Was at the game and Sancho was very well received.

He first came out to warm up and the crowd went crazy. Total standing ovation. You could tell it meant a lot to him from his reaction back. Literally the whole of the stadium was chanting his name.
That’s amazing! Must have an awesome feeling for you watching this!

Does anyone know why he needed a break?

Or what steps ETH is talking about before reintroducing him back to the team?

He hasn't played well in his time here but he's young enough to improve.
He's technical skills are obvious

Was great to see him back, the atmosphere was great when he came on. Did Ten Hag say anything about why he played through the middle and Bruno out wide?

"he can play as a number 10 as well" is a quote is a quote espn got from Ten Hag.

So happy for him. You could see in that conversation between him and ETH just before he came on, that the manager believes in him and both are mutually working towards getting the best out of this for the player and the club. He has 3 goals and 1 assist despite missing 3 and a half months (17 games excluding friendlies). I can see him getting close to 10 goals and if he can achieve that, it is a win in my book for this season.

Looked just like he was before the sabbatical… slow and not doing anything of note. He looked pretty quick in Germany. Maybe the opposition is just a lot more faster here?

He is not exactly a player that will get you off your seat, which is what I thought he would be. One thing is for sure, he definitely can’t be a winger if you want to win the premier league.
You’re all just obsessed with pace. His touch, weight of pass etc were all very good. I think you just want a team of Adama Toures mindlessly running into each other.

I was more saying something like rashford in his current purple patch. We can’t win the league with him as a winger. And could he really replicate Bruno’s work rate and end product from 10? I don’t think so.

Don’t really see any major difference in his speed and conditioning in all honesty but the change to a more central role is intriguing. His passing was a little off but there’s a glimmer of hope in that type of role… he slows the game down and that isn’t an issue in a 10 position, looks classy.

He was out for 3 months and considering that he was absolutely fine.

I'm not sure if this is satire or not.

I'm really pleased to see him back and smiling. I wondered if he might be tried in the centre, maybe that's something they've been working on in the Netherlands. Hopefully a strong finish to the season from him.

We haven’t won the league with Rashford and Bruno either. It’s fine - you’re dying to dump on him. Many of us thing it was a pretty good cameo. Let’s see how he does in the coming months. Hopefully very well.

Happy to see him back on the pitch playing, hopefully it kicks off his season from now onwards, we will need him.

Not massively bothered about what he did last night as it was more a case of re-introducing him at the right time. Given the amount of time and somewhat mysterious reasoning for his absence I've no doubt he'd have been incredibly nervous and if confidence was part of the issue then they'd be a fragility there should it have gone badly

Thankfully we finally have a world class manager who picked the perfect time to bring him back and playing him centrally meant he could get plenty of the ball but also with the game won there's no pressure to actually produce anything. Also introducing rashford and martial at the same time made it more of a shared experience for him and from what I can tell (and rashfords IG post) they're good mates those 3 so he's have felt comfortable with them

I was struck at the time of the substitution that these 3 would've been most fans first choice front 3 at the start of the season and yet they've barely played together at all. Lets hope they all stay fit now as they could all play a huge role for us in the run in - between them they have everything

A really warm fuzzy feeling to see him back and hear the reception from the crowd. Hes going to be really useful at the business end of the season.

If he is a no.10 now then it's curtain for Donny.

Will we see Jadon at 10 to cover for Bruno or Bruno moved out to the right?

We have seen a few times that Ten Hag has moved Bruno to the right when we are struggling to break a team down, I remember earlier in the season, Rashford was brought on to play 10.

Against teams who play a low block, it looks like last 20/30 mins Ten Hag wants someone who can dribble in the 10 just to cause a bit of chaos.

Glad he get support from the fans. Hopefully he has a role to play going forward, and hopefully that role is bigger than being a league cup sub. Its down to him, he has the quality

I reckon he forms part of our best front 3 with martial and rashford. Although Antony gives us best balance but sancho played some great stuff on the right in pre season.

I think he’ll start a few games on the bench and when he comes on and contributes with like a goal or assist he’ll probably get some starts then. He’ll have to earn it from the bench though. Glad he’s back, such a talent.

Yeah, I could see this looking alright:

Rashford---Martial---------------
------------------------Sancho-Antony
---------Sabitzer--------------------------
------------------Casemiro--------------

when Bruno gets a rest. Lots of one-touch passing and movement, Antony coming inside and Sancho able to then go outside. Mostly move the ball up the right when slower in possession and try to overload that side with defenders and switch it to Rashford, who will have Sabitzer and Shaw coming in when he has to check back.

Did you guys notice ETH had a little fatherly like chat with him before coming on and he had a smile from ear to ear?

I hope he can be moulded to fit that No.10 central attacking position occupied by Bruno, because that’d be a great alternative to Bruno and would make Sancho able to play left, right and central.

Don't judge Bundesliga players by their stats, they won't be able to produce that in a way tougher league where you get much less time on the ball after receiving it. Look at Mkhitaryan and Kagawa for example. When you look at all of Sancho's Bundesliga goals and assists, most of the time he had ages to make a decision before he was closed down by the opposition defenders.

Having said that, I still think Sancho will be a very good player for us as soon as we start dominating possession and control games against most teams...Sancho's link-up play is an amazing tool vs low-blocks...(Martial and VDB are also very good at this).

I think it's more Bruno needs a little bit of time/space to be at his best. Often in the tigher pockets his lack of weight/strength lets him down. He gets bullied off the ball easily and doesn't like being touched and will often go down easily.

I don't remember many of his assists coming in those type of situations? perhaps a quick little flick or something but a lot of the time he loses it.

Out wide just like our 2nd goal, he can get his head up and use his fantastic vision/passing range to deliver a killer pass, and he's less likely to get bullied by a fullback.

Obviously in games where there is space for him to operate then it works fine as 10, but I think it's a smart adjustment especially against deep lying defences.

Look at Haaland and Son for counter examples. I can't believe we have to discuss this all the time, but some players adapt well to their new club and league and some don't.

It's true that you can't judge by stats alone, but claiming that it's impossible to replicate BL stats in the PL is simply wrong.

Some players do, some don't.

Haaland is a striker and someone who has a legitimate chance to go on and become the greatest goalscorer the game has ever seen. His game also doesn't evolve around receiving the ball and making something happen or linking up with his teammates...he's usually there for the final touch before a goal...I think you can safely say that he's one of the exceptions.

Son also took a lot of time to become one of the best players in the world.

I think it's rather the EPL fan's exceptionalism bias.

I know you've got a stick up your arse about the PL, but it's a pretty commonly held opinion by those within football that the PL is the most demanding top flight league.

Son needed one season to adjust, since then his PL stats are better than his BL stats which is my point (and yes he evolved over time, obviously)

I think no one denies that. But claiming that players coming from another league are incapable to make the necessary step up just because they played in another league is probably the most stupid take that's repeated all the time here.

Some do it immediately (Haaland), some need time (Son), some fail (Kagawa).

I think he'll do well at no.10, but probably not well enough to displace Bruno.

C'mon Sancho, sort your wingplay out. That's what we bought you for.
