Januzaj | Confirmed: On Loan at Dortmund

I don't understand this. He started a few games did ok and now he's getting loaned out. He's a top prospect and is one the few players we have who can actually beat a man. We are also short in the attacking department and we have to remember we are back in the CL. Is LVG really going to play the same 14-15 players in every competition?

For Januzaj however it's a great move. I hope he does amazing in Dortmund.

Meh. At least there's no option to buy if he develops. If he can break through at Dortmund he'll be ready to come back. It'll definitely be nice to watch him under Tuchel.

Agreed but why not give a young talent more chances?
I don't disagree. But people want everything don't they? They want to give youngsters chances and still reserve the right to blast the youngster for being "too weak" and "having no vision" (read both here) as well as criticize the manager for us not playing campaign football.

I'd personally prefer youngsters given the chance but then one has to be prepared for inconsistency and not so good performances along the way.

Doesn't make sense unless we have another attacker incoming and thus couldn't see him getting games. He won't be a starter there either.

An hour ago i thought this didn't make sense, i still can't find any logical explanation to it.

Dortmund are a big club, his playing chances are similar to here, do they even need him?

Well, let's look at it this way. He's not good enough at the moment, so perhaps he'll join Dortmund for £2m then we can sign him back for £150m in 18 months time, by which time he'll be a bit better.

He's gone on loan because either LvG doesn't rate him or Januzaj doesn't like his methods/style of play. Probably both. I can't see how anyone can see that as anything other than deeply concerning.

I know he's only went on loan but LvG's handling of this has been no better than Sir Alex's when it came to Pogba. We don't promote many players from our youth teams but the ones we do, we somehow feck around. Sigh.

If that's true, he's not coming back. You just don't loan to teams like Dortmund. It makes no sense, unless the plan is a permanent move... And maybe a Dortmund player coming to United.

More likely move Rooney back to no10 with Martial up front IMO. Seeing as he obviously doesn't like Herrera and playing Fellaini up there is just embarassing for a club of our stature. Even LVG will not want the hoofball as our primary gameplan.

It's possible. We have a lot of multi-faceted players now so I don't think it's as clear cut as Martial up top and Rooney behind though.

Let's be honest. Usually when loans make zero sense, the player isn't coming back.

It is not a sweetener, why would it be? Dotmund would lose more than gain anything. It is just hopeless chatter.

Well that's what I was insinuating. People love making mad assumptions on here such as 'smokescreen', 'used us for a new contract' and the the new one, the good ouel sweetener.

Forget it mate, look at the Griezmann thread. Just hope, nothing else. I swear if we loaned Januzaj to Atletico, it would be as a sweetener for Griezmann.

This seems like such a bad move.

We desperately need pace and creativity in our attack, everyone knows it and Van Gaal has mentioned it multiple times. So we get rid of someone who has both and can play in all four attacking positions. Why not try mixing it up instead of getting rid, there have been so many times already this season when Rooney has looked terrible upfront and Mata has been struggling for impact on the right and Januzaj didn't get a chance in either role. What's the logic?

And to top it off he's gone to team with an attack that looks better than ours! Hard to see him being given a lot of playing time at Dortmund.
Agreed.

It's taken me an awfully long time to get pissed off with LvG but this has finally done it.

Ah right, Martial being the logical answer to that particular bent of mind.
He'd be second choice behind Rooney I presume. I can't really justify the Martial signing. It's an odd one. I presume LVG rates his ability to make instant impact higher right now than Januzaj's.

I'll be honest, I haven't even ventured into the Griezmann thread as I haven't heard one source link him to to us. So I can assume that the whole thread is being based on mere hope and unfounded assumptions.

Edit: I lie, I went in to see how the voting was going and commented on the 13 that said they would rather give youth a chance. Didn't read anything else.

and him being a United fan, plus what we need. I agree with all that, but wont happen. Same with Reus.

Obviously not. Think Van Gaal wants an athletic attacking midfielder who can dribble and give Januzaj the chance, which he clearly didn't take.

I think we can all agree on that but it's still early days. In stark contrast to the strker who has failed for a while now without being shipped out on loan.

Your optimism is commendable...indeed even I'm of the opinion that people miles more qualified than us and getting paid handsomely to make decisions do know best 95 times out of 100. The results will be seen on the pitch of course, but it's still slightly strange from an outsiders perspective to see 3 windows in a row where United have managed to make seemingly giant boo-boos.
