Why join Chelsea when you could play for Barca?

Barnsley to Everton to Chelsea to Barca.

He was so good today. Not just his composure on the ball which always stands out but his defending too was very very good.

His composure is what marks him out as potentially a top, top player I think. Would love us to go in for him next summer.

Severely overrated in my opinion. Very good young defender with obvious potential to be one of the best around but Jones and Smalling to name just two players looked similarly promising at similar ages when we (a big club) snapped them up. Playing at the top level is a totally different beast and for me, Stones is more likely to take a Smalling development trajectory if he moves than a Shaw for example. All of a sudden his mistakes will be magnified and pressure will be on his back.

No they didn't.

Smalling couldn't even get in the Fulham team. Jones was playing CB or CM for Blackburn.

Stones has looked better than them.

He looks fantastic especially when on the ball, but he plays the right CB which Smalling plays so well, I would rather see If stones could play the left side. Smalling has shown for England he can also play the left CB, but I would rather keep him in the position he looks best and go for the next best left sided CB.

Smalling played in europe, lost his place when United signed him and loaned him back to them which understandably lost his focus.

Stones has looked better than Jones and Smalling, but also plays in a much better team than either of them did so its to be expected
