I've defended him constantly but after that showing, I'm not sure anymore. Looking back at when he played at the Nou Camp for Dortmund, he's the polar opposite of that player, I've no idea what's happened to him but something has switched, he's not the same player anymore.

Decision making absent, energy absent, lost the ball with almost every touch, and two guilt edge chances sliced. He's clearly not fit enough to be playing football at this level.

Best moment was playing in Rashford with a pass that was meant for Fred.

I just think he does not have physicality to be a top player at highest level. His second half when playing around the box was decent but it is hard to say what he added to the team in general.
Skinny fat. Has zero muscle tone or power. Game is really too quick and strong for him. In weaker leagues, with space and high lines, he does alright, but in top level football he's being quickly found out.

Also I cannot cope with players who can't strike a ball cleanly, you don't have to be KDB, but not being able to hit the ball with your instep is criminal at pro level, every shot he takes is a pass and it drives me mad.

I don't really even think he has that good a technique or dribbling, I just cannot see it.

He completely fluffed two excellent chances.

The one in the first half from Wan-Bissaka's pull-back, I'm not sure he even managed to kick it all, It basically just deflected off De Jong.

His chance in the second half he seemed a deer in the headlights.

He's playing like there is a huge amount of pressure on him, I'm sure Ten Hag would have told him to relax, but once he learns to relax, as he did playing for Dortmund, I think we will see a much better player.

Absolute pants. Even before the mental issue thing he did feck all.
He's been so good in the last 2-3 years you can count his good performances on fingers of 1 hand

Sorry I really do want to support him but I really don’t see it. Lacks so much intensity in his game. Going from Rashford and Bruno who operate 100 miles an hour to him and you see the issue.

First half was the usual Sancho but the second half he was much improved and showed a lot of his quality.

I like him a lot and desperately want him to concede but my gut feeling tells me it just won't work. He's too soft and plays at too low of an intensity to be a major factor here.

I'll give him a pass as he's not going to be up to speed yet after so long out.

Had two reasonable opportunities yet failed to make a decent connection on either, almost embarrassing first attempt that needed a huge deflection to take it narrowly wide. Also wasted good crossing situation just before he was substituted, with an overhit cross beyond the far post, when Rashford appeared to be in space. 3 key passes, I remember the one to Rashford in the first half but don't recall the others.

If I was Garnacho or Pellistri, I'd be very frustrated that Sancho stayed on the pitch so long after such a performance.

Look, sometimes it just doesn't happen.

Pogba, Kagawa, Depay, Lukaku, Mkhitar....well the first four anyway..... they all showed flashes but there's no written rule that it will eventually work out.

He just doesn't have it. I'd have more patience if it looked like he was busting a gut out there. But he just looks unfit, and has looked unfit since day one. Everything is at walking pace, zero intensity, zero commitment, zero hunger. The writing was on the wall when he signed and delayed joining sunmer training because he was on holidays.

He just doesn't have the mentality for this level.

Nice to see some measured patient posts for a player who was 2 months out.

He wasn't injured for two months, and it's not his first game back anyway. You can't expect more sensible opinions because he has returned as basically the same player he was, nothing better or worse. He is just meh, unfortunately.

Edit: we all know he was getting up mentally while he was away, but I have no idea why people act like he was on vocation. He was literally on individual training to become more fit, he wasn't sleeping for two months. And it's not his first game back, there is a reason he was a starter against Barca in such a game, and that is because his manager think he is more than fit to start the game.

He’s got a pass until March for me. He is still unfit he was actually good first half.

I think if he gets a bit fitter and a touch more of arrogance he will get there, it’s just that touch extra he needs, I have a feeling it will snowball in March.

He’s a bit underwhelming. The chances of him getting picked again for England while Saka is around are zero.

I'm aware I can't expect sensible opinions here sadly.

I still think he is more suited to playing through the middle rather than the wing.

Just too happy to coast through games. Needs to take a leaf from Rashford’s book.

Feels destined to test everybody’s patience and quickly sap the goodwill that is there for him to succeed. Two matches in a row where he appears the weakest link, even next to Weghorst who shows a more obvious, albeit rudimentary, impact.

He’s gonna get plenty more chances and a lot more time to sort himself out, and there’s no better chance than the two games in front of an electric Old Trafford this week.

Ok, he's played four games now? Was training with another team during the WC and with the first team for ages.
2 starts and two sub appearances one of which he was very good when coming on.

I wouldn’t be writing him off yet. I wonder were you also one of the ones wanting Rashford sold a few months ago.

some players require patience

Was really hoping he’d hit the ground running so it’s a bit of a shame. Hopefully he plays his way into form but I wouldn’t have him over Antony right now.

This kid just drives me nuts. There's no doubt his quality, but his flaw is still the same. He's invincible for the majority of the game and doesn't affect the flow at all, just appears from time to time with some moments.

Look at how Rashford affects the game, running and dribbling at defenders and tearing them apart even if he doesn't score or assist. I thought Sancho would be like that, but he goes hidden for most of the 90 minutes.

He's way too passive for my liking. He's doing his talent a disservice with this style of play, in my opinion.

Not going to happen for him is it, the time away doesn't appear to have made any difference, now you can argue he now lacks matches but with Rashford, Antony and Garnacho all competing for the same position as him (next season when we get a striker especially) I just don't see him turning it around

One who was clearly playing injured and put of form, from our academy who has scored 100 goals for the club, versus a £75m signing who has spent the last year struggling to make any impact at all.

He should be fifth choice behind Rashford, Antony, Garnacho and Bruno.

He's a very different type of player to Rashford even at his best in Dortmund. The same clearly applies to Antony too and I actually don't think ETH would want a front line full of Rashford style attackers. Not a criticism of Rashford but ETH also clearly sees the value in attackers like Sancho and Antony and how they can impact the game. Sancho needs to improve but think his return to the side has been fine.

He needs to impose himself on games more but he did create a few chances today without being at his best. I think stats can be overstated but saw that he created and had the most key passes today. That doesn't make it a good or great performance but he did contribute.
