John Stones | Everton say they will reject all bids

I think Jones is currently better than Stones. Some times the grass isn't always greener on the other side. He's a great talent though and would be happy if we bought him.

do you work in United's treatment room by any chance?

Not convinced Stones isn't another Jones. The latter got rave reviews as well and the caf were buzzing when we signed him. Now he has been discarded as a used condom and basically is the butt of caf fail jokes.

Stones looking very comfortable up against Pelle. Didn't realise he won't be 21 until next May. £25 million plus Evans might do the trick if we're interested.

One week you are bad, the next week doing well against Pelle, you are suddenly the next big thing. He has still a lot to learn, and is talented, but lets not go overboard.

Stones is superior to Jones on the ball. would be a brilliant signing for now and the long term.

Other than the 2nd goal he wasn't actually that bad last week.

He was excellent last week as well. The single mistake he made doesn't mean he was bad.

I hope we finally make a bid that will be accepted next week.

If they refused an apparent bid of £30 million from chelsea then they won't accept that. Maybe if we offered £30 million + evans too they'd think about it.

The only way we'll sign him is if he surgically removed both feet and attaches his right foot to his left leg. Even that might not be enough.

Stones is comfortable passing with either foot though so maybe he can negate the stupid left foot thing.

Hope we try to get him otherwise Chelsea solve one of their problems.

If we don't get him then basically that's Hummels, Ramos, Benatia, Otamendi and Stones all missed out on/passed over, maybe Laporte's left foot will see him get the nod.

Plus if he comes to us he can stay close to his family, that's often important for young players making a move.

His family might all be dead for all I know, clutching at straws here.

The best thing for John Stones right now is to play regular football and at Everton he can do that week in week out without having too much pressure on him, if he went to one of the top 4 he will be under scrutiny every week and sometimes being so young that could effect him and some weeks he might not be 1st choice.

If United did sign him, I'd like us to loan him back for a season to let him develop further.

If i was him id choose chelsea over us. Just because they need a defender to replace terry while we will be just adding stock.

I hope he has some sense though like shaw did.

That's ridiculous. Stones would get in front of Rojo and Jones for his ball-playing skills alone. Furthermore, Stones would also push Blind to the bench because he's simply a better defender and a taller guy than Blind. After all, Smalling still needs a solid partner alongside him in the middle of the back 4.

One would expect that Everton would be able to squeeze a few more bob after Chelsea's horror show.

I think you forget we have van gaal in charge.

We are at a crossroads where we will have to chose between jones & stones IMO.

If Van Gaal bought him, that would tell you he rates him above Blind, Jones and Rojo. Otherwise, he wouldnt pay the amount of money it would take to get him.

Its a moot point, since he isnt a United player, but if we bought him, that would tell you how much Van Gaal rated him.

Van gaal will always prefer a left footed CB. As such smalling jones & stones is too much competition potentially for one spot never mind 2 when you include blind, rojo, mcnair, blackett & evans.

We have too many CBs as it stands. Mike, Rojo, Blind, Evans, Jones, McNair, Blackett.
