Januzaj | Confirmed: On Loan at Dortmund

Chicharito's deal I can understand but this ? How many players will depart further while only Martial's deal looking close so far. Sure that means there will more than one addition... ?

I hope we know what we're doing.

Because I really doubt a club of Dortmund's size and stature would bother to help develop a player without getting anything out of it. Januzaj is far from the finished prospect so it's not like they're loaning a player who would strengthen them immediately.
It could be a provision for Reus' injury issues. And he's technically a very good footballer.

Honestly, we'd be downright insane to sell Januzaj. You don't let go of an asset like that.

Sport Bild's guy says Dortmund have a buy option.

But they tend to get creative.
I'm hoping they're creative. Finding it hard to believe we'd allow that. We gave the kid the number 11 ffs

meltdown incoming

Edit: what does that mean? if he says so, i would be pissed

It means that SportBild is know to make stuff up or speculate from time to time. It's a bit risky now that the transfer already went through and confirmation might only be a matter of minutes, so he might be telling the truth after all.

Dortmund gave him #9 though, certainly that trumps #11?

Glass-half full view - he becomes a monster player and best friends with Reus, whom he convinces to come with him to United

Yeah hopefully Hummels too. Dortmund confirmed it now too, but no mention of a option to buy, at least something I guess.

Kind of similar circumstances, so let's hope his development in the Bundesliga mirrors De Bruyne's. Honestly think he'll be a much improved player when he comes back to United. :)

Official announcement on Dortmund's site has no mention of an option to buy. It says contract till Jun 30, 2016. Hope it is that way only and there is no option to buy for them. If it is just a loan, it is THE club I would have liked him to go to.

So this is official?
Surely being sacrificed in order for the club to secure a Dortmund forward before the window shuts. Probably loan with a view to a permanent deal.

Otherwise this is the dumbest loan ever. He's not even going to start enough.

Why do people keep saying this could be a 'sweetner' for Reus? Surely if we were bidding for Reus and offering Januzaj on loan, it would be done in one transfer, no?

Fecking LVG. The guy hasn't a clue what he's doing.

Our best youngster who carried the team a couple years ago is now on loan in a foreign country. Does not make sense whatsoever.

The only saving grace is it looks like it's just a loan thankfully.

Annoying to see a player that has it in him to get you excited leaving this slow and dull side.

Dortmund are great to watch so I could see him really enjoying himself a lot in that side.

Just don't enjoy too much, Adnan.

I fully agree but if anything both Woodward and LvG has shown that they're capable of delivering that level of insanity. And to think it looked so good when we left for the US tour - only for LvG to kick off the circus the first day.

It is not a sweetener, why would it be? Dotmund would lose more than gain anything. It is just hopeless chatter.

How long has Januzaj left on his contract at United? I can't find anything about it.

/edit: just read until 2018, thanks anyway in case someone already posted

Is the number 9 further indication LVG wants him to develop into a striker i wonder.

I don't think we've sold any player yet that the fans genuinely believe is vital for our future, yet. Not one that wants to stay at least.

Good move for young Adnan, hopefully he comes back twice the player.

Brilliant loan move for him, hopefully we just get him back in the end of all this

We are thin upfront and with our wingers so far looking dire he could have been a great option out wide. Really dont understand that move

Only makes sense if we sign one more. We're too light.

This seems like such a bad move.

We desperately need pace and creativity in our attack, everyone knows it and Van Gaal has mentioned it multiple times. So we get rid of someone who has both and can play in all four attacking positions. Why not try mixing it up instead of getting rid, there have been so many times already this season when Rooney has looked terrible upfront and Mata has been struggling for impact on the right and Januzaj didn't get a chance in either role. What's the logic?

And to top it off he's gone to team with an attack that looks better than ours! Hard to see him being given a lot of playing time at Dortmund.

I really hope we're bring in a winger.Don't want to be stuck with Valencia and Young as our only back up out wide.
