issues there.
 
I'm loving this world cup, but I'm starting to notice the boringness of the transfer world now I've clocked the days that has no World Cup games on.

I hope we have another two signings in the pipe-line. I think Fred is as marquee as it'll get though.
 
Jesus, to get Ronaldo and Kroos from Real Madrid in the same window you'd have to send them a cryogenically preserved clone of SAF in 1986.

"Here, we were saving this to use in harsh times, but we really could use Ronaldo and Kroos instead".

We just signed Dalot, so I guess we are not going to sign another RB.
Gaya signed a contract extension a month ago (until 2023).
Toby would be a great signing but Levy is asking 75m for him. I hope we can sign him for the 45m you mentioned.
Malcom is a good choice for our RW position. Sadly, it seems that he is off to Inter.

I was far to be right. I mentioned Meunier, Alderweireld and Sandro to improve our defense, but it seems we are going to continue with Valencia/Young as our fullbacks all the year.

Also, I thought there were a lot of options for the RW position. Now, it seems that there aren't to many quality right wingers left.

On the other hand, it's good to have Pereira back, and I hope Chong can have some minutes in the coming season.

We got over 20m so far from Blind and Johnstone .

We should get close to 40m if Rojo and Darmian are sold too.

If Zaha moves, that would probably be another 10+ from the sell on clause. (probably more as we get a decent %)


Those cover Fred and Dalot.

We should have money to spend.. A decent amount too.

And all this without selling Martial.
 
We're only getting a CB I reckon, nothing more. But we'll definitely sign a CB, even if it's way over the odds and close to deadline day.
 
Feel for those who believed that times headline was even remotely true. No doubt they'll be back next year to sucker more fans for clicks

'summer warchest' articles pop up every year and summer comes and fans see nothing of the sort. Heck they probably read fansites to source clickbait ideas. Six new signings was always wildly optimistic when the board had already passed the 'sell to buy' directive as far back as last year
 
We need to take the bloody hit this window and sort out as much as we can. That's what City did and it worked wonders for them. Get Maguire/Toby, Pulisic and a LB. Offload who we can and move on as a team. Doing it this window would hopefully result in being able to penny pinch in further windows. Couple that with the fact that if we continue to refuse to acknowledge the problems then the more chances we have of missing out on the CL. We are stuck with players year after year who clearly aren't good enough and not in the long term plans of the club.


Any of Mata, Fellaini, Shaw, Darmian, Rojo and Jones are dispensable. It's crazy that some of them are still at the club and seem to be blocking us from signing players who will have a proper part to play here.

That's exactly what i thought, There was no way we would sign two CMs if Fellaini stayed, we have a lot of players in that position. Pereira is back as well.

LB was always gonna be related to shaw leaving. him not wanting to go changed the equation for us. we were heavily linked to Sandro at the begining of the summer. The rumours stopped when those about Shaw's wanting to stay started.

We're really missing an RW and CB from that list. a CB is definitely gonna be signed. RW nobody knows, we haven't been linked to anyone of note.
 
I think Jose will go for Rebic if Martial goes. Essentially Jose will prefer someone who covers every blade of grass than someone who can bring the magic sporadically. Possibly feeling Pogba and Sanchez is enough flair players in one team.

And whoever we agree a deal on first whether be Alderweireld or Maguire will hopefully be second final signing.
 
With the numbers being talked about regardint Maguire and Alderwerald, how come we haven't been seriously linked with that Skriniar chap from Inter who people here seem to think is potentially a generational defensive talent?
 
Shocking stuff from Woodward and the board here, everyone knows we need reinforcements and that Mourinho is likely to kick off if he doesn't get what he wants, Woodward has no football IQ whatsoever.

For the same reason we didn't seriously try and sign Strootman and De Rossi, because both are fairly average and people on here don't know their elbow from their arsehole.

Would I be nieve in thinking that Woodward has no say at all on the targets (except those on the scale of Messi)?

I can't imagine him talking to Jose like "Nah mate, that Marco Reus is just a shite Aaron Lennon".

Woodward probably has a lot of respect for Mourinhos knowledge of all things related to football, but i’m guessing he’s looking at things from a business pov. Perhaps he’s looking at stuff like resell values? Might be why he seems to struggle getting players like Perisic, Toby, Willian?

I hope that is not the case otherwise we are in big trouble. We need to win right now and we can't afford to speculate on non-proven players. Me personally I would be more patient than others but I am not the one with all the worldwide attention and pressure without the luxury of bringing multiple players through and building them gradually.
