He just hasn't got that inner drive needed to thrive at a club like United, he's too content with himself.

One of the things that bugged me from the start with him and I posted it back then.

He got the move of a lifetime to a huge club like United.
He should have been eager to impress and had himself in top physical condition for the start of the season.

Instead, he accepted an extended holiday and returned to the club totally out of shape.
Even Maguire and Shaw returned to training before him that summer and they played almost every minute of the Euros.
Grealish was even back in time for the Community shield for City.

Sancho should have been back early for preseason eager to impress last year but that winning drive just isn't his nature.

He'll 100% never succeed here.

We need a more clinical striker than Rashford and then we can move him to his best position and bench Sancho.

We probably tripled his salary. I don't think he'll be heading back to Dortmund.
He was on about the same money as Rashford at Dortmund, I’m sure he’d take a hit in the pocket to be playing well again and enjoying his football. 300k a week v 200k a week, not likely to starve anytime soon.

I really don't know what game did you watch to say "No lack of effort from him". Strange?
I mean at least he sprinted back when he gave the ball away this time unlike that Europa League game or the City match. I saw some effort/pressing I just didn't see any quality and a few too many loose passes.

He was the worst player on the pitch for me and as I said it's just not happening for him. It's worrying.

Just like his friend, Rashford, who is well-known for his unique ability of "converting goals into chances", Sancho is a magician that can always surprise the audience by turning even the most promising attacks into dead-ends.
On top of his terrible performance, what is even more infuriating is his timid attitude on the pitch. Didnt show any sign of determination to strive to do better, or to redeem himself after a mistake. It's so annoying especially when contrasted with what we saw from the likes of Martinez, Casemiro or Antony.

Cant understand what is he doing on the pitch. Everytime he received the ball its either pass it to the back or he turned it over with a shit pass/dispossesed. He cant take his man at all and he cannot run and cross for his life. I dont watch him at all in Dortmund so is it always been like this ?? Zaha and trossard are just some random midtable wingers off my head I would take over him now.

It’s obvious from their time at Dortmund that Haaland made Sancho look far better than what he actually is.

Another cracking purchase (mugs) Utd.

This is my biggest concern with him. I don't sense a personality like anybody Ten Hag has signed. These guys all have personality, drive, want to impact games.

Sancho isn't even bothered to get fit. A basic, minimum requirement and he can't do it. Forget taking people on, scoring goals. How can you not be fit? Pathetic.

What is sad to see is that Diogo Dalot has more stepovah game than Sancho. And he's a right back!

Looks well off it, i havent written him off like some others on here but definitely doesnt look anywhere close to a top class player. If i was Elanga i'd be furious he was ahead of me, and Elanga is hardly a world beater!

Still waiting to see what all the fuss was about from all those that said he was a must sign even at £120m. Looks an absolute flop right now but has age on his side.

He's never going to have the physical attributes (he weak and slow) but at the moment he also manages to make the worst decision in every scenario.

I still hope there is a player there and ETH can develop that. He is still young
Nah, he has not shown any real quality here and there is nothing he’s particularly good at. One of the most frustrating players I have seen at United. We will probably be shipping him away to Lille or back to Dortmund within 1-2 years, and I was ridiculed for suggesting a loan to Ajax would have been good for him.

There are wingers at most mid table teams with way more quality and courage than him. I would have Zaha, Trossard, Saint Maximin, Bowen, Harrison or Gordon well ahead of him.

Calm the Feck down

That's a player that we pursued for 2 long ass years and not for nothing, he'll be ok.

I was one of the muppets drooling over us getting him in both summers. I think I've actually reached the point of accepting he's not good enough for where we want to be. It's clear he was much more productive in Bundesliga, but I can only lean towards the fact it's an easier league.

I just don't see anything where I feel confident he can be a true threat and key asset. His lack of explosive pace, acceleration is killing him. He is getting a free pass because of his touch and technique which just isn't going to be enough.

He was up against a pensioner full back today and offered no threat in any kind of take on.

I was desperate for him to be a star, I just don't see it happening.

OTT comments, the team has raised a level and it's exposing Sancho to not be at that level. It however doesn't mean he's invalid. When he came off the team became too narrow so he clearly has a tactical influence in this team. What he needs to do more is be more direct and up his intensity those are mental applications more so than physical ones. When you consider that City have had B.Silva, Sane and Sterling when in form they were an array of talent but they all had different profiles. Sancho is nowhere near bad enough to leave but offers enough to be an attacking option.

Don't be so sure, a player at that age accepting to lower his wages to play football ? It would be unheard of

He’s lucky we’re lacking a striker because otherwise Rashford would have his place on the left.

When is it time to write off a player? Seems like it’s the same performance every week from him

Yes because we swapped a winger for a midfielder. This was a mistake IMO, we had nothing on the left side.
He keeps the width and recycles the ball, he's too hesitant on the ball and I think he should be dropped - also because I think he's low on confidence and it's getting worse.

Getting real Karel Poborsky vibes off this guy. I remember how good he was at Euro '96 but it just never happened for him here. At least he got moved on quickly enough.

If Sancho doesn't improve over the rest of this season, I'd hope that he'd be moved on. No muss, no fuss... just get on with it. I'm tired of underachievers lasting half a decade or even a decade at this club. Gives off majorly bad vibes all over the place...
