Nobody is benefiting more from Martial's injuries than Sancho. He's been distinctly average of late. Looks like a player who's lost his moorings and is drifting a bit.

Early in the season his off the ball running was getting him into great positions and he was scoring goals. He also did brilliantly to create our winner against Nicosia. I just don't know why suddenly he's taken a step back.

When is it time to write off a player? Seems like it’s the same performance every week from him
He's young enough and talented enough that he still has time. I've expected more from him this season and largely disappointed but if it doesn't improve I think next season could be make or break for him at United.

We don't have the time to be waiting years without clear signs of improvement.

Maybe it’s me but I’d have expected other big clubs to have gotten rid by now. I think we hold on to underperforming players for too long. He has a skill set that isn’t right for the club. There’s a talented player in there but, he lacks the cutting edge required to make it at a club wanting to win trophies

I’m not here to crap on him, but I’m genuinely curious to know what he did/how he played at Dortmund to make United go for him?

I still think his best position is as a 10 through the middle.

Just feels like he’s not confident/assertive enough to do anything as a winger. Just keeps the ball nicely and then passes it back and becomes a bit part no matter what the result of the match is

As i previously mentioned, think Haaland helped make him look much better than he actually is.

He’s been here one season man

Did Chelsea get rid of Havertz after one season?

We’d be at best able to loan him out to a decent European team while covering part of his salary at this point. I don’t imagine anyone paying even £20m to get him. Maybe Dortmund.

Imo it's this season not next season. ETH has showed how ruthless he is. Maguire is our current captain and cost us 80m. He's lucky that we don't have many options now but imo it won't be the case next season.

One season is sometimes enough. Chelsea got rid of Lukaku after a season of underperforming (albeit a loan). Plenty of players have been shipped off after a poor debut season, why is Sancho different. Has he shown anything worth holding on to?

If he has a similar season to last, would you like to keep him still?

Lukaku is nearly 30.

Sancho is more comparable to Havertz, give me examples of big clubs buying 20 year olds for huge money and giving up on them after just one season….

If we can get a good price next Summer and he continues like this, we should certainly consider it.

He'll be on the bench when Martial is fit.

I'd be tempted to get rid in the summer. Really losing my patience with him.

I posted in the match day thread we need to try and get rid this summer before it becomes commonly accepted that he is shite.

Unfortunately I just remembered he's on about £300k a week and contracted until about 2026... not a chance unfortunately.

Had my doubts about this player ever since that first pre-season when he took about 5 weeks off and came to pre-season late despite playing about 10 seconds at the Euros.

He strikes me as one of those players who is incredibly talented but only half in love with the game, happy to take his massive wage and make a show of being interested but that's about it.

Morons on the internet still love him because he looks the part and is probably decent on FIFA but he'll never make it at a top club.

For United and England, he hasn't done much to talk about really...he might transition into a squad player once Martial is match fit (so never) or when a CF is brought in.

Rashfrod will replace him on the left as soon as that's possible.

He was okayish last year, not what his price tag suggested, but the whole team was on vacation too. Let's at least wait a few more months before we call for his head.

He was pretty direct at Dortmund don't know what happened to that directness. In this form he is dreadful to watch.

He's worrying. Doesn't have pace, no physical strength, has finesse and great technique but he looks like a tiki-taka or a five-a-side player. Needs to put in loads of work. Was surprised he started tonight really.

He's got until summer to prove his worth. 2 seasons chance, that's fair.

I wouldn’t write him off yet, bad form is a thing, but he needs to step it up sharpish. He doesn’t look committed currently, and drifted through the game today.

It's been over a year and a half. His dropped off a bit at Dortmund in the 2nd half of the season supposedly but at United it's been over a season. When does bad form become your entire stay at a club. He has been the same from beginning to end. Bad form suggests you are normally good

I was with my mate watching clips from his breakthrough 2019 season. It's a different player. I honestly think he is scared of something. Like he is so reluctant to attack dudes. In the reel he was cockily taking dudes on and looked easy. Maybe he got dispossessed a few times when he came to England and now he would rather keep it safe?

I actually don't think he was as awful as people are making out. It was a pretty standard Sancho performance. Didn't see any worse than the last few games
When you cost as much as he did and is as talented as he is, letting the game pass you by isn't enough. A bad performance isn't fecking up every opportunity, as a forward you've got to show more than just keep things ticking.

His 'low' level might be better than someone like Rashford but he's performing at his low level way too much.

I'd be shocked if he isn't dropped very soon they way he's playing and deservedly so.

Feels like he was hiding a bit today. He has talent but it's almost like he lacks the confidence to take a few risks to open teams up. Seems to lack the mentality to take responsibility aswell.

Feels like he needs a serious kick up the arse to get his head in shape, start showing some bravery in your play or you will be out the door.

I feel like he's hiding in most games so far.

Needs to give his head a wobble, he's completely off the pace, everything he does is too slow and he moves too late, that moment where Shaw passed him the ball and he was in an offside position sums up his whole game.

What’s the difference between Sancho and Van de Beek? I think it’s interesting how you still see comments on people saying give Sancho time, but almost everyone has given up on Donny.

Looks lost. Talent is there and its up to coaching staff to unearth it. He hesitates every time. If you beat your fullback get the fecking cross in.
It's not really up to the coaching staff, that's the problem. The coaching staff seem to be doing a pretty good job with everyone else and the team structure as far as we can see from a distance.

It's up to himself to get fit for 90 mins of PL football, that's a basic personal responsibility, it's up to him to execute technique, to take risks, show desire in the game to make something happen. I wouldn't be surprised if he's exactly the sort to think good form is just going to arrive at his doorstep as if by chance, or that everyone else will do it for him. He's too soft at the moment. Maybe lacking confidence but if you're not confident then you need to start with good habits and get yourself into a position to improve the situation..like being fit for example.

Why do you think that? Keep seeing it being thrown around that he's now a 10 that he's failed from the right and now the left, has he ever played there for more than the odd game?

Loads of space and crap defending in bundesliga. Majority of his assists were to the freakish goal machine that is Haaland.
