It's a sad and stupid move. He's young and will play every game he's fit for at Everton. Moving to a Chelsea team that Kouma barely gets a game in is just silly.
He'll get plenty of games. Especially if we spend £40m on him.

And Zouma gets plenty of games too.

He's 19 and he hands in a transfer request? What the hell is happening to these young footballers?
He's 21.

If someone offered to quadruple my salary and allow me to move to a much better company, in a much better city, at 21 years old, I'm not thinking twice.

Don't know what's wrong with these smaller clubs. Buy Evans off us for 6m and bloody sell him for £35m.

It's a very recent phenomenon that 21 year olds have developed a taste for money, ambition and personal glory, evidently.

It#'s a no brainer really, especially if Mourinho wants him to be a regular straight away.

To be fair, I was thinking transfer requests were getting less common with higher loyalty bonuses in modern football.

What Chelsea wants though, Chelsea gets...

Well overrated but given the state of Chelsea's defense he should play plenty of games. In fact I'd be surprised if he's not a regular A better player than Zouma so should immediately go above him.

Everton could do well to consider Denayer as a temporary replacement for Stones. Looks like he isn't keen on a move to Galatasaray although Marseille seem likely to get him should the move not materialise. He's very similar to Stones. Ideally though Everton should be looking for a long-term replacement rather than a stop-gap.

On who though? Its quite late in the window that clubs would milk them knowing full well that they have the money...
Surely they'd be pretty negligent if they haven't been looking at players this whole time just in case Stones went?

That's for the club to decide. You're right though, at this stage of the window with cash in their pocket clubs are not going to play nicely with them. They already have a couple of defenders lined up it would seem which would be the only issue they'd have to address should Stones leave, so they could put the rest of the money aside until next summer or see what happens in January.

Well this Mori bloke seems basically tied up and he was at our game on Sunday. So we'd need another one, possibly two if Stones leaves.

Will be interesting to see Evertons stance now considering that they've already said they won't sell even if he hands in a transfer request.
Football went ridiculous a long time ago, but this summer it's hit even more ridiculous heights. John Stones for what will probably be 35m? Sterling/De Bruyne 50m plus? The game is fecked.

Imagine If Fergie was trying to look for value........

Unsettle the player? Chelsea will have been talking to the players agent for weeks. Mourinho has little to do with it, despite this kind of God-like power people want to ascribe to him. A player wanting to live in London on massive money and play in the CL is perfectly understandable. And Everton will happily pocket the money despite all the sanctimony.

Well you seem to be very fair, flexible and receptive in this matter.

19 is the new 25 if big clubs think you're ready for first team football and offer you big contracts. They have every right, who can blame them? He's 21 btw

Yes..but there is nothing stopping those clubs from hiking their prices when they know that you are desperate..Its what Spurs and Pool tried to avoid by buying first and then selling( Although their signings were abysmal, but thats another story)

Having had the stance that they are not selling , crumbling now will not go well with the fans..If they can get a decent defender in now that doesnt cost a fortune, they should...then spend most of the money after careful scouting..Dont do a "Spurs 7" of spending in haste...

haha why do people want him to stay and why are they surprised he wants to move? no brainer.
I'd be devastated if we don't get involved.

He's 21. But when you're that young and a club like Chelsea comes calling, you learn/play with John Terry, and get to live in London, it is hard not to be tempted.

Yes the River plate one..but he needs to adapt to English and European football..I think if possible you should have told Stones that he can leave next season with your blessing, and with the Euros, he's price could probably even increase..The scary thing is that Martinez is no Moyes in buying defenders..and could get you another Alcaraz

I'd be very surprised if this move doesn't go through now.

34 million is my guess. They'll take Evans for 2m from us.

Not surprising at all. It was just a matter of time. Chelsea really need him considering their defensive record in the league till now.

Expect them to now elevate their game.

Match whatever Chelsea offer and throw in Evans as a freebie,
